For melee DOG you should use either tarragon armor (if you're not doing true melee, aka melee which requires you to hit with the sword hitbox itself) or bloodflare armor only if you're using true melee .

Weapon wise, banshee hook or terror blade are the best options for not true melee, with holy collider and lionheart for true melee.

Accessory wise, tarragon wings if tarragon armor, otherwise elysian wings. After that, fire gauntlet, and elysian aegis are incredibly good. For the last 4 slots, you can go offensive, defensive, or a mixture of those.

Ambrosial Ampoule, absorber, deific amulet are really solid defensive accesdories.

Badge of bravery is a great offensive accessory, and if you're true melee, warbanner of the sun is good too.

Lastly we have "statsticks" which are accessories mainly focused on both offensive and defensive stats, usually in smaller amount than either of the dedicated options. Affliction and Amalgamated brain are both solid options here.
