Usually I steer while holding the left stick forward, to simulate a more "smooth" steering curve. IRL, you don't crank the wheel left and back to center either.

So you'll have more control when making a lighter turn, or going through a long corner where you may need to add / reduce the angle.

Now, when you're confidently going straight, you don't wanna hold it. Else you might have microcorrections which make you slightly swerve side to side, which makes you lose a couple hundreths of a second.

Wheel spin is more or less a matter of throttle control.

However, there are rims that help with slip angle, absorbing bumps, and overall responsiveness and traction bias.

I'd say try the Cheetah RR rims from the high-end category. Regular, not carbon.

Otherwise, I'm rather happy with my stock rims.
