With my social life and workload i can get away with a sleek but value oriented laptop and a killer PC.

x570 is just overkill for a ryzen 5 5600x

if u had something like a ryzen 7 5k or ryzen 9 5k, yea, go with a x570

other than that, dont go overkill on a motherboard, just dont cheap out on a motherboard

Seems like graphics degradation is a thing

Context: Many people get crash to desktop for some reason, and in this video he tests many options, and finally realizes the video card he gifted to that guy for a few weeks was degraded and would cut games out at higher clock speeds.

This means sometimes, it doesn't matter what graphics card you have, if it crashes your games with the latest drivers; it might be degraded and you might have to underclock/undervolt it.

Everytime you do a windows feature update it makes a hidden recovery drive of that version (like 21H1) which is similar to the one you download from microsoft through media creation tool.

few years ago I installed ubuntu 16.04 on a lenovo laptop for my sister to begin with linux. but then when I wanted to switch to windows, I found out ubuntu has messed up my bios and has made it Read-only! now my only chance is desoldering the bios and re-programming it again.

since then, I promised to never touch that distro again.

I actually ran 14.04 a few years ago as a daily os because win7 wouldn’t connect to the internet

Eventually deleted it once I figured out how drivers work but still remember how smooth it ran on Ubuntu compared to windows

Its very likely GTAV/O is just hammering away at 1-2 CPU threads and your GPU is practically asleep, in which case there isn't much you can do to improve the performance

but you can probably increase your graphics settings a decent amount without performance loss

"Normal"/Off for everything is an okay starting point though. Population density and that one setting that increases the distance for physics interactions and world-related logic being turned down may help a tiny bit
