For vertical dashes you want to dash and go opposite of him (so if dog is going from top to bottom you ram while going left or right and fly a little to get extra time before you will need to ram again to recharge the dash cooldown)

Also going in the same direction as dog when he's doing vertical dashes can be used to reposition and force him into horizontal dashes or horizontal dashes with spiral

I don't agree that this is perfectly optimal. Killing the boss quickly is in itself a form of survivability, because the shorter a bossfight is, the less opportunities the boss has to deal damage to you.

This is a pretty good build which is why a lot of people use it, but I’d call it anything but optimal

You’re relying on your own muscle memory and skill far more to survive the fight, and mistakes are WAY more punishing with a build like this

Going full tank is better because you get so many chances to make mistakes, you’d need to be entirely unfamiliar with the fight to have a chance at losing to all but the hardest fights

In an ideal scenario with a tank build, you can just not move and win anyways, though this is basically impossible with calamity thanks to def damage

• farthest bottom left is blood and it goes down whenever I take damage, if it reaches 0 I die instantly. Also sometimes it starts draining on its own when I haven’t fought a single thing and I really don’t know why
• second farthest bottom left is stress. It’s an old feature but honest to god I don’t know what it does here
• middle top right is thirst, goes down and gives me passive movement speed buff if I keep it high
• bottom right is hunger, same thing as thirst but its passive damage

All you need is a fairly large vertical arena, portal gun, and astral boots. Basically, fall for the first half of the chase while holding the portal gun, you will fall faster than dog moves, then scoop back up and fire your weapon. There's a lot more to it but holding portal gun but not using it is pretty important

so we discussed yesterday about the three boss order for Eternity + Death

that being what order to do Abominationn, SCal, and Exo Mechs in

the general consensus was that Abominationn is significantly stronger than the other two, and that beating Abominationn first would make SCal and Exo a cakewalk

but that that feels kind of bad since then you're doing Abominationn into Mutant

but now that I look at the boss order, there's a simple solution to that

just do either one or two of the Wrath of the Gods bosses after Abominationn and before Mutant

Mars is actually tiered there by the Boss Checklist anyways

I have no idea how Avatar of Emptiness compares to Mutant though

given that it's shooting out like 20 yoyos at once

oh yeah, and just for reference, regular Zenith clocks in at an unimpressive 13k, and Dragon Pow (functionally Zenith Flail) knocks out around 43k when getting direct hits from range
