popping smoke and maneuvering is better to learn for all tanks, not just russian. Because when you just reverse, 99% of the time people just reverse in a straight line, so people can just estimate shots on where you were pre smoke, whereas smoke + turn actually forces you to fully change position, not just axis, so you'll be less likely to get hit

Me learning that habit by force in russian tanks has made covered retreats so much easier in other nations, because it's habit
