lol, as long you don't project your misery onto them that's perfectly fine, despite "hate" hurts the hater before all others and thus is a bit concerning - why the hell do you "hate" and not just "dislike certain animals - i hate it being "biten" by mosquitos too, and don't see their purpose in the foodchain and thus also dislike them - but "hating" them for their nature is quite a bit to far stretched, don't you think? 😉
I rather hate certain humans that behave reckless & relentless in an amount an animal rarely even could! 😉 (even a psychotic panther wouldn't develop a whole industry to murder millions - and we still have weapon manufacturers and butcher companies that don't care! - i'm not against eating meat, but the wasteage is unbelievable! - humans are by far the worst animals on this planet! - but also CAN be very beautiful creatures too, if they choose so! ;-))

It's a red tailed hawk, protected species and only about 5 families of then live on my property

They don't play around either, they're always killing something

yea, they can be quite a burden for a forest, and they are loud - they really love to mark their territory and can be pretty dangerous in their mating time and with their ... "kids" around!

i wish we had wolfes in our area, but we're to far west and around an deeply urbanized area that they propably will ever be "home" around here - we have quite some foxes instead, and also many different species of owls^^ - hawks also quite a few, especially bussards (en.: "Buzzards" or "Buteo" by Wikipedia) and different Falcons - tho i'm sadly bad at identifying the exact species xP

well, we still have strict hunting seasons, much to the dislike of our huntercommunity xD - but i personally think that's a good thing (both the hunting and the strict regulations!) - it's all about balance in nature, and we destroyed it in the past, by hunting down wolfes & bears, and have to deal with the consequences!

Hunting is mostly regulated to a specific amount, only certain species are "kill as you like"

i'm from germany, afaik everything you need a rifle for to kill is strictly regulated and monitored

smaller species i'm not too certain - i have more to do with the forester side of things - what i found pretty interesting was a city i was regularily in had hired falkners (falcon "holders"&trainers) to explicetly hunt rabbits, as there where to many, according to them it was a plague for many years, and indeed you could always see a rabbit somewhere in the city!^^ - but it never felt like a plague, but didn't researched that topic further, just found it kinda cool and curious at the same time that there are apperently to many rabbits in town xD

ah, first thought it might be a typo, but it's actually not that far from here - i'm from south-east region of cologne - just happen to never been in that region - i'm often in Hamburg or the "Black Forest" region - also have family that originated from East-Germany, so were there quite often too^^
In Czechia i also were a few times - i love the forests there, saw my first wolf in nature there, just across a canyon in the woods^^
