@jade scarab want to tell u 2 things to do , they're very important

near the delta base, there is a lost ship, its kinda hard to find it but i believe you can find it easily, from the lifepod, looking to delta base, its in the right side of the mountain, so, when you're near delta base, try diving and try finding that ship

you'll need the lazer cutter

there you can find some stuff and some materials

you can also find those "wrecks", if you build storage, you can just store them in there, believe me, you'll need a lot of them further

and also, try going for the "lost pilot" signal, there will be some trailer parts, and one of them is some short of "hook" for the prawn suit, its very important because, you can go mining with prawn, store your materials at the storage trailer and then a few in the prawn, meaning its good for mining
