Oi guys eye need some assistance with a technical issue. I am attempting to play 7.1 audio through my sound system using a Sony Bravia TV. However, I understand that Android devices limit the ability to play DTS HD Master Audio and Dolby Atmos TrueHD DTS:X. On the other hand, LG TVs do not support DTS at all due to licensing concerns.
How can I play DTS:X or Dolby Atmos TrueHD using the TV’s native player without purchasing an external device like the Nvidia Shield Pro? I am currently using a 9.2.1 soundbar that supports all audio codecs, including DTS:X and TrueHD. When I attempt to play 7.1 TrueHD, the soundbar indicates that I am using Dolby Audio, but I am unsure if it is 5.1 or 7.1.
Using a PC set to 7.1 audio, I can access Dolby Atmos on the PC via the Dolby app and even use audio passthrough with Kodi on the PC. I have tested DTS:X on the PC, and the soundbar has detected it.
