there aren't many modern gull wing door cars around, and a lot of them are multi-million dollar cars

mercedes did the same thing with their original gull wing car, the 300SL - when they made the roadster, they just put regular doors in

that said, if the gull wing doors don't bother you, you're still getting one of the most beautiful designed cars this side of the 2000's, and one of mercedes' best v8's

i won't lie, i don't care for the doors and... given their value propositions for the money and my own personal opinion in styling, i'd rather be in the AMG GT that came after it

more of them sold, they're cheaper, i like how they look just a little more

let's not give engines to people who don't want engines, this kind of consumer is better suited having a car they can charge at home for cheap

the only thing they could wish for is more space, which leads into the whole other reason of why the mirage was discontinued: people still just want SUVs

the issue is twofold:
1: back then there weren't a whole lot of SUVs to begin with, and the technology really wasn't there - you wanted lightweight and stable cars, and SUVs were anything but stable at higher speeds
now there are tons of them because they're all people want
on the flipside of that... there aren't a whole lot of electric coupes or sedans, and most of them come from china where company and customers alike typically don't care for motorsport programs
2: SUVs are just inherently better for offroading... why bother wasting time on making a tall car when your company produces tall cars to begin with, just grab one of those to start with as a base
