Imagine a future where car mechanics are not men on overalls all greased up with multiple tools but some dude with a laptop

That's already what half of them are
You need a laptop for fucking everything on a car these days
Tbf with modern scantools you can already diagnose damn near most things
I mean yea but with evs, only thing that has to be replaced is a battery
That's not necessarily true
Assuming they use conventional brake pads and discs and what not
No like with shift to evs, we'll be replacing more than repairing at a significantly higher rate than before
Yes, including conventional brake systems

Unless those get phased out
If regen could get to a point where it can be used instead of normal brakes we'll probably just have a drum brake set for parking purposes
The vw id cars already have ditched rear disk brakes for drums
Going backwards 40 years I see

Do EVs have brakes on the individual wheels or is it somewhere else on the driveline?
Some of them have conventional disc, pad and rotor systems
Its like the 20s and 30s flathead hotrod era
We know ev is gonna stay and we can make huge power but we still haven't mastered it
Regen is like a dynamo on the motor
It's so so so much easier to get huge power from EVs
Ah
You know what a KERS system is?
Nope will check it out
Ooh f1 stuff
Heard of it in the la ferrari no idea how it really works
Recovers the energy otherwise lost, like when braking, and stores it in a battery
And you can then apply that to throttle for a short moment of more power
That's the simple explanation
Wait. Are F1 cars hybrid?
I mean like a technical perspective
Kinda
Sort of
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or genuine
Like they aren't plug in prius style hybrids
Right
I believe it's the same way the LaFerrari is
Ye
The electric motors and Engine work in tandem all the time
One can't be used without the other
Of course a LaFerrari makes a much better noise
Every Ferrari post 458 is mid
Except the F12
Including the f12

They didn't say when
Fuck you
🔫
Crucially
I lowkey think they're doing this to increase sales
Even the challenger
It technically just was a concept
When the probe was coming people thought the rwd mustang was dead and panic bought a lot of them
This gave them enough money to keep selling them
It says here next generation though
https://abcnews.go.com/Business/corvette-z06-breaking-barriers/story?id=90693485
The only V8 American sports cars we'll have by 2025 is the Corvette and mustang
That isn't very specific
Unpopular opinion i don't really like the c8
Not its mid engine-ness but lack of manual
I just hope they still build ICE Corvettes
Unfortunately for you they will probably never be a manual C8 offered by Chevrolet
Will there be a turbocharged Corvette though?
Ffs
Please God no
Supercharged or NA
I would take the supercharged over NA
Then again the idea of a supercharged flatplane V8 just sounds wrong

I'm really not sure about the introduction of a flatplane V8 to a Corvette
I was absolutely not expecting that
The real question is would you ever consider buying one if a Manual option was available
cause its always the same people who complain about cars not having manuals but wouldn't buy one regardless
same type of people with the A90 Supra
I wouldn't afford it now
But I will like 5-10 years later
@urban pond @final robin I can see the supra having a manual because it's really just focused on fun but the corvetter is more on the upper end of the price and performance spectrum so I don't know how well a manual version would do tbh.
People cry manual and praise it so hard but dual clutch/autos and paddle shifters are objectively faster and easier and usually when a product is easier and provides an objective benefit it tends to become the new normal.
I like manuals they are fun but they are by no means efficient or the most technologically effective way to shift
by almost every metric it is an outdated thing but it is kept by enthusiasts solely for the fun factor
i wouldn't say the Supra is focused on fun that what the 86/GR86 have been for the past decade
ripping a manual car through a curvy mountain road, not much beats a feeling like that.
It's disgusting
Manuals are definitely fun but a Car like the new C8 would be terrible with a manual imo
especially the Z06
Yea the corvette better of auto if it wants to fight ferraris
But hey atleast we have camaro
what the actual fuck, that looks like a knock off kit of a fiero or mr2 trying to be a bmw
that is horrendous
It'll never turn like a Ferrari but it's a sub 100k car so for it's worth it does alright
imo the Corvette has finally taken the jump to a lower price range super car
Yea
the new c8 is kinda ugly to me because it's so narrow
and the wheels look too small and thin on it
Not actually beat ferraris i mean as a performance bargain
i mean the Z06 will probably beat a few ferraris
is it a bargain for 100k?
for what you pay for in terms of performance, i'd say so
muh honda civic gaps it and it costs 500$
crack
is a hell of a drug
you'd think for a company that slaps the same grill on every car they'd make it look better tho
No modern bmw has been looking good they are all slowly getting ruined
the m8 and the 5 series are the only ones untouched I think
or should I say unmolested
I would say the 7 series but the electric one looks hideous
normal is fine though
Looks wise Mercedes hasn't changed since 2014 their "new" generation just looks like a yearly face lift of the older generation (2014-2020)
it's what they are doing on the inside
the 4 cylinders on flag ship amg cars
what
i'm sure it goes fast and performs great but yea it's a tiny four cylinder
On the a class?
idk about the e class but I know it's on the c
can still get a C Class with a V6
not V8?
not rn this is like next year or the year after stuff
c43 and c63 will have four cylinder engines
8
12 cylinder s classes are only reserved for the highest amg models and maybachs
and those are going away as well I assume
was there a g class with a V12
yea the g65 last generation
but that generation of g sucked ass
the newer ones are a lot better
Ye m550i is ny favorite because it is untouched
I like the older one purely for the looks
I dont like the latest mercs
I have a feeling that they'll end it soon
The new g class kept the same shape but fixed all the issues the last generation had
the last generation idk how anybody drove that god damn thing as a daily it was horrendous
as a true offroader was back in the day i guess
now everything is a luxury car
to the mall and back
lol
To the mall and to the autoshop
Screens and downsizing
The c63 has an integrated starter generator, e-supercharger, turbocharger and a plug in hybrid system😵💫
they're nice Suvs ill give em that but i would want to buy one as a daily driver
No off-roading on those giant wheels with rubber band tires
I would love to get an early 2000's g wagon as a secondary car, stuff some used portal axles on it and make it a monster
The only reasonably modern merc i like is the s65
I like the the 2000s ones even more
i've always had a soft spot for the SLS and AMG GT
one weird thing about it is that the Windows reflect each other
you see a ghost car from the other side on the opposite window
They all look the same unless you go up close it's not even an exaggeration. Most people cannot distinguish a 1998 from a 2013
all of us in here can
but I mean generally
my favorite one is the 2 door
imo thats been a majority of the 3 main Euro brands
I'm talking about the g wagon
what are you talking about?
all them looking the same for the past generations
Except bmw
you mean like compared to one from 2015 and one from 2022?
Bmw is the worst for that
I was mad all day when my 2013 5.0 got gapped by an a45
Audis and mercs okay they look somewhat similar
Audi added more cuts and lines ruining their beautiful initial designs
Mercs actually got prettier
wdym beautiful initial designs Audis were ugly until they got saved. The only good looking audi's from yonder that didn't look like copy paste volkswagen sedans were the quattros from the 80's and the rs2 co developed by Porsche
🔫
well Audis are VW
I do agree that Audi's nowadays look like consumer Lamborghinis, it's interesting but can be overdone
that's the problem
Not like 2005 old, like 2018 old
a 2008 a6 and a 208 passat both looked like round snails
at least an a6 looks like a proper luxury car now
and not some reskinned economy seller
2018 is not old
I mean this was the prettiest audi from last decade
looks boring, not in a good or bad way, but it's just very subtle and dull
looks nice to drive to the golf course and home
That gen of coupes was never really a stand out type of car
I really like classy German coupes
Look how they uglified the s8
I mean id take an e92 335i over the s5 any day
e92 3 series was farily boring as well, the only looker was the m3 when it had all the stuff added to it
Yea to me its the hyper aggressive cuts and lines that ruin it
But that said I never really preferred audis over bmw or merc tho

well it's not wrong, base models tend to look like doggy doo doo with Euro cars because they are usually all optioned out like crazy
oh I love talking about cars I can't afford
same car but massive difference
relatable
Bottom is absolutely stunning
Top idk looks it it will explode
it must be hard to find these stock I can barely find a google image of one without shitty plastic bodykits taped to it
"oi this new s class is ugly" yeah and it costs like my apartment
Most of the older ones I see are modded asf
at least in meets
1/3 have slicks
The best s class of the decade

The two door looks so eloquent
V12 621 hp mahn
Now literally depreciated half
sounds about right

they were like $120,000-$140,000 spankin new and four-five years later they are probably $59,995 at local jimmy and jons used car lot
oh you were reffering specifically towards the amg ones
whaat
well I think the Maybach coupe was an extremely limited line that was only around for a year
it was like $330,000 and they made only a few hundred of them for the world
I dont like the new maybachs
Too much chrome
Like a lady with too much makeup
The 62 and 57s were super nice (when they work)
omg the 62 was seriously something else
that thing was insane
It really was the true Roll Royce killer of its time
but after the 57 and 62 Maybach just became a littlee tiny shoudler model instead of a fully put out company that was branded everywhere.
so now a Maybach is just a better s class
which has its ups and down
upside is it's $200,000 instead of $350,000-$500,000
All those screens will look super crap after 3 years of fingerprints and scratches
downside is it isn't better than Roll Royce anymore
If i had the money and was cross-shopping id get an m550i and save the rest of the cash
Then again I don't have the money
If rolls royce is 100% then a regular s class would be like a 90% and the Maybach s600 is 95%
but back then there existed real RR competition
like the mulsanne and the s62
both of which are gone
rr sucks these days too
In what way
they are more traditional than a southern family with 6 loaded rifles on the wall they don't stray from anything quality wise
Idk the interior looks dated already
'21 version?
It doesn't though, look up new rolls royce's they are insane
some of the things they do to these interiors
They custom design the entire dashboard for you with any material you want
Wooden interior
I dont care if they put the queen's wedding dress stitched to the headliner it still has bmw switches
The only thing it shares with bmw are internal components
even the chassis is in house
Stuff like the infotainment some switchgear etc are cheaped out
most of them are because only old people buy these things
Nothin about that car is cheaped out everything small like the blinker knobs etc are wrapped in either some fancy aluminum or leather
it's the least amount of plastic i've ever seen in a vehicle

10 year old me would be screaming at this color combo, omg I love blue accents like this
Idk I've seen reviewers complain about the switchgears
Besides I don't like rrs or bentleys of today
Not as reliable as before

The straight 6 silver spurs were strong
To me RRs and Bentleys have gotten very.. superficial
They'll look cool now but after 10 years it will be really outdated
ten year old RR's and Bentley's even 30 year old ones still ride better and have more opulence than most new cars.
They are made to be the best and that stands the test of time
even if the screens and tech become outdated, true luxury never goes out of style
Technically German now
Bentley is owned by VW group
RR is owned by BMW
I think even classic RR and Bentley cars such as these are still seen as luxury cars and expensive until now.
Personally, I would prefer having a 1960 RR Silver Cloud over an entry level Mercedes-Benz and BMW sedan.
Idk what's an entry level sedan of MB but I know that BMW 320i or 315i is an entry level sedan of BMW.
Yea this is what i mean
These cars are so much more.. solid
These cars are collector's items with high sentimental value.
But i wouldn't buy it instead of a 320i tho
If i had that kinda money I'll buy an octavia/superb and save the rest
Or maybe a civic si and a miata

Well, I'm planning to buy a used Mustang V8, I think it's 2017 model
Noice
That would be 1-2 years from now
You into camaro ss ile
Personally, I wouldn't buy brand new cars here, only used to avoid paying hefty price tag due to taxes and I don't have anyone I trust who owns a Camaro
Hmm
Since my mentor might migrate, I would probably end up doing him a favor if I buy his Mustang anyway
Hmm
My reason of buying a Mustang is to be able to travel fast
Is it manual
AT
Aah still very nice choice
And nice paintjob too
At least it's a Porsche. What can possibly go wrong with owning a Porsche?

Like if you're able to buy one, even if it's old
Porsches are relatively more reliable than other germans ig
I think Porsche does have a reputation for reliability among high end sports car, I saw random comments which even call it the Toyota in that segment/market
Ye
And if you ask me, I would still pick a Ford Mustang over a Nissan 370z
I wonder if this is a performance car or not.

When I become regular in my airline career
Oh my, maybe a Chevrolet high ranked employee read my chat in this channel...
middle aged men punching the air rn
Now, we need this to become a reality too.
https://www.autoevolution.com/news/what-if-the-toyota-supra-evolved-into-japan-s-ultimate-sports-suv-193273.html
Dont give them ideas
No, we don’t
Who is "we"
that looks horrendous
It do
SUVify all the things
and dangerous
those extremely rigid bodies tend to kill whoever's hit, and whoever's inside
I would genuinely like to see something akin to this. Not a sporty suv, but a sportscar that can be used off-road
a safari 911 type of thing
Bentley's country of origin is Britain, and they have always been built there the parent company never determines where their country is from
Lamborghini is still Italy, Bugatti is still France
Chrysler dodge and jeep are still American, range rovers and Jaguar are still British,
So Lamborghini was American at one point, got it
You can thank Lamborghini with the viper's V10
Hot take
But
Id rather dodge discontinue the viper in 2017 with the V10 than still make it as an EV
Sounds like a good take to me
Don't use the corpse of what a legend was to make some shitty remake
Let it rest and be marveled at
Listen to this Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi is long dead
Hell yea
Fr, fr
I'd be contributing to horrendous war crimes but it's probably $70,000 a year with benefits out of college so who cares
I'll use that money to buy a Lotus Elise and an old is300

We die like real men
So you don’t even buy one of their cars? Shame!
True but you have to remember that they can be manufactured in the country of the parent company's country
Also range rover and jaguar are under Tata and are mostly manufactured in India now
Every one I listed is built where they are founded
Which doesn't change the fact that they are unreliable but you get my point
Cheaper cars may build them elsewhere
And I think Maserati builds some cars in Finland which is kinda random
I forgot if that was actually a thing
Finland isn't exactly a terrible place to have factories though
Also the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque are manufactured in India
eh
logistically it's awful
but their scandinavian neighbours to house a lot of resources and technology, which is nice
india is a ''better'' place
in terms of labour conditions, it's awful
but india does have better export abilities and routes than finland

box car!
mitsubishi be slapping their iconic names on weird cars
coming soon, the evo reboot
the evo 1 suv ev
living conditions and taxes too
is that the kuruma from gta
yea
FINALLYYY
Name the extremely rare ferrari
Ferrari nismo 240zx gtr gen 7 testarossa
Ferrari LaFiero
Jus cannot wait to get my 928 done
process of restoration yes?
Yep
Went through 6 owners couldn't get it started i got it started after bout 5 years
And thing is In doing it for cheap and for show not gonna be a garage queen
Gadam that's a messed up 928, that looks like a great project car good luck

It must be satisfying to fix up something in that condition
It was a full body before but everything was wrong lmao
The previous restorers lost and broke so many parts its better to just take the whole thing apart and do it right
Don't see too many 928s anymore. Tons of 944s, but 928 kinda rare
This was it before
928 rare cos nobody knows how to work on it
Its a complex and tiny engine in an even smaller engine bay
tbf just a few years ago they weren't worth the expense.
There's a fuel actuator, filter, resonator, and fuel pump
All those cars have skyrocketed in value over the last decade-ish
Hi bros
Euro cars dipped into the shadows for a few years and just blew up during covid and Ebola and whatever else happened
Also why so many are just half assed barely running cars with expensive wheels and a wrap
I wish I was born earlier ngl
Don't know bro
Dw we will be fine
Fr
Before you know it recession 11 will hit over this decade and we all become broke
From there there will be reforms and riots
K
And there be new Dollar system and a smart govt
Back when I was in HS you could get a decent 944 for $4k

Yea 944s the cheap mans 928
They're funny looking its like a spaceship
They have a very unique rear profile with those windows
They just need a bit of stance and it'll be beautiful
Oh no please don't stance it
Yea its a very modular looking car in person lol
Not stance entirely
A couple centimeters
I'm biased against them but I still think they're interesting cars
928s have like a rulers worth of ground clearance lmao
They're the luxury Saloon version of a 911
Didn't they have a V8
Can't remember think its crossplane for the 4.5 and 4.7 but flatplane for the 5.0
I do know they're all 90° motors tho not 60s
Eh, a V8 is a V8
Yea lmao
Its still nippy tho
370 rated hp from stock on a 1400kg body
Fast for the 80s, a Camry nowadays
Took America like 30 years to get back to that kind of power
In regular-person cars anyway
(I'm an American cars > everything else kind of person)
Oh lmao
I just like top speed sound and lowriders ion really bias countries
Thats why In my garage I've got 8 cars varying the world basically
There are cars I like from all of the regions, I just like American cars more basically by default
Yea same tbf
American cars just strong same with euros
Like you feel fine when going fast not like it's gonna fall apart lmao(except Tesla)
I've ridden in some pretty sketchy American cars
Granted they weren't in the best condition
Fieros and Vettes from the 80s in any southern or western state
Then I think any car person has been in that sort of situation
Yea I've gone 100 in my 62 beetle
Do not recommend lost a hubcap and some dignity that day
Yea but ever in a beetle b4?
On a track, in a controlled scenario
No
Mexico per se
Beetles sketchy as fuc bro when you ride in em its shaky as hell
No, it was actually that
The car wasn't mine
Ok I'll just stop beating around the bush lmao
It was an R8
Oh nice lol
If we lived close it would've been a fun race between my lumina
500hp similarly and similar top speed
The acceleration was other-worldly
Nah, it was stable
It was the R8 V10 performance
Yeah, I reached close to that speed iirc
Oh word
I'm an American
Yea I had the first gen one that I took to 180 then tapped off
That R8 spoiled me
The one I drove was a '19
Mines was like a 2014 or sum lmao one of the first of the first models
Even in the most serious mode, it was still very easy to drive despite the power
Low speeds specifically
Very fun very safe with tech for drivers who don't kno what to do sometimes
Yea still is a very good car honestly
They didn't let me do manual mode
What

As it overloads with manual gear selection
So its not safe if you can't counter snap steer which even the gt3 R8s have
I mean they let people driving the hellcats use manual, so
Yea cos hellcats emulate manual esc and have a disable button
On DCTs it overloads the memory to try manual like that
Blew up my esc box on my R32 Golf to know how lmao
Yea ofc but its a similar system
The only cars they didn't allow people to use manual on was the Shelby GT500 and huracan
7
Oh den dats odd lmao
I wish they offered a Camaro ZL1 but
Zl1 most ppl wouldn't be able to see out off lmao
Only really need to see forwards really
Good ol Camaro front view being bad since 2009
I wish they didn't restrict the lines we could take as much
then again I did kinda stop listening halfway through the drive
Lmao all track drivers ignore instructors after like 10mins
I'm not even sure I was out that long
I wanna drive the hellcat quite badly
I want that supercharger whine
It jus pulls its fun as fuc
Yea a 2.3l supercharger should do the trick lmao
Like this truck isn't that fast but damn does it sound awesome
That shit prob fast asf lmao light frame and body on a v8
It's a 5.3
Ye ain't dat like 3 - 400hp
300 max
300 fast lmao shit jus dummy quick nowadays
I mean
My maverick has a better quarter mile then that truck, assuming that truck is stock anyway
How do you know it's a stroker
That idle is the squarebody
Then the square body stroked lmao
Oh alr ye prolly den
I have no idea what sort of upgrades the squarebody has
Ye squarebody sound fast tho
Old car+no mufflers automatically means beefy sound tbf
Na its stroked you can hear the chop
On good cams too idle drops too slow to be stock
Tbf it was in gear
Na smallblocks take a while to drop regardless of gear
Built ones drop fast for racing performance
Thas no exhaust rite there
At idle it was louder then that bugeye at redline
Ye thas pure header noise lmao
The engine doesn't have paint on it of any kind
That's how you know the shit ain't stock☠️
...In case it wasn't obvious due to other factors
Bruh goes to the most redneck college out there lmao
All-automotive school in bumfuck, OH
I think my dorm room accounts for like a fifth of the newish vehicles on campus💀
Lmao
One of my roommates has one of my dream cars
Wat he got
2017 Silverado in a blue pearl
Z71, LTZ, 6.2
Veri nais
It's nothing crazy but I've always wanted a truck like it
Just let me have my attainable dream cars alright
I wish it was

I physically cringe at that porche
Mmm Chevy SS
I don't see a Porsche in there

I like planes

What plane is your favourite?
airline planes in general
t r u k
Cute and tiny truck 🤗
Yep, very tiny
What😱
I say u in #anime-manga
I am very disappointed
I personally hate stanced cars

So long R8, it's been good.

Imagine A month later Huracan gets discontinued too
It's so hard to say goodbye to respected cars like this...
Ah shit, now a key to our van was lost, how do we disable the alarm without the remote key?
Is it possible to change the codes of immobilizer and transponder key to make sure the lost key's access will be removed?
I have no idea
Maybe call the dealer or something
A wild DeLorean at new york Comicon
It's sooo cool in person i swear 😩
One of the best looking mercedes sedans imo

Tesla semi has entered production

real

Oh my

My dumbass is trying to figure out what car that was supposed to be
imagine being at a checkpoint at midnight and it went completely dark
Sounds like a tuesday here
the r8 is my dream car 😦
looks like i gotta set the bar lower
Then they speed up when you try to overtake

Here people drive in the emergency lane to pass traffic
Here we have no lanes
Damn I need a motorcycle
Me too
Hmm
Public transport is really starting to get on my nerves
I really want an Enfield but that's out of my budget
I'm looking forward to buy one of those cheap used 125cc ones
The good thing is if you have a driving license here you can drive a 50cc without having a motorcycle license
Soo
Aah
Nice bikes
I googled it
I ride a 125cc scooter atm its fine and all does 2l to 100km but I feel like a kid on a tricycle
Greece
Just curious. Are there a lot of Japanese bikes in the Mediterranean?
Ye
Mostly Hondas or like Kawasaki/yamaha
Yep
I've seen some Ducati and some aprilla tho
And harleys
But more often it's japanese bikes
Not a huge fan of ducatis or other sportsbikes
Every 16yr has a c50 or a glx or a crypton x
And some other Lil bikes
How do you call them in English
I want something... mature like a cafe racer or an enfield
We literally call them ducks
Ye those are nice
I don't think I have the balls to go 200+ in a motorcycle
Especially in greece

I think I'll enjoy more at 70km on an interceptor than 200km on the verge of death
200+kmh with one foot in the grave

Not a bad way to die
Well
I would just see what the max speed I can go before I get turned to a mashed potato
I went 85 in my shitty scooter, its max speed
Everything was so shaky
if you give me the fastest bike in the world and you send me to highway 10 in sau with no traffic I would go top speed
I think the ninja h2 is the fastest
Prob not anymore
Ye
This is
440kmh
Well
doesn't account for rider, environment and if the tyres can actually handle it
which they probably don't
Who has the balls to go that fast
quite a lot of people
In a bike
but it's extremely sketchy because MTT isn't known for motorbikes, the design is hmmm
like, if suzuki, bmw, toyota, ducati, etc make a model like that
then people would genuinely want to try that
but that MTT bike seems extremely unsafe, untested and a bit of a scam
I've never heard of it
exactly
Also I've just noticed it has a fricking turbine engine
Mfs made a oppressor
Ye I wouldn't get in a motorcycle with a turbine
LOUD! Start up of a 2018 MTT420RR Turbine Powered Super Bike.
Oppressor mk1
Damn
Ew bikes
i agree

cars > fucking motorcycles
- they are so dangerous omg
- no shelter
- so loud
- just a small little bike and taking a whole lane on the road
Bikes are great, beautiful power to weight since you can shove a 1.3 liter 4 cylinder in it and it'll weigh only like 650 pounds
they'll go faster than mclaren f1's
but I would never user a bike on crowded public roads
I like bikes tho
Can't get a more connected motoring experience than a manual bike
too dangerous
I'm not much of a motorcycle person I can spot out cars from a mile away if I see a bike I still have to look at the brand logo lol
These would be in my garage if I had money to burn
I don't like these sports or super bikes
you like the fat people bikes?
Take out the 3rd
I like bullets but not stuff like Harleys
they are extremely loud
ah
Nortons are cool
Ye but it's nice
the only bike thats good is oppressor mk2
nice with ear plugs
bike engines do not any anything to dampen sound they can be like 120db
I can handle that with some painkillers

I'm joking have you heard a fricking superduke with a custom exhaust
only bike that is great is a flying bike
i wish these are more accessible in the future
i mean they already exist but they are so expensive
not really they are all shitty prototypes than are just ridable drones/mini helicopters
it'll never be something marketable or for sale

wow
Or concepts
well i want that
My ears were ringing
Has like 7hp of pure muscle
i want something that can fly but is small enough to fit in garage
And/or are the sort of concept that are never meant to advance past the stage of being a concept
It would be really uneconomical
do yall like rolls royce
why
A la the Lamborghini Egoista
They made one just because they could
It does look fun to do ngl but i'd rather to the water jetpacks those are more obtainable
The paint on the Egoista isn't exactly economical
Like, at all
I'm more of a supercar light agile handling car type person but I really respect the craftsmanship of luxury cars like Bentley, Rolls Royce, Maybach etc
Rolls Royce's method of building the cars is insane
Bell actually made a fully working, stable jetpack
It only flew for like 20 seconds or something though
they are completely justified to price them as expensive as they are
they are the last pre war style coach builder imo
And it was pneumatic iirc
guys like 200 feet in the air and it just stops
i like porsche but tbh practically a rolls royce would be better? like most of the time you cannot travel the speed a porsche can, so luxury would be more important at this point?
oof
Not if fuel economy is even a remote concern, which to be fair it won't be if you're the type of person that can afford a rolls
Most Porsche's are very all around cars, they are luxury and sport. Rolls Royce and Porsche are two very different companies with two very different goals. You oinly get a Roll Royce if you are not driving it, or just was to really get the best daily driving experience
Rolls Royce is 10/10 luxury but like 4/10 handling and sportiness. Porsche is 7-8 luxury but 9-10 sportiness
RR is for people who want the extremists 10/10 luxury
mercedes handling is really good
tbh i would personally rather have maybach over a rolls royce
old maybach's (2005-2011) or the newer mercedes trim ones?
newer ones
why tho
The 2011 Maybach s62 is a fucking monster it still beats modern maybach trim s classes
Anything over an m550i is pretentious to me
whats the most expensive/luxurious car yall ever sit in
the s class is kinda sporty
maybach is based on s class
Cognoscenti irl
New machbachs are fancy s classes tho
Yea the s57 and s62 were actual maybachs
they didn't share much s class to them
but the new maybachs are just s class trims
You know a car was good when it is almost 12 years old and still better than most new competition
s class are sporty
i like s class
i have sat in one many times because my malaysian uncle drives it all the time
but the interiors is always black, full black. and only blue lighting, and wasting money on shit he never uses
S classes are more luxury than sport if you was a sporty long luxury sedan you have to get a BMW 7 series
they are quite sporty too
especially with AMG engines
yea the amg helps most modern cars are a mush of everything, now every car is sporty tech filled and luxurious
back then it was one thing for each car
if you wanted a sports car it was bare bones and had no luxury
if you wanted a luxury car it was comfy but had no sport or kick to it
i want luxury and sporty
only in the mid 90's did this really change
before that you had a car for each occasion
now most cars do it all
tbh a taycan and s class from importers is not much difference in price
depends on where they're imported
a heavy ICE car tends to have much higher taxation than electric alternatives
taycan here is like SGD 351,958+SGD 95,856 (COE)
s class here is like SGD 508,988 inclusive of COE
here there is ARF rebates, they dont care if it’s electric or not, it is based on emissions, A2 emissions gets SGD 15,000 ARF rebate, for A1 they get SGD 25,000
here it's a mix of pre-tax value, emissions, power output, car class and weight
well ARF is basically a tax on the vehicle based on OMV
@final robin maybe a motorcycle isnt that bad now
Consider following for more automotive related content, thank you!
For the prices you spend on sports cars nowadays it’d be dumb not to have a lot of these features
In india its legal thats why i do it
In some countries like usa you cant do this in traffic jams
why cant you

I get it tho
In jams bikers go left and right taking every possible gap annoying the hell out of people
Besides if they scratch a car it's hardly a smudge on their handlebars but an expensive repair for us
A 5 series is an e class equivalent
It's not onnthe same level as a 7 series, s class, Maybach, or Rolls Royce
But it's also cheaper so that makes sense
You dont need more
Yea the 5 series is a very good sedan
Stack up options make it like $85,000 and it's probably the best equipped sedan on the market rn sub 100k
The sedan versions
Isn't the M3 a 4-door now
Ye
M4 is coupe
Both are fugly
M3 m4 are manual which is good but if you are looking for auto m550i is a better deal
@kind osprey are car lanes wide in America
i heard its very wide
here its literally nothing but 2.8 meters
I love this car ad.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmSEC6hSBes
I have no idea why I made this
The Toyota Corolla is one of the best-selling cars ever made, and has been sold in a number of different countries outside of Japan, included the United States, Brazil, Venezuela, Turkey, Australia, and many others.
This ad was created in 1986 for the fifth generation Toyota Corolla, known as the Corolla E80, for...
Singapore
Are those prices in USD???
SGD sir
still probably triple the price they are normally
that is SgCarMart a Singapore car website so its SGD
cant
if you a resident of singapore you cannot drive foreign registered vehicles in
for work pass holders not residents of singapore you can drive it in but must keep it out for at least 6 hours a day
for tourism yes you can
foreign registered vehicle need to pay VEP
Learn about the requirements needed to enter and exit Singapore with a car or motorcycle registered in Malaysia.
It's gotta be cheaper to bring a $500,000 RR and pay their bullshit than to pay $1,400,000 just to simply have it ready for you
I just really find it baffling how much they upcharge cars there
It's almost unethical but I heard the transit is good there at least
Looks could be worse but 3800 pounds
So its as heavy as an m4
its not unethical at all
singapore is a land with like very small space
and we actually have a shit ton of people
unless you want traffic jam to be fucking crazy there has to be some form of vehicle quota control system
so the truth is that not everyone will be able to get a car
the bidding system is the best way possible, whoever pays the most gets it, if you dont get it you can take public transport and enjoy the peak hour squeeze
and unlike american cities that arent very walkable, and unlike european cities that arent really driveable, singapore has a good balance
in those heavy traffic area our roads are wide enough for cars to drive without much traffic jam and for people to walk around without isses
its a really well designed city imo
the only thing i disagree with is them now building public housing in prime locations, bro i would not like public housing to be built next to my luxury condo and ruin the vibes and property price
its not like you NEED to live in the prime locations anyways
What do you guys think of this?
https://www.autoindustriya.com/auto-industry-news/japanese-company-developing-night-vision-for-cars.html
Didn't mercedes s class have it like 15 years ago
Cool but it works only on select situations
lmao yes
luxury cars always get advanced features first
then it goes to the executive
like E class
then goes down to like cheap cars
Yea
I dont mind having an extra eye of safety and all but if its connected to autobraking a stops the car for no reason at all I'd be mad
i dont like many features to go to those cheap cars
if they do that then i hope the more expensive ones gets even safer and more features
First step towards safety is to remove the stupid reliance on screens
like now entry level cars get so many features
Such a distractor
screens are cool
well voice assistant exists
Maybe
but yes, i agree there should be buttons on the steering wheel
but tbh these high end cars will have autopilot
i think better cars should still be safer
after all everything should be much better if im paying 3 times more
Idk
Either i want full self driving or complete control
