Linux runs fine on a hard drive but the other annoyances that come with dual booting might not be worthwhile. Or, consider a VM on a type-2 hypervisor, like Virtualbox/VMWare/HyperV and putting its disk image on the hard drive instead of repartitioning

Hey guys I got a question for a GTA clip I captured through my Xbox Series X. It's an Xbox generated clip, I didn't use a proper capture card or anything. If I watch it through the Xbox clip link that got automatically generated, it looks fine if I'm using my phone but anything bigger than a smartphone screen will make it struggle to keep a stable framerate. So this is how it looks on my laptop when I watch it through the Xbox link:

However, when I watch the same clip through VLC, it looks smooth. But as soon as I upload it into a video editing software, the framerate drops again so I'm wondering if it would look smooth if I upload it to Youtube. Anyone's had a similar issue?

@terse chasm Do you have any info on the resolution and codec of the clip? Screen size itself does not affect playback, but Xbox may be giving you different codecs based on your operating system. Your video editing program might not support the codec they send to desktops properly regardless of where the video file comes from

There were 2 issues

First one, the framerate of both video editing softwares that I use were not synced with the source clip

they were on 30 FPS vs 60

Then I made various copies of the original clip to trim a few seconds here and there and only the original version was clean. All the trimmed versions had damaged FPS

Now it's fine, it runs smoothly on both softwares so it's cool but thanks for trying to help
