Even on old-gen,the Shotaro's performance and lap times are very similar to the Hakuchou Drag,which is cheaper.
The Drag is even more worthwhile on new-gen,with the HSW Drag dominating the racing scene,or so I've heard.
The Oppressor is a versatile mobility tool with powerful missiles,comparable to the Deluxo and Ruiner2K.
While it may take some time to master,the things you could do with it are worth the effort.

Turns out to be the petrol tank health

This is the armored Buffalo STX with a player inside.

Without a player inside, the Buffalo takes 2x the damage with a player inside.

Once petrol tank drops below 0, the car explodes ofc. This is why electric vehicles take more damage as @small jewel guessed.

From the technical side, electric vehicles have a petrol tank health pool, but instead of being set to -1000 thus exploding immediately upon reaching 0. It's set to -999 thus never exploding.
