@brave field more like super caps aka the electrolytic capacitors only have a 6 hour charge time before it's power disapates a cmos battery will last 7 years consistently

Basically electrolytic capacitors gain a charge when plugged it and the time you set the Xbox to will be as such as long as that capacitor has the charge

Basically clock cap with charge = remembers time, clock cap with no charge = lost memory

The cmos battery is different as it powers that board I soldered and that board can communicate with the modchip storing the time information as long as the CMOS battery isn't dead

Also as you can tell it's pretty hidden

Everything I have done to this Xbox

RAM upgraded from 64MB to 128MB, complete recap of the motherboard, installed X-RTC, installed HD+ QSB, replaced the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU, modchipped with Open Xenium which is flashed with PrometheOS, red backlit LED controller ports, upgraded the IDE cable from a 40 pin 40 wire to a 40 pin 80 wire, added a startech sata adapter, upgraded the HDD from 8GB to 2TB

The HD+ QSB is the newest addition it basically cleans up signal from the GPU and CPU

How do your games compare to back compat on series consoles?

I can run some of them in 720p 16:9 where as some game the Series X won't even output them in 16:9 and on Series X it won't run Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge Of The Sith at 60fps but I made it run at 60fps on my original xbox
