Joel had the right to know that Ellie was going to have her brain operated on , Ellie had the right to have the option to CHOOSE wether she wanted to die for the cure or continue living . If Ellie was given the option and she chose to die , Joel wouldn't have gone on that rampage because he respected her choice. HOWEVER

Joel was not justified in killing so many people including staff even if Ellie didn't get to make a choice , and we all know Joel knew she would've chosen to die , even she herself says "I was supposed to die" in the second game where she finds out what happened in the hospital

Joel didn't have to kill the doctor, he could've just disarmed the Doc , taken Ellie and that's it but they needed a second game so that's why it all happened

Therefore, Abby was justified in killing Joel , a man who went on a rampage and killed her father AND a very skilled doctor who "COULD'VE" saved lives . Even the doc was suspicious that the vaccine would work but the vaccine would've been a viable option if he were still alive

That and like 100 other soldiers in the hospital

I don't hate Abby cause she avenged her father , yes Ellie had the right to be angry but she knew why Abby did it yet still chose to go after Abby TWICE , losing most of her friends , losing Dina , seeing Tommy get injured etc.

It wasn't even revenge , Ellie was just blinded by grief and did the dumbest shit just to have her worst fears come to reality in the end .

Plus Abby let her and Tommy live , she could've had them killed so no one could recognize them and go after them but she didn't because she only wanted to kill Joel for killing her father

But yet we fail to conclude the part that the infection by 2030s isn't even possible to eliminate entirely, yes, although you could argue that killing ellie to get a "vaccine" could have done something, but, realistically could it, hypothetically the only ones that would fit in the category of "can be saved" are runners more or less, the cure wouldn't cure any stalker, clicker or any monstrosity that has let the infection turn them into a beast of nature that roams the world in TLOU. But also, i kind of feel like Joel saw ellie as his daughter more or less, sure at the start of TLOU 1, he was closed off and cold, still after all those years Sarah died at the hands of the army.

Not to mention in TLOU2, we see that the infection can create even more deadly variants of infected, if they are left alone for over 20 years and confined in a space together,

Referring to the "rat king" thing in the Seattle hospital, day 2 where we play as Abby.

So, realistically, would have the cure made a difference if pretty much the majority of infected have turned into the more.. lost stages of infection?

He still could've negotiated to let Ellie wake up and have her make the choice to live or die

The game zombies were more docile than the movie zombies , if the movie zombies were real , I'd say chances close to none to remove the infected entirely.

The veins that were attached to those hoards of infected would've made it near impossible to control a group of infected to lead them in an area where they could be burned or bombed .

But if the vaccine would've worked , a few lives saved would've been better than none . If I had a loved one that was bitten recently I would've done anything to get that vaccine.

Hell , if Joel had Sarah or Tommy or anyone get bitten he would've fought people to get the vaccine before time ran out

And if Abby wouldn't have killed him, as Ellie said , he crossed many people . Either a zombie on a patrol or a cannibal could've gotten him before old age . That or the people who he used to work with that killed people for their belongings

• everything scales off duration
• redline scales inversely off duration by 1/3 which means it is designed to always reach 100% at 1/3 of the ability duration but it doesn't actually do that much so it's not worth thinking about, just max duration
• because everything scales off duration and kinetic plating is guaranteed to reach 100% in the end, strength also doesn't really matter as long as you're neutral or positive strength
