'drifting' is ok on actual drift tracks but abysmal for the canyon tracks, the game somehow looks and feels worse than most wanted, the physics dont feel as tight as they should like they did in most wanted, ux and ui is awful, pursuits are pointless, camera shake is so bad off road that its nauseating, the game is incredibly short and repetitive due to forced padding via territory control races, wingmans feel halfbaked and races essentially always get won by your teammates, it doesn't feel like cars get better with upgrades and the tuning felt watered down from MW @true sedge

i did not finish carbon because it wasn't fun to me

i beat two districts completely and dropped the game

most wanted has its moments of repitition but these intervals are broken up by the pursuits

pursuits in carbon serve almost no threat to the player

no helicopters, spikes arent even that dangerous anymore

pursuit breakers also just respawn unlike in mw where it was limited

the entire game to me screams rushed and afterthought

most wanted had years to be developed so everything feels and looks better

carbon was a cookie cutter game made to capitalize on the success that MW was and in that regard it dropped the ball hard

well thats the thing, MW05 drives like its on rails. Even then I'd say thats it's better to make pursuits optional rather than force them to the player.
However, the game looking WORSE than MW05? MW05 had a yellow piss filter while Carbon looked a bit better... With a blue filter instead.
Carbon had finer tuning that the one in MW (Where you had to pause?) and for customization: MW had a bunch of mods that didnt age well like gauges, vinyls you cant move yet both share stuff like roof scoops and window tint, however in the case of carbon these seem recycled from MW05 judging by the fact that not a single NPC car uses it.
Carbon being boring and repetitive? I'd say Most Wanted was artificially long considering it had 15 bosses

driving in mw05 feels like it should, it never felt on rails unless it was a shitty drag race

i genuinely could not stand how carbon looked, everything looks awful in that game, the cars look like toys and the lighting/color choice only worsened this

vinyls were handled better carbon but tuning was less complicated to do in mw, you adjust it in the pause menu and you can immediately test how it handles, in carbon you always had to go to mod shops just to tune

a lot of content was recycled for carbon because its literally a rushed game that had like less than a year of development

you see EVERYTHING carbon has to offer after the first district and the canyon race, most wanted had a very gradual linear progression by introducing new race modes and eventually allowing your heat to increase to new tiers alongside unlocking new areas for different track layouts and upgrades of course, its a lengthy game yes but it breaks its repitition of races with its pursuits

i dont think its right to say mw05 is overrated because its not

its highly praised because its one of the best

if you enjoy carbon that's fine

but to me, most wanted remains as the king and the as the last good nfs game

when you see some heavy armored tanks such as the e100, vk 72, kranvagn, you will see how armored they are
