I'm hoping the general Linux community gets as toxic as possible about the intrusive parts of BattlEye, the growing number of anti-cheats that read browser history and such, anything with equivalent permissions to NT AUTHORITY, and the likes

Hopefully that stuff is sandboxed/containerized to death and Maplestory2/Genshin/Valorant sort of anticheats don't have the power to completely wipe your OS, while still beingplayable

Acer A515-51G was never a gaming laptop, the equivalent would have been Nitro 5 or Nitro 7 of that year. But still horrible power deliver, and thermal limit.

Well people have budget limits for laptops and they wanna sell more by any means necessary. Like if you want a 650-900$ laptop it's likely for you to get a Nitro 5.

They choose a motherboard just like we choose one. like mine is HM570 (from Intel), then they make some minor changes to it and make tons of laptops.

Both board makers, and laptop makers have a say in this; then market itself (in addition to former experiences with sales) dictates what to get.

maybe your graphics driver is corrupted, try updating your gpu drivers to latest versions, or if it is already latest version, reinstall them but before that you need to fully uninstall the current driver using a tool like DDU.

there's more than one reason for this issue though, you gotta check them one by one to find the faulty factor.

If reinstalling/updating drivers didn't work, I'd go on and do a fresh install of windows.

imo, with win11 MS is just trying to pierce its claws even further into individuals everyday routines/info/data, at least by the sounds of it.
I'm not saying there is nothing else added to this build, it definitely has some improvements, visually, kernel etc... but they also trying to gain more info on their users.

My drive's free space is half what it should be, right clicking with all folders selected shows that the folders use half the space that Windows reports is currently in use, and if I use Virtualbox to delete one of the VMs and remove all data, the folder remains in Windows, but the hidden used storage is cleared
But I'm avoiding deleting it all through Virtualbox because it deletes my config files and one of those folders is not governed by Virtualbox
