I swear, I've tried everything else wiht my 7700k, hooked it up to a 360mm rad, applied arctic silver 5, made sure heatsink was mounted properly, and I still hit 80 under load

I have the tools to delid and apply liquid metal, but I don't have the motivation to do it yet.

I did it to my 3770k back before I sold that pc

The difference was insane tho, literally a 20c difference between stock and delid on my old 3770k under load

Maybe I keep getting processors that have had a shitty TIM job done.

If you're trying to spend as little as possible and the market actually fixes itself, it should be easy to get a system for 1080p games at £450. A bit close to £350 if you dealhunt really hard. If you want to have only new parts, aim for £650. If you can get a "broken" system with mostly working parts off a neighbor or from a scrapyard, or can grab an older prebuilt like an HP Z440 for cheap enough, you'll be able to do £130 or something if the used GPU market recovers

but if nothing recovers, save £900 and build 10400/f + 3060ti or save £700 and camp stock websites for a prebuilt sale

oops, I'm using USD, darn. Converted it, but it seems strangely low, has the US dollar become monopoly money in comparison? The US and UK had pretty equivalent prices after conversion in 2019 though, so hopefully that sticks in the future

if the gpu is dead because components desoldered off, you might be able to resolder with a heatgun and pressure. If it's more than that, you need some pretty expensive equipment and be able to specialize in component repair to do it.

Usually for it to stick semi-permanently, you want to completely remove it, scrape off the old solder, and add solder balls between the board and the component.

@jovial tide Looks like there's an asterisk next to your cpu for that compatability list, that usually means a bios update is required or some other special consideration.

went to the boot tab
then selected advanced options
then there was a check mark to select number of processors
the check mark was checked and even though it was selected at 2 cores
i unchecked the mark and restarted

When you invoke a command like this:
.command arg1 arg2 arg3
the command function needs to look like command(self, ctx, arg1, arg2, arg3)

When you do .bigpoll hi, hi, hi, hi, since your command only accepts one argument, the first hi, gets assigned to questions_and_opts

and the others don't have a space to go.
Instead use .command(self, ctx, *args). args will be a tuple(I think?) of the arguments

.bigpoll hi, hi, hi, hi will have args = ('hi,', 'hi,', 'hi,', 'hi')

also you'll want to add a \n after at the end of desc += f"{EMOJI[num]} {option}" so they show up in their own line
