most of them don't have a soldered port but you could get one of these
into one of these (the female variant)
and then the last one is soldered to the booster
the good thing about MT3608 is the variable resistor that lets you adjust the output voltage
i burned a couple of them and also ruined a usb cable trying to pry it open to get the wires i need to solder them to the booster but in the end it worked out alright
needed that to power a computer fan from usb and as u know computer fans use 12v
though it was too loud at 12 but i was able to bring it down to 8-9 thanks to the variable resistor
first thing i'd do is replacing those pesky potentiometers
dunno it served me well
my dumb ass thought i could use one to bring 24v down to 12 and of course it burned because i just kept spinning
it was then when i learned that they only go up
hmmm maybe he's looking for a totally different application
I've done that once too, but it wasnt my fault, the potentiometer was already turned beyond its limit and.... explosion!
i learnt do get rid of those pepega potentiometers ASAP! and replace them with these:
that makes the board worth like 20x more in raw parts tho
well yea but atleast it makes ur life easier, i mean way easier
thats the module i sent the picture
not sure what module he is using tho
may be a different one
yeah but i thought it was just like any voltage up/down converter for some shenanigans so that's why i suggested the other one but after looking it up on aliexpress i found out that these have a specific purpose
heres the exploded one
i reused its heatsinks for some other project
it was a step-up converter
oh btw look at this ancient intel cpu:
bet you never saw these before
I don't see zipties
i don't think i existed even as a piece of cum when these were in use
Fake
Same tbh
I held one before
Glad that i didn't live in that crappy era
Everyone doing shits their own way
Standards are a joke
yea! i dont even know what intel were thinking by designing such a cpu
@lapis haven The original microUSB version. I have a boost converter with USB-A out, pretty much a USB port on a PCB with a + and - terminal. The USB-A is outputting super low amperage. The TP4056 works fine otherwise, I think
What I'm doing is already stupid though, I guess. An 18650 battery at 4.2v outputting 5v via the boost converter connected to the TP4056, being fed into a microcontroller that converts the 5v back to 3.3v. Just don't want to spend the money and a week waiting on an LDO or something similar
The TP4056 doesn't do any converting on the output side, only converting inputs from some 3-6v (microusb/usbc/+ and - next to the port) down to whatever the 18650 needs to start charging.
you got me confused here tbh, could you draw a simple diagram of the parts you are using and how they are connected?
are you using a single cell for this whole circuit?
like this?
im pretty sure there much better ways to do this
It's been ages since I've seen one of those. Pentium 2 processor, right?
I remember my dad getting upset over those cpus falling out of the slots xD
This may be the wrong place but
I need a profile picture for my server
a logo in such
Any tips on free image software I can use to put together a decent quality logo?
GIMP absolutely if you're good with programs of the sort, though I think blender is far easier for making both 2D and 3D logos
illustrator might be a better option though ngl (idk what the foss alternative is)
@lapis haven
Perfect
thats right, "Pentium II Deschutes" according to wiki.
I have the board aswell, I'll send photos later.
a few questions:
1 - are you using a single cell battery? if so, you should use more than 1, I'd say 3 or 2 as bare minimum, in parallel.
2 - what is the end consumer? i mean is it an arduino?
3 - make sure the usb cable connected from the converter to the microcontroller is not too long.
you just made it so complicated imho, but you said you dont want to buy something else. it can be simpler like using a powerbank module, so both the charger module and the boost conv. could be integrated in one package.
also, the switch should be here instead imo, because even if there is no load connected to the module, it still draws afew mili-amps from the battery, secretly draining the battery:
How do I know which cable is a IPTV cable for my tv box
How is it distinguished from a Ethernet
you vs the guy she tells you not to worry about
Fr!
im the guy on the right
im just a sad lonely intel stock cooler
offline download anyone?
DAS ORIGINAL
yes its a german company
good ol' days...
used to grab random files from the sky with that bad boy
:0
Fuck is that
no! from satellite providers which also provided internet access in the past (like Eutelsat) ,basically someone from another country for example started to download a file, the satellite would propagate the data at the user in a way that if any other user had a satellite dish and one of these cards, could also grab a copy of the same file.
no but you grabbed files from the sky as u said
that means it was a cloud storage

you could say, yes
and 70% of the files were...
eheem
adult videos

...
there were nerds who could tweak those cards and set them as their internet connection's receiver device, and used a dial-up modem as the send device
they could download/peruse the net almost free of charge, ofc not the whole internet, just some specific european websites
That is interesting
Never knew they exist
I'm such a zoomer
DVB cards still are in use tho
I stole many content with it yes
I've recorded tons of metal/rock concerts and music videos with that thing.
well, its always better to have the tv on your pc
True
@lapis haven Thanks so much. 😃 I had the switch there because the TP4056 supposedly has an undercharge protection IC (the rightmost small black one on the PCB?), and with load sharing, I was told there was risk of it instead overcharging because the load would tell the module that the cell isn't full yet. End consumer is the chip at the bottom that consumes 3.3v. Do you know of a powerbank that outputs the 3.3v directly? Seems it would be easier to just replace the USB-A board with an LDO and keep the rest of the circuit, no?
one cell, yes. I have others, but no holder, and I feel weird soldering directly onto a battery's terminals. Heat concern
Why not buy a battery charger
avoiding spending, limited time, I'd end up throwing out pretty much every part I have for the project. The solar panel also doesn't output a stable 5v into a powerbank without some sort of extra board to do that
yes! I meant that protection circuit, which uses battery power even when theres no load. when you dont use the controller, you just turn the switch off, no need to worry about undercharge of the battery anyway, you could say its a better way to make sure the battery wont undercharge, instead of relying on the circuit.
about the microcontroller board, what board is it?... does it need only 3.3v? then why are you using the boost converter?
you could use only the charger module's output directly connected to the m.controller. I think the charger module also regulates the output of the cell so the boost converter seems to be completely redundant.
I think only 1 cell is abit too low for all those stuff, current wise, it'd be better to add more cells to double/triple the current capability
ESP32 devkit1, it has an onboard 5v to 3.3v for its USB port and VIN pin. The board itself runs on 3.3v, but tolerates 2.8 to 3.5v or so. The TP4056 out pins output the battery's voltage directly, and the battery being 3.8v or the 4.2v it outputs when full is high enough to fry the board. The boost converter accepts any voltage the battery outputs and turns it into a stable 5v, so the onboard microcontroller regulator can convert it back down. Hugely inefficient
oh, I thought the TP4056 also regulates the output...
with your current setup, does the microcontroller even work? or it doesnt turn on?
it turns on and works. Just drains really fast, low amperage, and I'm taking that fire risk
well, im afraid the only solution for this whole circuit (which is indeed very inefficient) is to add more cells to increase the capacity/duration of the operation.
is it necessary fot the ESP32 to be mobile? i mean is it necessary for it to be powered only with battery?
aww
Yes. It will be running outside in a waterproof junction box, far from any sort of outdoor-safe AC power source
So for some reason, my internet is broken
I live in NA yet when i search for NA servers in battlefield, it still shows up as 300+ ping
Same for every other mp game
Any solution?
pc btw
yea, you can add more cells, or use a module like S7V8F3 which is an efficient auto step-up/step-down converter which outputs a fixed 3.3v.
@feral crest Make sure you're not using wireless, and then head to speedtest.net, fast.com, or librespeed, and check if your ping to those servers is high too.
S7V8F3
Perfect, thanks!
Well i only have wi-fi... not internet
ethernet*
This is what i get (i have slow wifi i know)
no problem man, that is exactly what you need, input is from 2.7v-11v and output can be set from 2.5v-8v, fixed, while input can be lower or higher, perfect for the cell battery which changes from 4.2v at full state to around ~2.9 at low state
I know your goal was to not spend money but, its the only way.
today (so tomorrow) i'm redesigning the audio interface holder
the previous design hasn't stood the test of time very well
curiously, the plastic has permanently deformed
Hot
is that flexible material?
no it's just normal pla
why is it deformed like that?
under stress it has had a bad time
i figured 2mm would be thick enough as the audio interface isn't heavy, but obviously that was wrong
so the fix is to make it bigger
are those material heat sensitive?
well yes but the hottest this room has ever been is like 30c
its not about the room, the back of you monitor maybe gets hot? or the audio unit itself?
hmm
triangles aren't that nice to print at a fairly low resolution
all of the beams will be t-shaped in the v2
@feral crest Any of these? Seems Microsoft/Azure is having some issues
Now that i think about it, i think the lagging began after i did some auto network fix for the xbox application
@brave field I have come to bargain!
A friend has asked for a pc to run Apex Legends, or or runs minecraft on Medium well.
Budget, country, display res/refresh?
Probably about 1k, us, she just wants it to play better than xbox
She's asking if she should just get an xbox Series
She she's not gotten to play on pc before
I was thinking of recommending she just get an xb, but wanted to ask if you could beat it. She's ok with a prebuilt
She should probably just go with the xbox. A PC won't be fulfilling if your only goal is to run two games better than an Xbox One. Price-wise, very doable though.
Series S
I agree
But it’s a bit down on storage (expansion SSDs are expensive lol) and no 4K gaming
But I don’t think most people play on 4K tvs tbf
I'll tell her yea
Thank
minecraft is god awful on controller
Its fine
Plus minecraft now lets you use mnk on console
And it works the exact same
Also, How does one know what is using the most wifi in my house? My ps and laptop are struggling lag wise and they never used to do that
your router probably logs the bandwidth usage per device
so login to your router and start looking
What else does it say in the area where it says it is off? Could you send a screenshot with Win+Shift+S?
What other things does it say?
Do you have another antivirus, an activator program, driver updater, or a school/work account?
so glad to hear AMD is moving from PGA to LGA
I was about to start buying the parts i needed for my build, I think i should wait and see what the new 7000 series are gonna offer, then I'll decide.
I'll miss it. Return policy is much nicer on the CPU end than the board end.
so what's the benefit
are people actually bending so many pins it's an issue
not to mention how hard the socket pins are to fix
you can pull PGA CPUs straight out of the socket while removing the cooler, depending on how the mounting system is
funny i just took my cpu cooler off
had the pc running for a while so it was still warm
wiggle it side to side and it came right off
AMD's allows for your shiny new 5950X to have bent pins day 1, while your cheapo $60 board survives it all. I think there's some minor science thing that lets LGA CPUs draw a bit more power somehow too. Secure PGA mounting isn't impossible or anything though. They could just use a door on top like Intel does
not like intel's mounting system is even good lol
LGA's draw more power? is that really a thing? I didn't know that
no source provided, take with grain. I recall it saying they have the capacity to, but don't require it or anything.
Pins are smaller though, so there's maybe some space/heat efficiency there? They already neglect PGA for their top end CPUs for... some reason.
PGA is the inverted version of LGA imo
I don't think that'll be too obvious, i mean the power consumption. not sure though, just by imagining how the 2 type contact the cpu in my mind, they dont seem to be much different.
considering AMD has always been paying much attention to power optimization, this decision could falsify that if the power consumption thing is really true.
this is somehow a big change for AMD, no one really knows yet, maybe that'll come out to be true.
how ugly would it be to have a blue and red speaker
very good price but it's a mismatched pair
why though!
yeah i dunno
btw you using monitoring speakers right?
right now yes
you make music by any chance?
no i listen to music
aha fair enough
mfs got like a $2000 pc but listen to music on these
if u build your setup around a specific theme
or if you just take them apart and paint them

red and blue match well enough
well yeah but it's like the most toy looking shit ever
until you press the play button
well not everyone is into music, and gamers usually use headphones so its a good price cut
and they use terrible headphones too
probably
im not a headphone fan myself
cans with muffled mids and crushed lows, perfect
Kraken is trash I agree, and steelseries has durability issues.
I got this as my main audio system, unlike its goofy/bulky look, it actually has pretty decent gain and base, and not to mention it is also too old too
: (pic is not mine)
it is actually too good that I use it as my guitar amp too
baller
these old media centers are the shit
frfr ong no cap

i also remember listening to rammstein on one of those systems
it was like mid 2000s
are you me

unfortunately the right speaker on mine started farting (totally not because i punched it in like a moron one day)
and so 10 years later we threw it away
well luckily they're worth nothing now
you can pick up a system for free and live those memories again
we also threw away mostly all the cds because it turned out that basically all of them were pirated
well i knew the mp3 comps were pirated but it turned out the legit looking ones were too
what do you expect from 90-2000 russia

i my parents couldn't afford such luxury then and i can't afford such luxury now
not those old japanese bookshelf speakers and amplifiers though, they are still very expensive after like 40+ years, and those mfs still perform like the first day, the audio quality is 🤌
well of course good equipment is still worth money
old japanese HiFi systems are too OP
Old Mcintosh amps are $$$
What about the speakers in those old 50+in projector TVs?
Ive got a few friends that are super in to vinyl that rave about them
solid state is easy and cheap less expensive and uncolored
I would simp for an original tube amp, but i dont find any
@brave field what u think
true beauty
can't see the price, but absolutely pass if >$900
$1,129
Oof
Any reccs for pre built?
Looking for rtx 3060
I misjudged, $900 is on the low side, but $1100 is too close to the price of a 3060ti system back when they were unobtainable. No recommendations, sorry.
nice, you made that?
Yes, but the PAM8620 doesn't like them. Static.
$250 to $350. Real sellers with years of feedback under the recently sold auctions search.
you using switching PS for it?
yes
thats the culprit
audio systems usually use the old linear transformers because there is no high freq chip to disrupt the audio output, using a step-down AC-AC transformer and a full bridge rectifier should eliminate the noise.
speaking of audio things
i want to make my own headphones
but the problem is, the drivers i want to use have been out of stock for like 6 months now
you wanna print the frame?
obviously
neat!
cnc would be cooler but out of my budget
which drivers are they?
peerless hpd-50n25pr00-32
they seem to be really nice
I Have bought an ASUS dual rtx 3050 for 1570 SAR which is equivalent to 419 USD is that a good deal?
sounds like a godawful deal these days but maybe it's different in your market
Stupid question but can you convert digital units to physical?
Like implying bites have any mass or something
ðŸ§
How much kg is a byte
Depends how dense the storage is
At most? A few atoms
With modern storage
information has no weight
i mean
if it did
our brains should've gained like a ton of weight since our birth
Sir einstein's brain probably weights 10tons
Yeah as I said the closest you can get is physical storage to attributing 'weight' to data. Like if you look how much equipment was required to store mere kilobytes in the 60/70/80s, it was alot of equipment
But the data itself has no attributable weight per se
or kilobytes in a byte

well that comparison is somehow irrelevant to the subject of the discussion, the data itself, i think he asked about that.
well ofc, the 'mediums' that we store data on have shrunk through the years, but that doesnt have anything to do with the actual data. data has been the same since the beginning
Yeah I realise, as I said, data itself has no physical weight,
So the closest relevance there is, would be the data medium
Data is essentially just electrical signals, so electrons, so pieces of data would weigh literally mere atoms
Transmitted via electrical signals, those ones and zeros represent on/off
yes
BUT we could also include mechanical computation, butt that's a whole different can of worms so I won't go there
an electron weight in kg according to wiki:
Aka: literally nothing
Literally a single atom
Pretty lightweight
right
thats the case for computers
the information probably is stored in different form in brain for example
Let's.... Not. Neurological sciences is an even more fucky can of worms than mechanical computing xD
yea let's not
Neurological sciences in a nutshell: we don't know how it works, we just know THAT it works
Yeah ofc data is stored in a very different way than a brain. Also what Alpha just said.
We store all that in infastructure. And communicate back and forth with servers. While data is stored on hard drives.
thats why i always say nature is like a billion years ahead of us in technology
we literally know 0 yet
There's so much to learn about the universe for sure
It's like gravity. We know gravity exists, we just can't see 'physical' forces of it
'Oh but you can't see air either' yes you can, using a high powered microscope you can see, and detect all the different elements
But there's just, no known element that acts gravity
There's theories around a fourth atom - the gravitron, but it's yet to be proven to exist
Gravity is a real bamboozler
Oh and don't get me started on the likes of antimatter and dark matter xD
There are also these wierd places across earth that have lighter or heavier gravity. Which are typically places of tourism.
Yes please start

Also strange matter too. Interesting stuff.
Amtimatter is scary stuff
It makes fusion reactors look tame
Sun in a box? How about a single gram being able to produce more energy than the earth has used, ever
Ah yes just right after i watched spiderman 2
I think it'd be a pretty terrifying situation. Just, creating a sun.
I sometimes sink myself in these thoughts man, they give me legit goosebumps
Star i mean oops
I love hearing funny stories about CERN nearly blowing up particle accelerators because they accidentally made nanograms of antimatter
People say religion is all mythical, but no, the real mythical is the science extremes like antimatter
They do be doing rituals that look pretty sus down there at CERN
Lul
The thing I find fascinating
It took humans longer to go from bronze swords to iron swords than it did to go from iron swords to harnessing the atom (nuclear)
Yeah now we can just bomb each other to oblivion and leave a radioactive wasteland
Once the foundations were laid about nuclear sciences, it's opened up quite literally endless possibilities
Even outside of nuclear, the science of medicine has come so far in the last 100 years
We're probably barely touching the surface of anything though event know. In a millenia things will look quite different in scale.
it would certainly be like how we're comparing the old eras.
And material sciences, and literally every science field, has come so far in even just a century
Yeah too bad there are a lot of people who want to use those sciences for evil intentions. There is good, but also evil as well.
We're building skyscrapers on a daily basis that make the pyramids look like child's play
Sir Eienstein really suffered for the misuse of his achievements
Well that's humans for you though. We like to "size each other up" Who's got the biggest tower.
We definitely have not changed much even now.
Hey, better to use skyscrapers for dick measuring contests than invading other countries. Least skyscrapers are peaceful
Yeah i'm sure he did regret it. Just like the scientists who participated in the creation of the nuclear bomb.
With great power comes great responsibility. And holy shit are there a lot of irresponsible people.
Thank goodness for the sticks
All our buildings, made of sticks even now. Our tools are what got us this far. Pretty cool.
Also am I the only one that thinks alien movies are stupid? If aliens cone to earth, and they're even remotely flesh based life forms, we don't need some fancy plasma gun to kill them, literally if it's a flesh meat bag, treat them like humans and just use bullets
And if that doesn't work? Do what we do best and USE BIGGER BULLETS
And if that Doesn't work?
I think hollywood is trying to warm us up to real aliens or something smh.
It would be a pretty unbiased world war. Yeah.
And if tanks still don't cut it? Screw killing them, literally deconstruct them limb from limb, like so
There's always swords.
idk why they don't use shotguns very much. Like really? You have dragon's breath even...
Literally if we can't kill them with tanks, just recommision the Iowa class and let the 406mms say fuck you and everyone within 30m of you
And if that doesn't work?
Pew Pew
Or just nuke them from orbit
Like, if humans are good at one thing and one thing only, we kill shit..... really effectively
But that would make the movie too short
5 min movie. If only in the very first Alien movie they actually went through the correct operating procedures. The other movies wouldn't exist.
And it's like, zombie movies
Zombies, are slow as fuck
The Military wouldn't collapse, literally two dudes and a machine gun could sit there for hours killing entire hordes
WELL there are actual cases of people biting people. Being on seriously heavy drugs. Zombies are sort of a thing i guess you could say.
^
thats why i hate the sci-fi genre
No the military wouldn't collapse. Zombies couldn't even happen. I don't think. They would be slow, weak. And they're probably starve to death rather quickly.
Zombies aren't smart... they won't even dodge, they're literally going to WALK TOWARDS the loud noises and flashes and make it EASIER to kill them
Yeah they're brain function would be extremely low.
Sure you know there are plenty of humans on this planet who do some very stupid things.
(Right side text)
I like the "Hee-hee" shotgun go boom guy
Lel
He looks a lot happier
Like, the right side of the meme is so true
It's true though
You can just quietly hoard large amounts of ammo in a backpack. Sneak it back and forth to a really good spot. Then sit there and shoot zombies all day. Like, a water tower would be perfect too. Not with a shotgun of course, A hunting rifle with a scope.
It wouldn't be very difficult at all to wipe out zombies all day.
Why horde ammo in a backpack... just have your backpack BE the ammo
That would be perfect
Oh well not everyone has access to that kind of equipment though
No need to reload, you've got what, 650 round belt at your disposal
But it would be an easy win for the military. The hardest part would be body disposal.
And we circle back to the reason the military wouldn't collapse... this backpack

Ah yes ze flammenwerfer
Its a good corpse disposal tool xD
Also a very fun weapon
Hell yes
Being the corpse disposal team in the military during a zombie apocalypse would be fun as fuck lel
No need to bring a sack lunch either. Just roast some chicken on break.
It would be rather enjoyable
why shoot bullets? those deep quarries could make a good grave for them, just lure them into it, then one rocket and you get rid of like a thousand, body disposal problem also solved
And even if a zombie catches you off guard.... you've got a flamethrower... Literally could not ask for a better CQC weapon
I don't even really think you'd have to aim for their head. Realistically a pile of decaying flesh wouldn't stand up very well to much.
You don't even need to aim
Literally just, press trigger and sweep side to side
Yes oh yes for ze flammenwerfer
And I mean.... Automatic shotguns exist too
here in the US 100% legal to build your very own flamethrower.
Exactly
selling cpu anyone interested
How unsharp do you want your picture to be? Yes
ma dude torn that poor mobo apart and took it out with the socket
value added bonus
is that an athlon?
pretty sure it's a phenom
how on earth are you people reading that? Could it be an FM2+ A4 APU?
speaking of AMD...
Y2K fixes not implemented
But can it run crysis
no
can it run msfs
It can run some bitches
last time i checked it could run twisted metal 2 with acceptable framerate
Hot
i lost its hard drive, it had win98 on it
30 years from now, people look at RTX 3080 of today and will feel the same as you are feeling for this old man

@brave field I ended up ordering this
man
why do i buy shit at the worst time
bought my 1440p 34 inch 60 hz for hella money
worth nothing in a year and also no adaptive sync
That’s unfortunate
Use the 34 inch as a tv
bought 32gb of ram in 2018 for hella money
can get like 128gb these days for the same price
Damn
Poor lil oreo
that particular monitor is dead rn anyway
O
the tv I use on my xbone
Is like the size of a monitor
Could be 27 inch idk
Maybe 24
consoles don't even know what is a 1440p
series S is limited to 1440p anyway

I’ll get that instead of series X because
My tv is 1080p

And it’ll perform a bit better after this dev kit update thing
i hate the trend of tvs going absolutely massive
like who wants a 77 inch tv
at least lg has the c2 in 42 inch
i want a 77 inch tv
no you don't
though 65 is the most perfect fit for a 4x1 ikea kallax
no i mean
i don't need a 77 inch tv
but i want one
65 inch is about as massive as you can get
Man i want a 88inch tv as well
i want a 77 inch tv because it's hard to read discord on a 65 inch

when u lay on the floor in preparation for an anime marathon
12 inch laptop is all anyone could need
a 65 inch tv is already bigger diagonally than me

its not about how huge the screen is, its about how dense the pixels are
personally a 24inch screen is more than enough for me, unless im moving to console

Does anybody happen to know which of the current crop of GPUs (either 6xxx/3xxx) offers best price:performance?
Would a 3060Ti be good for high/ultra everything on AAA games at 1440?
no not really
ultra... eh? Probably does super well if you throw that out. Some games' "ultra" won't run on a 3090 either.
Id say the esports titles probably would run fine on 1440p
On high, some on ultra
With AAA... really depends
Maybe with DLSS
Since its 1440p and the DLSS image compression wouldnt be as noticeable
Any expert Angular devs here?

Do you have the drivers installed for the motherboard and Ethernet port?
Yo someone sended me free mod menu what do i do with IT cus hè says you need to turn of anti virus and then something popped up And IT sayed Anti malware ?
what to do with a "free" executable a stranger sent you:
DONT RUN IT.
you also have to report that dude to modmail
lol
Cant find that channel
modmail?
Hi, I would like to learn game development.
I start a computer science degree in few days so i'm not worried about the coding and networking stuff.
I wonder in terms of modelling, animation and 2D drawing, which software should I learn ?
I will use Unity game engine during my degree.
Sounds like a recipe for a disaster
Do not download and extract free mod menus, some are spoofed as token loggers, and as soon as you extract it, they will have alot of your information. Just be safe and dont trust everything you get.
Does rebuilding the database on ps4 delete anything?
I know that it doesn't but I need to be 100% sure
Any hardware expert here? My desktop not starting up (after pressing the power button it switches off automatically within a second.) What you think can cause this?
Finally saved enough to get myself a decent setup, isn't much to most people I imagine here but took about a year of savings to get this rig, desk and peripherals. Zotac 3070 Ti, Asus B660 MOBO, i5 12400f, Duel-Channel 32GB Geil Orion 3200mhz Ram, two 2TB Samsung nVme SSDs, EVGA 750watt Psu
(Also my phone is doo doo, that's why theres so much exposure and Lens Flare)
Nice
Probably PSU issue
Lens flare is usually caused by a dirty lens so clean it.
i brushed the lens on my shirt that i've worn for 2 days in a row for a couple seconds so good enough
ty, my setup before this upgrade was a EVGA 980 Ti and i5 7600 that i had for like 7 years
and Fury 8gb ram
Think so....send to technician for checking. He said it's either PSU or motherboard
Nice what budget range?
All
how much of that build was the ssds?
good shit
great specs fr
been wanting to get more nvme in my pc for a while
Guys I’m wondering why an external hard drive that has its own power supply and charger actually takes up 20 watts of your pc power consumption
Is the usb connection enough to generate that kind of power?
I have like a couple externals connected and my 750w psu is not holding up lmaoo
is it a 3.5 or 2.5 hard drive?
3.5
yeah already plugged in and working but im just wondering why it taking up my psu power consumption
yeah but isn't it powered by its own power supply
did some google search as well and clearly uses around 20 watts of my psu even with external power supply connected
weird
gonna have to upgrade to 1200w soon
wait how is it even connected to your pc and external psu
its connected via usb 3.0 port and the psu im talking about is the one powering the pc
the external hard drives have their own power supplies (i.e. chargers)
i still dont understand how are these external hard drives are connected by USB and also by external chargers at the same time
they are because 3.5 uses more power than your average usb stick
somehow they also take up your psu consumption
this is above my knowledge
does anyone know c++?
Ty, only thing I want to get now is a NZKT AIO cooler
Cause gif screen
Just using the stock Intel CPU fan cooler atm
But gif
CAM software is garbage
It may be garbage. But having a cat eating bread gif permanently illuminating my case is 100% worth
Aesthetic > functionality..
(I joke pls don't flame me)
Show cat
I don't have cat yet
Bro
Ay ay ay I'm thinking ahead alright
Makin plans
You never jump straight into situations without careful planning
Rookie mistake
Although I kinda wish I took my Noctua Cooler out off my old PC before I sold it
Basically sold a half dead 980 ti with a good Noctua Cooler for $250
i think asus also have one with a screen?
lemme see if corsair offer one
corsair does have one
OOOUUUU
I thought it was only the NZXT Kraken Z series that had the addressable led screen
If Corsair have one im getting that
yeah ICue is a much better eco system
Yee, even though my eco rn is Logitech, Aura and Firestorm
Logitech G hub for my keyboard, Mouse and Headset that is
i have nothing with rgb
i have zero RGB software running in my system tho
my motherboard can deal with RGB from the BIOS
as for the keyboard... programmed it and disabled the software
same for the mouse
Still better than MSI Mystic but you do be spitting facts
omg msi RGB software is baad but stil miles better than gigabyte that can brick your system lol
this is why signal RGB is the best solution nowadays
Nice
Yeah Zotacs Firestorm isn't great but still better than Gigabyte or MSI and I use Aura for my Ram RGB. My chassis fans are static so can't change those
omg static fan speed is TERRIBLE
Or soild, whatever term you prefer to use
I meant RGB static
As in can't change RGB
Their Soild Blue, pink and Yellow
OHHHH These
can you like
yeet them and get some arctic p12s
5 awesome fans for 30 bucks
After buying the GPU, CPU, ram, motherboard and PSU I cut corners where I could to save a couple dollars
yeah cut corners by buying and AIO with screen

you better off buying one of these small screens that plugs by HDMI
i'm going to put arctic p12s on my gpu
it'll be like the asus x noctua gpu but shittier
WWWW
but they gonna look better than noctua for the same performance
and like 4 times cheaper
You one a them size matters types?
I'm joking
idk why they have a flash drive in that pic
Ay I might get one of those for my car ngl
skull emoji
btw what kind of shit case you bought to get these fans?
Airflow cases are instantly 60% better just cause airflow
Air make hardware go brr it cold
Nah I watched a Linus Tech Tips video about airflow cases so it's gospel
for example NZXT tried to make an airflow case but drilling holes and the case still sucks compared to others
it says airflow tho
How dare you question god you heretic
i bought my lancool 2 mesh becsaue it's a charts topper and filled with features
not just a case with mesh front
I wanted a Lian Li mesh airflow case but couldn't get one that synced with the rest of my items
so i went with this instead https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/cases/atx/90926-dp-atx-matrexx50-mesh-4fs?gclid=CjwKCAjwi8iXBhBeEiwAKbUofVDIS87bHJx9EqUQ0YKXZyjolI_c39CE3UWFvVup76otRV7DwTlMahoCuuYQAvD_BwE
Deepcool MATREXX 50 MESH 4FS Black ATX Case, 4mm Tempered Glass Panel, No PSU, 2x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.0, HD Audio, 4x 120mm RGB Fans Pre-installed at Scorptec.com.au, the online Gaming PC, server computer and technology experts. Fast delivery to Australia.
So I'm gonna go with a top mounted 240mm aio
Not a chart topper, but is good where it matters
Make sure that your ram or motherboard heatsink wont interfere with your AIO
Yeah I'm not gonna go out out and spend $300-$400 on an aio and just try to slap it on. I like to do my research
Holly shit
Australian Dollar
My aio was like 90$ and im pretty sure it's gonna destroy whatever corsair, nzxt or asus offers
I won't be that fortunate
Are you in America?
Yeah but i don't live in the states rn
Ay same. I'm from Nashville TN but live in Australia
Me from new york living in Turkey
Hell yeah, my grandparents were in Turkey at one stage
Is cheap and good weather
Australia is not cheap and semi good weather. But jobs pay well so that's why I'm still here and not America
Yeah I heard
I lived in Canada and some other places, all better than NYC
Any other Prominent English speaking country (i.e, Any country under the Commonwealth or America) is better than America
And I'm American so I speak facts
State?
ugly ui
picked this stack up for 7 dollars today
idk what to even do with them but more fans = good
if I become a fan of you I'd be called a fan of a fan of a fan

what if i become a fan of you
a fan of a fan of a fan of a fan
oleg I hope you dont have any fans

ah good
fr
actually i have an idea
3d printed side panel with fan mounts for more airflow
just like old times
3d printed side panel mount for one of these
Hot
I'd legit use one of these AC ones, so i can easily control the speed with an AC dimmer
cuz they are bigger
I stacked three of them with zipties before and I use them to cool me while working.
Old photo
Now i use a noctua NF-A15
Hol up
U just gave me the battery idea...
In the past i used some janky cables to connect it to the PC psu
Now i use a 12v charger
Noctua Superiority
🤨
Go away gus
amd or intel processors
Currently, Intel if you want best performance, AMD if you want price/performance.
Newest intel motherboards are really expensive.
Hey, so im not gonna be able to have ethernet soon as im moving rooms what is a good wifi connector
Around £50 budget
I used to go for intel all the time
Moved to amd
Its a beast
you know 50 pounds would buy you a lot of ethernet cable
Bro
I cant have ethernet
Anymore
Boom
why not
I used to have ethernet lol
Cos im moving into new room
And cant run cable into it
Cos its on bottom floor
Its new extension
needing wifi is just a mindset
Dont be any help then lmao
Hey, so im not gonna be able to have ethernet soon as im moving rooms what is a good wifi connector
£50 budget
@lost fossil sorry ik ur good at pcs do u have any idea 😂
Idk whats good or not
there are not a good wifi
No good at all?
because your router might also suck
exactly
With ethernet 150mbp
wifi in general is bad for gaming
some houses have their cables in pipes inside the walls
Its a new extension im moving into so
He doesnt wanna ruin the walls with lots of holes
Andiits on bottom floor
As i said
Its nothing to do with the goddamn cable
Its the fact that my dad doesnt want any holes drilled in walls cos its a new room and new walls so he doesnt want them ruined
you don't have to run it internally
ðŸ˜
Nor does he want a wire running through hallway and shit lol
The way it is the router in front room
Front room enters hallway on left going to kitchen on right going to door to outside
My room will be directly infront
maybe talk to your father?
try to convince him?
you cant have good/reliable online gaming experience with wifi, no matter what adapter you use, period.
This reminds me my slow ass 15 mbps internet is finally gonna get an upgrade after decades at the end of the summer
Hot
man wtf i updated the discord mobile app for the first time in about 6 months and now it looks terrible
profile pics are way too big and the spacing is just weird
it was good before, why do you have to ruin it
it went to 100% with the update
changed it back to 75 which is what i think it was at previously
93% looks kinda okayish but now only like 4 messages fit on screen
this is just like so janky looking

yours looks better but still worse than before
i don't massively care because mobile sucks anyway but god
everything that works has to be ruined
A new update was released a few days ago actually and it suffers from a lot of issues
Expected for a major update
Especially running media, it's a mess
would still be on 15.x if the option was there
nice, thin, rectangular typing area, not having a nitro gifting button and two media buttons with the exact same purpose taking up 8-10% of the screen, more accessibility options, why did they change so much?
i really hate how much of the very limited screen space is taken up by nothing
Who even use the gift button
Literally no one
that's why I stayed on version 16.0 for so long, because I hate having that useless icon
I eventually updated and erased the acutal gift button picture, so now it just looks like nothing is there
button's still functional though
What changed from the update?
In c# if i want to make a project that increases 100 every day would i use a for loop?
Like
For(int i =0; i <=365; i+=100)
{
Console.WriteLine(i)
}
Would that work?
What is the goal of the 365 in the loop? Will it reset after a year? If you run this loop, you'd get 0, 100, 200, 300, and then it would stop
Each day the count increases by 100
So day 1 = 100, day 10 = 1000 and day 365 = 36 500
Wait, shouldn’t the second condition be i<=36500 in that case?
How?
just declare a separate variable before the loop, then increase it inside the loop with each iteration, let theionly do the iteration task.
int value = 0;
for(int i = 0; i < 365 ; i++){
Console.WriteLine(value);
value+=100;
}
I don’t know, haven’t coded in a while but that seemed to make more sense in my head

though im not sure what mechanism are you using to apply the "everyday" logic
and Im not familiar with C#, so there may be other more efficient ways to do it
I mean are you gonna use Thread.Sleep() to represent each day?
My old computer from the good ol days
This can hopefully run a google chrome tab if I’m lucky
Can it run crysis tho?
Yea max settings with ray tracing
That's better than my laptop
I have a regular gamer laptop but it is 17.3 inches so lugging that in a mini suitcase and having it barely fit on the desk is troublesome.
So I wanna make this my school laptop
For taking notes and basic stuff
What do you use for notetaking?
A pen and paper
I don’t bring my RoG laptop to school
Unless it is absolutely necessary
It’s like 11 pounds
Jeez
I only needed to bring it in to take in person tests on our schools website BlackBoard
That was only every once in a while
How do i see my specs
Thankfully the parking lot was close to the building
What is it again
On a mac or windows
Windows
Usually I just go on minecraft to check stats but the proper way would but ctrl shift escape I believe
Actually no there’s a better way
I just forgot how to do it
fan of dxdiag and msinfo but neither show your GPU on the same page
There should be a list on windows settings of just the parts you have I just don’t check it because I never needed to
these prices
2+2 = 4
@brave field which SSD is good
is SATA good?
Looking to add a additonal slot
for my pre-built
it has room
SATA has lower maximum bandwidth on paper, but not all will fit in your system. Unless you're sure your prebuilt has an open m.2 slot compatible with a SATA or NVMe drive, go for a 2.5in SATA SSD of some sort
Both 2.5in and m.2 SATA drives are going to be great options for normal usecases. What sort of things do you plan on doing on the drive? @chrome lotus
you could make that chart extra long by including proprietary apple ssd's
💀
AMD is much better for budget-midrange cus their prices are below MSRP rn
😜 still rocking the ol rx580
every sata ssd is different unless it isn't
just for additonal games
oh yeah
just grab whatever cheapo drive with good GB/$ you can get your hands on. Preferably with DRAM, but even DRAMless will do for just games
Here's some sorting params. You can choose country from the top right: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/internal-hard-drive/#sort=ppgb&t=0
would do dram with tlc if close to dramless with QLC
Silicon Power A55 is superb, hopefully available in their region
Do you have any up-to-date links on controllers? I need to brush up again, but I'm only finding ones back from when the 660p first came out and people fearmongered HDD speeds when their drive was full... and nothing about SLC or MLC
been a while since i fucked with ssd's, heard there were like twenty ssd's that changed from TLC to QLC with a change in controller performance, some big, some small
yupyup
pretty much every highly-acclaimed non-Samsung NVMe drive moved their smaller 256gb and some 512gb models to QLC, and Samsung made their nasty QVO series with prices higher than everyone else's non-QLC drives
so i just fuck around with NVME's considering they're not as bad with dramless or they can't be dramless or something like that
ssd's are for nerds
that's my excuse
Even Helix NVME's?
mmmh, not sure about Helix
I remember Mushkin Enhanced Helix-L or LT are pretty good
Silicon Power A80 was also good
MP33 was good but i think they moved to QLC so substitute with MP34
but for a while, Silicon Power A60/80 and Sabrent Rocket were the only affordable ways to guarantee non-QLC
Crucial P2 was recommended but it also become QLC
Either the WD sn570 or SN550 was good
Yeah it was the Mushkin Enhanced Helix-L that was very recommended
XPG SX8200 was recommended but controller change i forgot perf diff
Hynix gold was praised
Crucial P5 was on sale and that's it
@brave field are you perhaps one of the 1000 people in the world that actually know HDD's
cause i sure don't
