Earlier today, a different friend called me about his PC that wouldn't turn on at all but turned on just fine at the shop, and the guys there asked him whether it wouldn't turn on in the mornings. I remembered the earlier story when I heard and turns out both motherboards were Gigabyte.
Was wondering if anyone else encountered it and what a scientific explanation for it might be temperature? humidity? magic?

Current working theory is the PSU borked the motherboard somehow and made it sensitive to changes in temperature/humidity that makes it not turn on in the mornings. The guy who reported the issue an year ago said the issue came back twice more, both times on Gigabyte motherboards. Wish I could test this personally but I'm too far away from them

if it's a desktop computer then u can just connect the solid state ssd drive, move the data over, disconnect the hard disk hdd drive
if you can't plug two at once then you can use one of those to connect the ssd externally temporarily

i use paragon hard disk manager for cloning drives
if you want to preserve timestamps and stuff then that would work, alternatively you can use the windows built in program called robocopy, but in my experience it's real slow, took over an hour one time to copy about 55gb
if you don't care about timestamps then you can just copy the files manually

Honestly, if you're not migrating an OS to the new drive you can simply copy-paste all the files from the old drive to the new drive.
