Hot take (or probably not) the gifting system was the worst thing for them to add in FH5. Not only does the game hand you cars, but the gifting system multiplies that. I got several pagani forza editions when I first started playing because of the gifting system. I sold em and made millions

from the way i play the game, i don't think that's a bad thing
i don't mind not going through game progression because i don't see fh as anything more than a sandbox, giving me more cars is just giving me either more blank canvases or money

but for somebody who might care about progression, yeah, it's kind of hard not to go pick up gifted cars when the game shoves the "YOU GOT A GIFT!!!!" message down your throat, and a player who doesn't know what they want from the game(therefore won't make the choice to abstain from collecting the gift) might conclude that the game gives too many handouts
