Orbital gatling, recoilless, eagle strike and gatling/rocket sentry

Don't use the recoilless on bugs, at least not on diff 6

You want something more suited to CC

And also use the orbital railcannon strike

It's an instant kill on pretty much any bug you'll ever fight and there's virtually zero risk of friendly fire

My stratagem weapon recommendations for bugs are either the autocannon or laser cannon, depending on if you want a guard dog

To be clear, the recoilless isn't bad for bugs, but it puts a lot of pressure on your other weapons do deal with the medium and light armored enemies, which there are a lot of, as you likely already know

And the enemies worth using the RR on aren't as common as in bots

My typical bug loadout is the autocannon, Eagle 500KG/Eagle airstrike, Orbital RCS, and then usually a turret like the autocannon turret or missile turret

Orbital gatling isn't a bad idea for bugs because it can lock down a bug breach for the most part

Things like bile titans and chargers usually get through it though

The reason the Recoilless isn't as good in bugs is not necessarily because there are fewer tank enemies, it's that there's so many more smaller enemies

You only get like 6 shots and you spend more time reloading it than using it, which is NOT what you want when dealing with swarm tactics

I've found the flamethrowe to be quite good since it can take out most things while keeping them away from you

It is solid for bugs, but I still maintain that the autocannon is better

It has heavy armor pen, a good amount of ammo, can very effectively engage the flying bugs with its flak mode that reliably one-shots them if you are on target, destroy bug holes, and do all of that from range

It also one-shots grunts reliably and can kill brood commanders and spewers in one shot with the flak mode and 2 shots otherwise

And the flak mode can kill a lot of the little bastards in a single shot, there's just so many good reasons to use the autocannon against bugs

It reloads via stripper clips, 5 at a time

10 round capacity, reloading at or below half only takes like 3 seconds, but if you reload from empty it takes way longer because you have to cycle the weapon in between clips

Flak rounds will bounce and not detonate because it has a minimum arming distance, and the AP rounds, while they will do full damage to the target, they will also knock you on your ass if you fire it at something near point blank

Laser weapons and the Blitzer are ideal for an autocannon loadout because they don't need to reload, so they're always ready to fire, assuming you haven't cooked a heatsink beforehand

The Blitzer works nicely because it operates right around the range that the autocannon shouldn't be used in

There's always the risk of friendly fire because of the arcs though so keep that in mind

Stalkers are probably your biggest problem with the autocannon

(which can be stunlocked with the Blitzer, so there's another reason to use that)

It's not as unwieldy to fire fast as the HMG but it's no laser weapon

I like the stun lance to use alongside the autocannon tbh

Airstrike is a bit better and killing crowds and destroying structures but the 500 is better at single target damage

Also keep in mind that you get 1 more airstrike usage than the 500 before the eagle has to bug out to resupply

all of his numerous knowsreset/descendia 21x/isloved/ishated conditions aside, just from a dialogue and character point of view he's inherently very difficult for even a normal person to navigate because his character and dialogue is basically that of an abuser who was abused

you can talk to all of the hex, to velimir, minerva and kaya, to lyon and marie just like regular human beings and you can't go wrong
but flare is a shizo and roathe is an abuser, and their dialogue and what you should say to them just don't make sense to most people because of it

wolf sledge possibly might be an exception in that it's suited just fine for a status build because the radial attack has innate blast and it's capable of reaching a not-terrible status chance
it's one of the factors contributing to being able to toss the wolf sledge at a group of enemies and them all dying going to space

it's no glaive, but as a gimmick weapon it's actually pretty strong and fun to use

there's actually quite an interesting build you can do with the torid where you build for projectile speed and it's pretty much just a sniper rifle
the incarnon form works just fine because it's inherently busted, but by doing this you now have a dual-mode weapon that can deal with crowds and do massive single shot damage against things like bosses and demolishers
i love dual purpose weapons, though i haven't tried building this yet

a dual purpose weapon i've been enjoying is the dera incarnon, the incarnoff + crux can get 100% ammo efficiency so you can just beam down crowds all day but the incarnon mode is a slow laser shot which is great for single target damage

but i don't know how easy dera vandal is to get anymore, and this build did also require 7 forma too

You can achieve a similar result with the braton incarnon, Crux and any frame with a channeled ability

Whatever abilities that are called that passively drain energy as long as they are active, like exalted weapons and such

personally braton incarnon isn't a burst damage option to me because of the lower fire rate and the fact that it shoots explosions which naturally points the weapon towards a crowd clearing role for me, but i haven't tried the multishot option so i could be wrong

It's funny, the way my braton is built, the difference in damage between the primary and alt modes are way closer than they probably should be

And for high health targets not status gated, the primary fire is actually better for a status build because you can put more projectiles on target faster in that mode

It makes viral heat pretty fuckin funny for certain enemies

And you don't actually have to get a punch through hit, you literally just have to hit a target period, and as long as the weapon has a punch through value higher than 1, it counts
