The class guides are nice, but they also do disinclude a lot of extremely good on-tier weapons

so I feel like it's always best to actually try out the weapons, see how they feel, check their DPS, that sort of thing

rather than just blindly trusting the class guide

especially if you're doing an addon or have some other mods included

for example, the Trimerang is available really early (probably Desert Scourge for the Pearl Shards?), and is a solid option for Melee through the first several bosses, up through Eye of Cthulhu

maybe even EoW/BoC, though there's other good options for ranged melee by that point

but not that many

the Broken Biome Blade isn't mentioned at all in the guide, but is incredibly good in is Arid Grandeur mode against anything you can get into vaguely melee range of

such as Eternity WoF

and conversely, some of the weapons listed are actually incredibly hard to use, due to their design. The Pwnagehammer, for example, has an incredible DPS for its tier, but is almost impossible to realistically use against any decently mobile boss

eg: Lifelight
