btw, Alpine/Renault has some serious issues with F1 opportunities for its academy program at this point.

Ocon and Alonso aren't going anywhere, and they don't have any junior or customer team (let alone one that they have major influence over). So everyone bottlenecks at F2.

Zhou at least has the Chinese buck to contest the Alfa spot, meanwhile Piastri gets nothing even though he's winning like crazy in the feeder series.

Merc has Williams (Tracing Point and McLarens are customer teams they have no real influence over), Ferrari has Haas and up until this year Alfa, Red Bull has a full-blown junior team Alpha Tauri (who actually has a reasonably competitive car). Renault has... nothing.

Got a question. How do you guys deal with people who match your speed when you're indicating to change into their lane?

Personally (not sure if this is dangerous or illegal), I like to slow down to about 25 under the limit, wait for them to get comfortable with that speed, then suddenly accelerate and change lanes in front of them.

If it is changing into a lane, you could merge in an appropriate spot and if they don't let you then they are the asshole. The matching speed part could be then just not noticing you and just staying at the regular highway speed

But it is still at least partially on them for their unawareness of what's around them
