One uses bluetooth and the other uses a 2.4 ghz connection. Using 2.4g almost always requires you to have the Microsoft dongle plugged in and bluetooth requires you to pair the controller from the bluetooth menu in Windows

I dont have the xbox official adapter, I use a regular bluetooth usb adapter for my pc

whenever I use the accessories app to update my firmware, it says that bluetooth is enabled, so I completely disable bluetooth, and wire it up, micro usb. but it still wont connect

Check if you still get crashes offline. There's a chance the cheat groups have caught up. And have HWiNFO or task manager's performance tab up too, in case it correlates with something on the hardware side
