I said overrated compared to the huayra r
Lfa is an amazing sounding car, definitely top 5 overall
Top 3 street legal
Sweet

The thing which makes it overrated are it's fanboys š¤£
Although I would say huayra is a better bang for the buck
Saw a defender today. Absolutely stunning
The more i see that porsche the more i love it
911 Dakar?
Yes
It costs 5 times what the lfa costs
Isnāt the lfa already selling at 2 million?
I mean the nuruburing edition costs 1.2 million, so does the huayra at 1.5 million. But the huayra is a better car in every aspect. Better materials like carbon fibre and better speed and around corners
Except the sound and the driving feel
you're saying like that LFA doesnt utilise carbon fibre
This car's rear reminds of that pegassi from story mode
There is a single digit amount of these in existence finding this on the road randomly is the same of getting struck my lightning twice
No
Huayra R isn't street legal, and about $5-$7 million if you can ever find one for sale
For sake of convenience the lfa wins, but the huayra r objectively sounds cooler
It's just a pain to use, you need to start it with a crank and it is too loud to track in most places
Like an f1 car
Lfa is carbon fiber also
No way the huayra is only 1.5
Theyāre atleast 4m
Thatās the sale price for special customers itās market value is little more than that
Id say 8-9m
The one ur talking about is the top trim variant
Regular first gens go for high $1's to mid $2's
Zondas are the expensive ones
No its the base
The top one is 5-6m
Zondas go upto 10m
Overpriced if you ask me
Yea theyāre selling for way more than they used to
And original zondas (non coverted) are the most expensive
Imagine if alfa romeo would never have fired enzo or Lamborghini would never have been humiliated by ferrariš
Arrogant Italians make the car world go round
The first Zonda was cheap because it was an unknown brand and it wasn't like today where every single bespoke cool looking car is multiple millions
Back then 7 figure cars were extremely rare
You could find zondas innthe early 2000's used for $350,000-$400,000
Crazy times
Those cars on the low end will auction for 4-5
$5m is a steal for a zonda
Egoistic*

Or Horacio Pagani was never forbidden from signing his name on the car he worked on because of his ethnicity (allegedly)
And now he personally signs every car his company produces

car stopped delivering power momentarily a bit over the four minutes mark of the run
they claim to have the record for fastest four door, which i guess is sort of true?
but that shit has more in common with the VW IDR than any mass produced four-door car
Xiaomi sounds like a phone brand
Dam electric cars really opened pandoras box
I thought phone brands making cars died before I was born
Guess we're so back
xiaomi makes... practically anything
it's like how the japanese megacorporations make cars, pianos, and fighter jets
Add giant fuck-off industrial cranes to that
That's Hyundai, not Mitsubishi, but the point still stands
it's the difference between these tiny companies that serve one particular niche vs big companies that have multiple divisions or sub-companies making pretty much everything
i think the west doesn't see many of those, maybe GM at most
Something something Texas instruments, a "calculator company", makes the guidance system for hellfire missiles
meanwhile like every developed country in asia has two megacorporations that make your phone, your washing machine, your car, and your military's service rifle
Yeah, Samsung may as well own South Korea lmao
I think there are more electronics there that have Samsung components and/or software than not lol
Big and small
remember daewoo
š
they made cars and the south korean service rifle! and then they went bankrupt
I would like to see the source of the warship one, because last I checked Samsung has never built any kind of warship
The T50A inclusion is at least a little true, if a bit misleading
Meme

They don't make fighter jets. Of they would have wr would have to watch a 2 min ad everytime to make them fly.

Idk ' west ' is a really vague term. Why couldnt we guys simply use the words 'Americas' or 'Europe'
Because west means both europe and the americas
Will u include russia and britain aswell?
Britain dropped out of EU
And australia?
Russia is almost always portrayed as not being not part of "the west"
Some portrayals of eastern Europe follow this as well
europe is not the EU
Sure it left the EU but itās still a part of europe and will always be a part of it unless the whole island drifted away somewhere somehow
The literal meaning of western countries (countries on the western side of the map) and what people mean when they say "the west" is different
So yes australia would be considered a western country
Is it because Russia stretches across the east and west?
In sociology, the EastāWest dichotomy is the perceived difference between the Eastern and the Western worlds. Cultural and religious rather than geographical in division, the boundaries of East and West are not fixed, but vary according to the criteria adopted by individuals using the term.
Used in discussing such studies as management, economic...
its considered a western world because it aligns itself with western allies
Is it just me or does the cgt actually looks like a small pickup truch
Lol
I get it.
Still i consider them hyperbolic terms
Youāre still missing the point
It has nothing to do with geographical location
U mean it's based on style of government handling and the Socratic and Confucian ideologies?
It's based on government to an extent and who they ally themselves with
Kia, what are you doing
I know Korean car manufacturers have been emboldened lately but this is a jump I wasn't expecting
They are simply expanding
Iām not thinking much of it honestly
They do Hydrogen war tanks now too
apparently
damn
damn
"stealth" and "tank" do not belong in a sentence referring to each other
A hydrogen powered tank is an interesting idea and the lower volume of the powerplant is definitely an advantage, no question about that; but assuming the tracks are still made of metal, those will still be very loud and distinctive
But on another note, this new tank is looking to be a pretty advanced one otherwise
And I think the visual cool factor speaks for itself
Yes, but also no
Active camouflage, thermal shielding, noise masking,
All forms of ground vehicle based 'stealth'
stealth isn't just shit like the F-22 and F-35
Even stealth ships exist, with tumblehome hulls and all kinds of fuckery
It's a catchall term for things with low observability capabilities
Stealth ships are insane
I understand that
that's fundamentally what stealth is
lol
Ie: stealth aircraft primarily reduce their observability to radar and thermal detection
Low observability isn't just in the visual spectrum
It covers heat, noise, evidence of actually being there (ie, tracks), radar, and more
The Zumwalt-class destroyer is a class of three United States Navy guided-missile destroyers designed as multi-mission stealth ships with a focus on land attack. The class was designed with a primary role of naval gunfire support and secondary roles of surface warfare and anti-aircraft warfare. The class design emerged from the DD-21 "land attac...
The FUNNY
I don't know what the tracks are made of so I can't say for sure what its noise profile will be like
It'll be louder than wheeled vehicles regardless
Wasn't this kind of a failure
It varies, wildly
But covering the tracks signature isn't just about the noise
It also includes stuff like eliminating the 'marks' the tracks leave
Think: dragging brush over your footprints to eliminate them
No.
The concept? Absolutely magical
The ships themselves were a victim of the cold war ending and the peace dividend slashing programs
Same goes for stuff like the F-22, the seawolf subs, the B-2 bomber, and so much more
The ships themselves have a smaller RCS than the F-22 lmao
Rubberized track contact patches is the go-to solution for that I'd say
Which is absolutely insane
For covering the physical marks?
Nope
You'd use active obscuration, ie: spraying high pressure water behind the tank to muck up the track marks as it moves
Rubber primarily reduces track damage to roads, not useful for the tank itself
I mostly meant for hard surfaces like asphalt
My bad
^
Because tank tracks absolutely fuck up road surfaces
I know that, I've seen what that looks like
Yeah it doesn't impact the noise, or visibility, at all
Especially shitty government-issue asphalt but I digress
I understand the concept
Yes.
The tank became a car.
Pretty nifty
Very nifty
screws with thermal imaging systems
I remember seeing a picture where they made the tank look like a cow lmao

Peace dividend was a political slogan popularized by US President George H. W. Bush and UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the light of the 1988ā1991 dissolution of the Soviet Union, that described the economic benefit of a decrease in defense spending. The term was frequently used at the end of the Cold War, when many Western nations signif...
Anyway
Should probably move on lel
Ranger LUSV my beloved
If the cancellation of a 30 billion dollar project doesn't constitute a failure then I'm not quite sure what does but I'll just leave that where it is
20 bil, not 30 but point still stands
The project(s) weren't cancelled
The project(s) was cut back, because of the peace dividend
Driving the per unit cost through the roof so manufacturers could break even
Simple economics of scale,
I read into it a few years ago and I gathered that it was a blunder for the most part
It wasn't
Hell, the tech from the program is still being used and implemented to this day in current and future designs
If it was a failure, why is it still being used and developed?
anyway more ship posting
Multiple of the original criteria of the project were never fulfilled; just because it didn't go according to plan doesn't mean it wasn't a complete waste of time; there's a lesson to be learned in every failure; I'm going to read more into this later
Didn't get fulfilled because of the aforementioned economics of scale
Ie: the fancy gun
Buying less ships = buying less guns = buying less fancy ammo
Means the ammo became REALLY EXPENSIVE per unit
Until it was just outright cancelled because of you guessed it, cost
Obviously the navy wasn't just going to abandon an otherwise-bleeding edge ship like this
They figured out a way to still use it, as they should have
Like it all boils down to the peace dividend, hell
Even the F-22 was cut from like, 750+ aircraft, to like 250
Which massively drove up the cost per unit
And it's meeting a worse date than the zumwalts now
Wrong
I am on a roll today
USAF announced a multi billion dollar upgrade to keep more airframes in service, and at the bleeding edge of technology, now and into the future, per their last budget
lmfao yeah I guess so
I was not aware of this
As far as I knew 5 minutes ago it was slated for retirement
Your info is about a year out of date lol
Sounds about right
Yeah I'm seeing search results myself
You wouldn't be upgrading a platform if its being retired soon LUL
Have you seen the silver raptor?
Indeed
No
An exotic test jet has been spotted wearing a similar coating in the past, but an F-22 wearing it is a major development.
Gonna be in the cover of the next ace combat game in like 7 years when it comes out
I presume it's part of a program to reduce maintenance time snd costs, on the F-22s 'gen 1' stealth coating, and ugrade it to be like the F-35s coating which in many respects, is both 'baked in' and can be straight up painted on
Whatever the air force ends up cooking up for the raptor will be in the next ace Combat game, mark my words
Lul
Maybe one of these new unmanned projects will too
I take that back, they already are
What little I know of the F22 is that, like the other stealth aircraft in the US's arsenal, it is more expensive to maintain than they would like
Stealth technology is expensive
What a surprise

The cost was what I understood to the main cause of its planned retirement
Right up until I learned of these new plans that I somehow missed
Oops
text wall over
The F-35 being the exception to that
Why?
Economics of scale and leveraging global supply chains
Australia produces a lot of the 'stealth paint' used by the global F-35 fleet, for example
The cost has come down exponentially over its service life
It's now very similar in per flight hour costs to contemporary 4th gens
Funny, I read stories that gave me the impression that the F35 was projected to cost some obscene amount of money
I guess game journalists aren't the only journalists to take with a grain of salt
Hate sells :)
That it does
I'm looking forward to seeing more entries into the 5th generation fighter class
From the very few countries working on them, at least
Though unmanned is said to throw a wrench in that
Said by journalists so

lol
I'm more educated than most in this field
I study this kind of stuff as part of my degree
You don't say
Strategic studies/the planning around it and such
I said that without thinking, so no offense intended
Funnily enough I just finished up a 1500 word op-ed assignment on conflict between the west & china
kewl
Why need 5th gen when u got a dassualt for much more practical price
And that 5th gen solve no problem except thatās itās more advanced?
That's why 4.5 gen fighters exist, and they'll make up the bulk of our air power for the foreseeable future
Alpha probably knows more than I do but I don't think there were ever any plans for 5th gen fighters to completely replace 4.5s
Even 6th gen aircraftās proposed by GB and France are a bit gimmicky to me
gonna attempt to install a dashcam in my volvo, my prior experience is only my old ford, which was pretty easy, hope i dont break clips lol
Good luck
One of the most annoying things with working on your own vehicle is breaking clips
mechanics have a magic touch
Gonna shoot my shot and see if anyone knows anything about this '87 El Camino that supposedly participated in the 1990 Baja 1000
The only proof I can find of its existence is like 5 images on the entire internet
spooky
my dad used to drive it to his job sites, and we never deep-cleaned the car after he switched, the back of the license plate is absolutely filthy

definitely looks like it's been taken care of
oh yeah for sure
I'm the second owner. It had about 9k miles on it when I purchased it in 2017. I got 19k on it now
stock other than some Toyo R888R tires
Beautiful
Which year is it?
Beautiful
Leaked pictures of forza horizon 6 š
its a 2013 GTS
"Track pack" which is just the lightweight Sidewinder Wheels, PZero Corsa tires (track tire, base models have just PZeros), no extra 18 speaker option, and better brakes which are from the 4th Gen ACR
I don't know what it actually weighs but online specs say around 3375 lbs I think
Has Daniel Mac walked up to your car yet?
Is that the guy who asks what you do for a living
Yea lol
got the dashcam installed myself, it wasnt as hard as I imagined it be, but I am stuck because the rear camera cable is not long enough for wagon shaped cars xd
Great car and im sure its not your only car since it has a low mileage.
Time to splice an extension
Definitely not my daily lol. I bought a GLC300 for a daily last year. Also have a 2006 Pontiac GTO that for many years was my daily. Mostly sits in a storage unit now.
Am I the only one who thinks alfa romeos look as if they are mewing
Alfa meowmeos
where is this? is this in Ipswich ?

thats in UK right?
Yes
Interesting collection

79 c10 fully restored by moi
Nice
That's sick!
As a fellow Chevy owner and lover
Great lineup
Thered be a few more but i couldnt fit em in the photo
What else do ya drive? I also have quite the "collection" myself lmao
I had a 92 savanna van and and an 01 GTR at that time as well
Currently down to the 3 in the photo
GTRs are a little fancy for my taste-
I currently have a 2019 ZL1 Camaro, 02' C5 vette, 87' RX7 FC3S and a 2014 Scion FRS
Ive been looking at an F.C rx7 recently
I cant find non ruined ones in my area
Me but swap rx7 with boosted 350z
given i cant find a decent F.C Iāve started taking an interest in E39 5 seriesā
540iās are still relatively cheap for a rwd manual v8
I'm not familiar with European stuff, that's my dad's field
He has a Ferrari portafino and a porsche GT2RS
Im not familiar with European either
My expertise is mostly japanese
hey chat im thinking of getting my first car for college sometime next year but im stuck between two choices option A: mx-5 option B: Lotus else
Neither because they are unreliable
Civic or Corolla would be better as your 1st car
Camry and Accord are also good
Get a corsa
Not a civic. Corrola would be better
Both of them are reliable
And have low maintenance
The newer civics....not so
Plus their outdated interior
If you want a civic and expect 0 maintenance get the one before 2016
Just do fluid changes at suggested stages and all will be good
Kia Seltos is quite popular here
Get anything but a Prius
German cars are unreliable
And they also lose their value quite fast
My dad had a F31 tourer
That was reliable
Apart from flat tires
Well one of my relatives had VW Jetta and most of the time it used to be in the service centre than on the road

Same issue with Mercedes
GLS
2016 model
I hate the GLA and GLB so much

Now they sold off GLS and Jetta
I can see why
And got Toyota Land Cruiser
True
They also look amazing
And reliable xD
A restomod Land Cruiser would be peak
Older LCs had V8 engine i think
Damn a Toyota SUV with a V8

Nah that's not true anymore. They have upped their reliability
Mini was a surprise entry
Anyway top 5 is still dominated by Japanese car brands
Mercedes was 2nd last lol
They have too much unproven tech on their cars
And Acura? Above Infiniti? Is it a joke?
Also How is Land Rover more reliable than Audi
š
Land Rover aināt mass market. Audi is
Audi sells 2 million cars per year. Land Rover sells nowhere near it
it looks fine?
well it doesn't have a 128 inch curved display as an infotainment system so it's outdated
it also has physical controls and buttons
More screen and all basic functions integrated into the screen = less outdated
sad and true
Dude I just said I think Hondas quality control has been on a decline for a decade and the replies I am getting

Anecdotal but those interiors will be coming out after 5 or 10 years whereas a corrola will remain the same
Volvo surprises me
It's just tech. Mote techy the car is , lesser reliable
Exception is probably bmw
BMW is a textbook example of that lmao
Yeah I guess usability and simplicity=outdated
Tactile dials>on-screen controls all day
I feel like an argument could be made that physical dials are safer
yurp
corradon't

luh
Not anymore. B58 and b38 are one of the most reliable powertrains ever made for that "luxury sedan" segments
So much even toyota started to use them for their supras
Again, this isn't 2000's anymore
yeah what about the V8s
the N63, the absolute definition of reliability is still used in BMW models
Nitpicking
The amount of complexity it had was outright hilarious
And the innovation involved aswell
Ok listen bud-
- I don't think they deserve a better ranking than honda[I guess it's because of the volume adjusted. Hinda sells twice as many cars as bmw does]
- Not saying they are reliable compared to the lexus.
- Not defending N63's engine reliability in the past even though they have massively improved it.
- But I AM saying is That they have exponentially increased their reliability. Where other csr brands like honda, merc, vw and even nissan have remained stagnant or slipped in their reliability and quality control, BMW has gone up surprisingly.
- Yup you are correct. I shouldn't have said nitpicking as the their v8's need improvement and I guess they are working on it. However using B58 or even b48 as a criteria for judging bmw's reliability is a better comparison rather than using notorious engines like their v8's
- Don't wanna argue anymore regarding what I wrote a day before
There are more b58 and b48 powered bimmers than u see n63's. So this might have improved their score
What did u choose? Honda 2k or that Elise?
I'm at least a year and $20,000 away from that decision
Those are goal cars

With the recent release of the F80, I thought it would be a suitable occasion to test out the insta360 cam on the F40.
The car is fitted with a Tubi exhaust that really brings it alive. There is truly no other comparison in terms of raw driving sensations - itās impossible to drive an F40 without a massive grin.

Bus posting
Haha the bus cannot get to the bus stop because the car parked on the corner
I thought these only happened in Greece but i see there are fools everywhere

my favorite type of bus a MMC
Yes nice to drive most of the time too. I can see us being friends. I would love to drive a Setra or a Yutong. Yutongs are my favourites.
Thatās how I met your mother my friend
Joe nuts
thanks lol is it cos i like bid
bus
Yes not many do
y not
second time I got stranded because a car broke down, had to get it towed, probably the starter is dead
well thats half a day spent in a gas station lol
What's the car?
Starters rarely break
Are you sure it wasnāt something else
they're gonna figure it out, had the battery tested so thats not the issue, it makes a single click when i turn the key
Did you try tapping on the starter if you can reach it
While someone turns the key
Iāve actually tried that and surprisingly it works
it didnt work xd, we had a broomstick and a wrench to tap it out
I was thinking the same thing
Dang
Iām guessing you also went through basic stuff like checking the battery connections and whatnot
car is extremely rarely driven, i only drove it this time to fill half a tank, it started at first which is really odd
ill soon find out
Hat
No idea maybe they think it is nerdy.
My new car:
Damn
Nice country man bro
Thanks

Mini cooper, the company with the most unnecessarily complicated gear selector I've ever seen
A BMW I drove a few weeks ago had a similarly confusing one
No gas
how is it nerdy
like, ???
In the BMW I drove I couldn't even figure out how to put it in park so I just put it in neutral and put the parking brake on and walked away lmao
This specific one was in a mini
I never said it was only that other people think that way as it is not your usual hobby.
Valeting gets you into so many different and unique cars. It's fun trying to figure out all the basics for new and more quirky ones.
Volvos are the funkiest overall for sure
First time I valeted a Ferrari 458, I could not figure out how to get it in park. It took a few minutes before I pulled both paddle shifters at same time and that did it.
Guy had a 2000 something M3 that he always brought with a "semi auto" transmission. No clutch, but you had to manually shift and use parking brake still.
I work at a Ford dealership parking cars so
I mostly park Fords plus whatever else people want worked on here, though they generally don't do German cars
Yeah the race car layouts Ferrari always went for on their steering wheels made regular road going actions a little unergonomic lol
Oh I gotcha. That's cool getting to see all the new stuff and be around cars all day
Here's something like the BMW shifter I was talking about
The one in the beemer I parked had that
It wasn't an M car though, some SUV that had a misfire
Just newer version of same thing though
Wait no, yours was normal automatic with the option to pop into manual. The one I posted has no auto option
It looked the same, I didn't take a picture though
Yeah they're very similar
The shape at least, I don't remember whatever nomenclature was on it apart from the lack of anything indicating park lmao
Yeah they put it in weird places. I've gotten good at finding em after a while
Ford only ever have dials or a stalk in the trucks and bigger SUVs depending on interior format
If they got the middle front seat it's usually a stalk iirc
Lincolns have buttons on the dash, it's unconventional but at least simple
One of the members where I valeted had a brand new M5 he bought in a hurry on the way to dinner. He rolls up late and starts getting out and it's rolling not in drive still lmao. He luckily stopped it and we all huddled to figure out how to get it in park
It doesn't put it in park when you open the door? A new BMW?
I prefer the shifter. Just feels, right? Idk haha. I like resting my hand on it while I drive
This was like 7 ish years ago
I prefer stalks personally
But no, it didn't
That's such a truck thing in my mind, even though plenty other models had or have em
Or a regular "shifter", something I physically move to change gear rather than press a button or turn a dial or solve a fucking zombies Easter egg just to put it in park
My first and second vehicles were full-size trucks
You'd hate volvos. Weirdest shit and they changed it across models and years so much
Hell yeah. My first was a '99 ram 1500. Miss it
I still swing hella wide when I back into a spot, and I still park full size trucks better than smaller things, I have no clue why but I do
Poverty spec 03 F150 for me
I like sitting low though. I have no need for a truck that I could ever see. And my dad and lots of friends all have em
I will freely admit that I won't need a pickup truck as much as my dad does
Farm truck spec šŖ
But I want one anyway because I like the idea of being the bigger vehicle in a crash
You wouldn't believe it was a farm truck with its condition when I had it
I love when you see a two door cab with the long bed on new heavy duties. Like you know that thing is working like it was intended lol
Mine was a short bed and it had a bullet hole in the glove compartment
That's legit. Any story to go with it? Or did you get it like that
I have a fool-proof way of telling whether or not someone uses their truck for labor when I'm parking/retrieving it for them
Ok maybe not foolproof but it's pretty consistent
I'm ready for it lol
- It's got dirty stuff in the back seat and the interior is a bit dirty
- They don't ask for a wash
Little dents and scuffs are also signs
I'd agree with that
Side note: crank windows are based
They just are and I'll accept no amendments to that
There was a 2017 F150 here yesterday with crank windows, I didn't think they even made them that late
Hahaha yessss. Bring em back!
It was of course a base model, long bed, farm truck spec
Damnnnn! You'd think it'd be cheaper to not even offer that as an option
The guy bought it new for 24K
Unless they just have excess parts from 10 years prior still lol
You can't get anywhere near that with a base model F150 in the current year
That's a tool for sure
Doesnt the gladiator still come with crank windows
Oh jeeps and cranks. Forgot about them
It was taken care of but yeah I think it was used for work
We don't talk about jeeps here
I'm perfectly fine with that rule lol
my cousin is a bit obsessed with Stellantis products in general
had an R/T charger, sold it for an SRT grand Cherokee
sold that for ANOTHER SRT grand Cherokee
Their old trucks from like the 50s get a pass but other than that
keep in mind none were bought new
I like RAMs but otherwise I don't really care much for anything FCA
Speaking of Stellantis, they're having a comically awful year
I personally think it's deserved for killing the hemi, fact is that's probably part of the reason
The last thing i read Stellantis related was that the new grand Cherokee (especially the 4xE) is a giant piece of shite
Yeah, wagoneer/grand wagoneer also apparently have issues too
for a vehicle thats more expensive than the Tahoe
lmao
First with the original Hemi V8s it came with being comedically bad gas mileage and the 5.7 in particular being underpowered, and now with the new hurricane platform as a whole being a bit too ambitious for itself
The multiple car reviews I watched on YouTube more or less said "Conclusion: buy an Escalade"
wait a fuck
Beyond being ugly and $100k, who is picking that over GM's and Ford/Lincoln?
I knew it was expensive but I double checked and it's starting price is $86k
Excuse me
Nobody buying the base model though
for that car without options you can buy like a Tahoe high country
Our local jeep dealer only had one trim level and it starts at $108k
yeah no one's buying it
Stellantis deserves to fail with how they've run it. But they'll get bailed out or something
again
Starting price of an Escalade is 81
Yupppp š
Yeah it does look leagues and bounds better, Escalades always have

what I mean is
If you mean to say that Cadillac is the best of the American luxury brands, I agree completely
Cadillac is just Cadillac and thats enough said
They also let their engineers have fun from time to time, and I'm pretty sure Lincoln doesn't know what that is
case in point: V
The CT5-V Blackwing is one of the most based cars GM has made in the 21st century and I will die on that hill
The Escalade V is equally based
And probably the coolest production car Cadillac will ever make, especially the way they're going now
I've already said the Escalade is badass
The V takes that into another level
if GM were sensible they could've shoved the LT4 into every single one of their vehicles
The one thing it never did go in was a truck, my god what a truck that could have been
There's a sedan near me thats on sale for the same price of a new Nissan Sentra
you don't understand me
shove it into EVERYTHING
My dad's buddy has one
LT4 powered GMC terrain
LT4 Powered Suburban
LT4 powered Silverado makes the most sense
Hellcat Pacifica but it isn't literally the least unreliable vehicle in the western hemisphere
they badly need a TRX/raptor R competitor
Ahhh that's sick. I don't see them very often
I'm not even being hyperbolic with the literally there, there was a study done that said the Pacifica hybrid is the least reliable vehicle on sale in America
That's baffled me for years. Raptors were selling like crazy, ram was answering with trx, Chevy just sat back and watched
Or american vehicle, one of the two, either way, bad look
The Blazer should've been more of a bronco too. Such a lame comeback
I'm convinced Chevy don't pay attention to the performance crowd very often
Not like Ford and Chrysler
I think Ford is the best at it
ford, also, if they weren't cowards they should make a mustang raptor
it would sell out tomorrow
Idk how you watch how those performance suvs and trucks sell like crazy and not react at all
Mach e rally e is best they can do
Or whatever the exact name is
@jagged sentinel did you guys get one yet?
Mach-e rally
Saw they're starting to arrive at dealerships
the idea looks cool but it's an electric mustang suv
god putting those 3 words together feels like a crime
I understand the reasoning why they did it, but I still don't agree with the decision
it almost gives Chevy a perfect idea of what to do with the Camaro name- š°
Not seen any yet
Have seen the Detroit Lions F150s though
Yes it's a thing
At least they're doing good lol
Honestly kinda lame imo. Looks like a truck lions org owns and uses around the stadium lol
It honestly might be less than that, these were taken awhile ago and I don't have a picture of the window sticker
The package looks like an afternoon job for a wrap shop
Besides the badge, it looks like it's just a lil vinyl
I didn't realize it at first but the lions logo is on the headrests and there's a plaque on the glove cpmt lid
That's a lil better ha
There's one out front of the dealership, uno momento
I can't get a picture of the full sticker with everything on the truck because my phone battery is too low for flash and I'm also still on shift lmao
@nova estuary
Oh no worries man! That is exactly what I was wanting to see
Thanks for snagging that. But that pricing is in line with other lil packages like that
That giant lion on the back door is too much and makes it look like it's team owned though.
you don't want flash on a glass surface
looks more legible like this
anyways, super crew huh
is that like an extra long cabin f150
Yeah it's the largest cabin I believe
Tint
The flash would have been enough to see, it was just dark enough to not look right on the camera without flash, but no matter, this truck didn't really have anything crazy on it, as the price would suggest
you wanted to see the inside or something?
because flash would just put a giant glowing ball on the glass, kinda hurts legibility if you wanted to read the label
The sticker taped to the window
iirc the truck is an XLT
yeah but it's taped to the inside ... the light would reflect off the glass surface
anyways it's most legible now
I didn't even finish speccing out an F150 in the configurator and I matched the price of that truck lmao
Started with an XLT and even with all the mid-low-tier packages and got to 65K already, damn this shit is expensive
big ass trucks do be expensive
makes you wonder why people who don't even need them keep buying them as family vehicles
My dad paid that for a decently packed 2500 big horn, which is the ram equivalent of an XLT
That's an entire level of truck above this one lmao
And he paid pretty much the same price, what da fuq
not very af-ford-able

More importantly, they barely afford it
why
Rams iirc are usually a touch more expensive than their equivalent Ford trim, too
They market as if the other two companies don't have their own "luxury" options for trucks
Whatever, I'm never gonna be able to afford one of these damn things
i wouldn't know this by how many more rams i seem to see over ford trucks
the most common big truck I see nowadays is the F150 tremor to be exact
I see Ford and Rams in around equal measure, even though on paper I should see much more fords
I also saw a sierra 3500 dually
I see a fuck ton of broncos
which is just incredibly huge
the relatively normal car i was sitting in, the roof was UNDER that behemoth's windows
F150 is huge in fleet sales too
And a lot of the people who drive them seem to sit way too close to the steering wheel, to the point that the right side mirror is obstructed by the A pillar
Bronco sports are broncos for people who are honest with themselves
"i want to drive a pretty escape"?
"I want a bronco but I know damn well I'll never leave a paved road with it"
My uncle has a 3500 dually Silverado. One time he was towing a massive 30 something foot boat and my dad raced him at a stoplight in his ford edge and got smoked still
3500s are big because of what they're designed for
It was so impressive. I had no idea it could do that shit
You need the weight and length for the sake of stability
the one I saw looked like it was straight out of the dealer
Was the trailer a 5th-wheel trailer?
Or a gooseneck trailer if you lean that way
plastic wraps on the seats still
My uncles a mechanic and redid the whole air system and a few other things for diesel efficiency. He had like 340k on it
this reminds me of that video of the m5 towing a boat and still winning from a standstill
Yeah he pulls a 5th wheel drag racing trailer for his buddies team lots of weekends too
If it was a gooseneck trailer, than I'm not entirely surprised it was able to get that kind of launch, that much weight on the rear wheels means all that torque can really make it to the ground
My dad's truck will spin the wheels from a standstill if you floor it from a stand
God damn I love power
It's actually recommended that you put some sandbags or something heavy in the truck's bed during the winter for the extra weight over the rear axle
I'm feeling real American right now
It doesn't even need the turbo spooled if the tires are cold
Once it does spin up though, the burst of power you get kinda took me by surprise
I'll have to ask what he's all modified on it over the years. I know he gets like mid 30s hwy mpg with the efficiency upgrades.
It's a '06 I believe
My dad has a 22
Torque is a beautiful thing
850 lb-ft go brr... eventually
That's awesome. You ever just wanna rip out a stump or something. I'd have the urge to pull shit lol
We got the first chance to really test its hauling earlier this year
2.5 ton camper towed on the highway. The thing felt like the trailer wasn't even there lmao
That's incredible. I've never driven anything that large
Besides like a huge box truck for moving, but that's lame
There are a lot of issues one can have with new diesels compared to the old, but man did the power get higher
Oh I can imagine with the electronics and pollution regs
Does your uncle's rig need DEF
Modern day mechanic is an IT and electrical gig almost
Nah, he wanted max efficiency
My dad is thinking about deleting his
You don't have inspections?
But the EPA would gut him like a fish if they found out, the EPA does not fuck around with diesel modifications
Not in MI
They absolutely don't
I guess if any state were to, motor city home makes sense lol
Another reason is that my uncle has a very similarly specced F250 that he did end up tuning, but it had some problems at first
Only certain counties in WI, but mine is one of em.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that my dad's truck has the diesel but you probably figured that out by now
Oh absolutely
It's also still under warranty so like
Idk if I'd wanna mess with tuning a newish vehicle.
It's a bit older, 2018 I think
For sure wait out warranty
For my daily, I want reliability first. But when I can afford a third car one day far in the future, I'll be all in for fun
Mhmm
He dailys his old 2013 ram
For many good reasons
And gotta be comfy. Idk how dudes daily sport suspension and shit lol
Speaking of comfort, something funny about his Rams
The 2013 rides much better than the 2022
Like so much better
It's probably the most comfortable vehicle we own lol which is funny because it's the oldest one that gets semi regular use
Huh. Maybe the dually is to blame?
My dad has a 2500, so no dually
Oh, I got mixed up lol. Still a monster lol
The fuel economy of his 2500 is probably better than his 1500, but diesel fuel is so damn expensive that it's still cheaper to just use that
Idk trucks well enough to have any theory why
Idk how that truck is still going
220K miles on original engine and transmission
That's a unicorn
He didn't make the mistake of getting the 5.7
And it's got a lifetime warranty
Eh, the engine in it is probably one of the best engines Chrysler ever made; the pentastar 3.6 V6
Pentastar?
Yuh
pentagram but a star
As long as you can keep up basic maintenance, the pentastar is bulletproof
That's wild lol. At least you got a rare chrysler W
Both Pentastars my family operates have been great
It sure wasn't a W for Chrysler lmao
It also depends on the car that its in
From what I've heard, it's not great in sportier cars
I meant the engine, my bad
yeah my dad's coworker has a '14 charger with it and it's been reliable for him
my unc on the other hand had a 300 and it was terrible
Especially odd because they're on the same platform
Oh
In that case that's a massive W for Chrysler because they put it in fucking everything
I think that if the engine is driven a little harder, it may start to fray earlier
My dad towed with the 1500 on occasion but he's not an idiot and knows how to handle trucks under load
yeah reliability was not so great
it was in the shop every other week
he sold it 4 years ago and since then bought a Lexus LS460 and probably never had to do anything other than oil changes lol
I'd take a Lexus over a Chrysler any day of the year
I have a '18 Genesis G80 and I absolutely love it. But holy shit is the dealership experience awful
standard Kia
It's so frustrating
oof what did it cost
oh, but still annoying lol
the most annoying part about it was that the turn signal was blinking quickly
which can sound irritating inside the car
That's by design to let you know a bulb or something is burnt out or not working
but yeah I know what ya mean
ironically enough the best part about the car is the engine and transmission
Everything else about it is ehhhh
Makes sense for a kia though
My brother has a stinger gt2 scorpion edition and it is funnnn lol
well our specific example has the theta II engine
and to say that engine has a bad reputation is an understatement
Oh absolutely
why'd they get rid of the stinger š
Some one can sell me the lune chebureck??? I have to cosplay russian hardbass
time to open a GoFundMe (sarcasm)
Wtf is 73k in "equipment"
options
God damn
what is a gas guzzlers tax
well i can infer what it could mean but are all ICE vehicles in whereever you live receive a tax like that
If a vehicle's combined city and highway fuel economy value is below 22.5 miles per gallon (MPG), then it will be considered a gas guzzler and the tax will be imposed on it.
some US rule
It wouldn't be a Porsche 911 without the options costing as much as a luxury car in their own.
And itās one-time?
Yea it's there when you purchase the vehicle
22.5 combinded is high as fuck to be taxed on though
I dont think the US's gas guzzler is that much
Suvs minivans and pickup trucks don't have it
Some old cars probably get worse mileage
So the gas guzzler tax is mainly for muscle and super cars
Especially like really old carburated engines
This tax started in 1978 so Ibwonder what the requirements were back then
Though at this point theyāre probably extinct
Cars that get less than a combined rating of 12.5mpg will get taxed $7000
There are very few cars that get that low though
hellcats
Only one off the top of my head would be the Bugatti Veyron/Chiron
"On paper" they get more but irl that car does gallons per miles
What ass backwards shit is that that Korean powertrain is the best performing part
idk!
but the car has been relatively understressed, around 9k miles a year
of just city driving
i actually like them
Volls Voyce
they dont LOOK bad at all
I'd honestly rather have someone tell me to go kill myself than tell me this
frunk cant even fit a human being, let alone two
this is absolutely unacceptable
how am i supposed to do my job now
i suppose you can then go and patronise and insult their hobbies back
but i guess you really cant do much about people who consider their own motor vehicle to be whitegoods
Letās hope we run out of lithium
Before they figure out a cost-effective way to recycle it
Then they canāt force us to drive electric
Peteol cars go vroom vroom
Both bad
no one
ferrari: ferrari fuck
What do you guys think of this new Audi?
Dear god imagine the price of a dashboard replacement
Call me old fashioned but I just want a physical speedometer, analog or digital, and physics dials for AC and radio
My new Carnival has the media and climate controls sharing the same touch screen. You have flip back and forth to change. Very annoying
Nah thatās completely reasonable. For some reason every automaker decided to shove these basic things into the infotainment which is completely unpractical
Also idk who thought having ipad screens looks cool
If the heated/cooled seats and climate control are not physical buttons then the company made an error.
The ONLY exception is if the center screen is absolutely huge and a sliver of the bottom of it always has climate control on it
Or if it is dual screened and the bottome screen has those features etc
It just has to be constantly present to not be an absolute nuisance
Tesla is the worse when it comes to this, they make opening the fucking glovebox a function of the screen, so you're telling me I gotta turn the car on go into a menu then select "open glovebox" when I couldn't just pressed a latch like any other car in existence?
Tesla is all about gimmicks
What bothers me is that alot of automakers are heading in the same direction
Here's the Carnival. It's so frustrating not having a physical button to feel for.
I hate how the driver's side temp doubles as volume too
Oh nah that's goofy
Yea thatās pretty much every kia nowadays
I think you could get buttons on the lower trims
Ahh makes sense.
It's frustrating too that we have 2 blank buttons in center console and I think 2 more left of the drivers wheel. But it's the top trim with everything besides the mounted tablets.
Dealer confirmed the buttons are blank by default š¤¦
That is awful
Yuppp. Slim pickins on mini vans though. Siennas impossible to get even with markups, odyssey is outdated, and I'm not taking a chance on the last surviving Chrysler
Do NOT get the Chrysler Pacifica
I know FCA products have their issues but my god the Pacifica has like half of them in total lmao
Idk how they can fuck up that badly
I know better lol. Not that I trust Kia, but 100k power train and my dealer extended to lifetime.
Not that they have a choice with their reputation
At...some point, Kia will get their powertrains right
Soonā¢ļø
I think they made this with the idea that you should just use the media controls on the steering wheel
still stupid nonetheless
Yeah and I do when I'm driving, but otherwise it's annoying. Accidentally turning off the AC when I'm just trying to change volume
That's more like it
The font and overall look says Chrysler to me
Genesis my beloved
š
time to go to the UK
The grill and headlights make it look so goofy for me
Don't see these often. Thought it was an old Defender before it passed
it's better than the old defender
because it has the great and almighty BMW B58 engine
Fancy Defender. Hopefully it gets off road
It's actually right at the moment too! Lol
oh is it stuck or something lol
I dont adjust the car's clock for daylight savings since I always have Android Auto running with the correct time on the screen above lol
ahhh i see
daylight savings is weird
genesis's are cool tho
i really like the new gv70
their styling is nice
The new styling is nice but their old styling just looked out of GTA lmao
Yeah I really like Genesis' design language for the most part. Worth whatever they spent poaching Bentley's head designer
Marshmallow
i remember when I was young and dumb I used to pronounce buick as bwick, like quick, its like owo-fying a word lmfao
still sounds weird when I saw bew-ick tho
enjoying open top driving, but at fuckin 453km/h
Imagine lifting your hand up š
You'd lift it up and nothing would come back down
Fire
when i wasn't young(~6 years ago) i pronounced it boo-ick
big wang

most iconic bugatti colourway
Not true
Blue is
Either fully blue or blue and black
I'd argue the orange and black is a more synonymous color with Bugatti
Bugatti themselves seem to think so, given how much they've used that combo
Wana laugh?
š
Am I correct in assuming it was AI that gave that response, like it did when I searched that?
Bugatti is so old and has been bought out so many times that their "iconic colors" have generation lmao
But when I think of Bugatti overall I think of that light blue on the old race cars from the 20's and 30's and the eb110
For me it's the black and orange and then the blue
I started getting into knowing real cars when the Veyron SS was making the rounds so I think that's why the black and orange is so synonymous with Bugatti to me
Yea
Ai kinda braindead
Same
And the veyron also had a blue that was really iconic aswell
And all thei new cars are mostly blue by default (i mean as show cars ect. Ofc colors vary)
The SS is probably the most well known Veyron though for obvious reasons
Personal fav is the vitesse
I wonder what a straight piped Veyron sound like
Or a Veyron with a less restrictive exhaust system
Its sounds like a car

Stradman changed the exhaust on his veyron couple years ago
Before selling it ofc
he did, he changed it to the same one that houston crosta put on his
best color my beloved
I think Houston is also the one who installed for him too
Our Gintani Revuelto banging through some gears on the dyno. Production is in full swing so get your orders in by emailing sales@gintani.com #Lamborghini #Gintani #Dyno

I like fighting climate change and all, but I think we can all agree having small production numbers of v12's out there does jack shit to impact our environment
Save the penguins and save the v12s
The world is big enough for both
Especially when private jets draw FAR more emissions...
and are widely used by celebrities
At least the V12 sounds good to my ears
Real
pollution only applies to us poors
@kind osprey hurry up

Nah that thing os probably crazy expensive
theres a coupe model as well? š
mhm
