My parents hate leather car seats because the seats feel "crunchy" and "tear" up easily in long term use.

But I feel leather seats are more comfortable than fabric seats

you condition them. Leather doesn't moisten itself since it's dead layers of skin

so you need to keep the moisture up yourself and clean it

car leather is usually nappa, which is hard and coloured leather

just clean it periodically and use a leather wax (and maybe a conditioner) to keep its moisture

keep in mind that leather needs to breathe, so don't smother it

I'm not sure about other German vehicles other than Audi, but my Audi was always a pain in the ass to work on.
To get to anything on the front of the block (timing belt, water pump, thermostat, tensioners/rollers, etc) you had to remove the front wheels, the fender liners (partially), the belly pan/skid plate, the intercooler grills, fog lights, remove the front bumper, the intercooler piping, partially disassembly the intake, disconnect the radiator hoses (so you'd have to flush coolant at the same time) and the radiator shroud, misc. brackets/clips/connectors, and finally remove ten or twelve bolts and slide the entire front end carrier forwards.
