I've received death threats over DoG. I've been called lazy, incompetent, stupid, and any number of other negative things as a result of how I developed the mod. Most of the creators that I consider genuinely talented in this community have opinions ranging from "It's quite flawed" to "It's complete shit"

The reason I'd get so dismissive of it was as a form of defense against that. After all, I don't have to prove myself to all those hateful voices if I agree with them, right? Suddenly it becomes less a matter of having to prop up defenses of my worth as a creator and more a simple matter of joining the chorus

You getting death threats over the way a boss was balanced is genuinely absurd, and I’m so sorry you had to deal with that kind of behavior. I really hope things are better now, because I mean it when I say this: as a programmer myself, I wish I had even half of your talent. The people who call Infernum flawed or “complete shit” probably just struggled to adapt to the difficulty spike that DoG introduced, but that doesn’t mean it was an impossible challenge. But regardless, everyone has their preference when it comes to enjoyment, i suppose.

I can see what you mean, getting that much hate must have taken a real toll on your mental health. Coping by downplaying your own work is definitely one way to handle it, though certainly not the only one. I just hope you never went through a period where you felt so discouraged that it stopped you from doing what you love, because you truly are an inspiration to so many people, myself included.

Infernum brothers have three attacks:

Dashing towards you while releasing projectiles; dodged by just moving vertically up and down

Cataclysm stands still and shoots vertical homing projectiles, while catastrophe chases and slashes at you; do a sort of circle motion so you dodge both. More specifically, any sort of vertical movement dodges catastrophe, while cataclysm has mainly vertical projectiles which can be dodged by moving horizontally. So that's why circling around the arena works.

Cataclysm and catastrophe stand at your side, firing horizontal projectiles and circles of other projectiles at the same time, with one of them going down and the other going up; this is by far their hardest attack, move vertically but be very careful about the small projectiles

The ichor lobs might seem impossible to avoid or just a reactive, impromptu bullet hell. But, their trajectory is predictive, so by dashing back and forth you can make a small safe spot between them

The Plasma Rod is a very effective support weapon for everybody. The Shadowflame debuff is incredibly strong for a few reasons, so by switching to it every so often you can ramp up your power greatly

Stellar contempt is the best overall option Imo

Stellar striker or gilded proboscis are true melee but they're even faster because banner and hide of astrum deus

And she's not unfriendly towards true melee but also she's a very dangerous girl to stick TOO close to if you're not as experienced IMO
