Technically if you wanted to do every single thing in story mode and online you'd have to do all the awards and get 100% and encounter the rare beast event as well as getting the peyotes and completing all the awards including Doomsday CMM and elites

GTA wiki has a 100% checklist, and Rockstar has a web-based tracker that tracks your in-game progress (along with a map showing collectable locations). That is, if you want to do in-game 100%.
There are of course things outside of this 100% requirement (eg, getting all gold medals in all missions), which you probably just gonna find yourself what is missing.

Left Alt switches characters.
There is no correct order to the story line, as far as I know, just go with the flow.
Try pressing ESC and then the Windows key. If that doesn't work, then I have no idea.

Are you playing story mode? Even if so you have to complete the mission best you can.

in story mode im pretty sure during a mission it doesnt let you switch character unless its scripted if you mean switching from story mode to online or online to story mode then yes you will lose your mission progress (there should be a warning message though) youll have to start the mission from the beginning

but you wont lose the whole mission itll still be there

Well I've tried finding Peyote Plants and Playing Cards as Michael but they don't seem to be showing up. I've used a collectible map to find their exact location. (MapGenie) so I'm wondering, does the PC version have access to the collectibles? If not is there anything I can do to access them at all?

It's probably gone. Cars don't save like they do online. If you leave it after taking it out of a garage, it disappears, unless you had a wanted level, in which it would get impounded.

pretty much just unhealthy amounts of grinding is all you can really do tbh

Vigilante becomes unbelievably trivial if you do it with a Rhino or Hunter. Though you'll lose a few potential points every level once you get high up, since the game will spawn three full vehicles - two together, one separate that falls into the water. I'm not sure if those environmental kills count towards your total. @little finch

Each criminal counts for one point, IIRC. So three full cars = 12 points each level

I think the Cone Crazy exploit will work if you haven't completed it yet.

if you cant get bawsaq working you can still make money using lcn and with the remaining assassination missions just keep them till the end but you may not make as much as money as you could

Why does Franklin want kill Trevor or Michael?

At the end of Lamar down's (mission where you rescue lamar) final cutscene steve and dave tell franklin to put trevor down on their behalf because trevor is going after so many people (merryweather the bikers etc) and is basically out of control. Steve doesnt need michael dead because dave showed steve that michael can be controlled. tldr Trevor is out of control and Steve tells franklin he will help him if he kills trevor

As for michael, devin weston wants michael dead for "embarrassing him" or more specifically because he ruined his opportunities to make money with his studio stunt. Franklin is led to believe hed be paid or at least helped out by devin weston (which he just doesnt) if he kills michael

I've got liberty city stories on psp but there's this really awful motion blur that just makes me want to not play the game
