He is widely considered the father of the Corvette
He made the Corvette what it is today
He also just generally pushed the limits and did some world-firsts and records
Its the lack of a manual that upsets me more tbh
Also the design feels platonic
It isn't ugly but there's nothing really standing out
C3 corvette had that flair to it that none of the successors had
But that's not such a deal breaker for me
Celestiq looks really nice, but i lowkey wished it was a traditional sedan.. otherwise atleast more wagony
The front is pretty cool, but the back side window behind the back door being cut off like that with a hatch behind it looks wonky as fuck
You make a wagon to get more space then coupefy it for style
Taycan looks pretty 3 box
Not a huge fan of the amg either
You have a small back window in a jagged shape but right behind have the most swoopy round slope tapering off the end of the car
It's a horrible clash
What the heck is a 3 box
You know 3 box sedan
Cars from the 30s and 40s looked like the celestiq
The first mercedes s class changed that trend if i remember correctly
Idk how anything rounder than a circle could look like a box
Out of all these new weird crossovers Porsche usually does a great job with their suvs and wagons the only one they screwed up was the first generation Panamera because they wanted to give the back seat occupants more head room
But now we have every Silicon Valley startup owners wet dream
Something that can fit their dog in the trunk lol
Ohhh you were still talking about the Cadillac
Ye
Yea that has that three box thing
Not really, the back window has to be big, if you consider that to be a third window then ever sedan on earth is a culprit
The amg 4 doors window doesn't even give the appearance of another section for cabin space
It's tiny and swoops down It's like the exact opposite
Wdym i mean the celestiq or amg gt doesn't look like true sedans to me
It is like a fastback when was it ever a true sedan
Yes this is what i mean
But it looks nothing like a three box or whatever peolle call it, that's a luxury car thing like a Rolls Royce commonality
The a7 fastback looks more normal for me
They both look fine, the a7 just has a flatter back
Yea the amg slopes down all the way like a porsche
💀
Why didn't that embed
I have no idea
It's hard to capture the beautiful proportions of the regular amg gt and make it four doors, Mercedes did a decent job with what they were confined with but idk why they even made that car to begin with
Doesn't the cls exist?
Yea cls is such a beautiful car
Not a huge fan of the new sl either
They ditched the s class coupe one of the last true luxury 2 doors
And made an amg gt cabrio
Exactly
Hopefully with the rr specter merc makes an eqs coupe
But seeing how ugly the eqs is i have no hopes

While working on wrapping this Dodge Viper, I was checking out all the vents and ducts and they are all functional. Some cars have vents that all all just decoration, but the Viper, all the vents are active and functional. You know it’s a very well built and designed car when there are so many functional aspects and it’s not just for looks. Are ...
That's odd to think about
Like they still produce great power but, no more big roar

V8 c63
Some business/performance/luxury models still use v8 engines, but yeah the majority uses i4
Oh
Yeah def
New amg models will shift towards i4 or v6 as well
I mean i4 do be sexi
I6
Sexy or not it's just not something that most are gonna be used to
When you think of top trim sport model, you don't think tiny 4 cylinder
Id depends on the size of the car tbh
E30 m3 had an i4 no problems at all
If the m2 had an i4 i wouldn't mind either
Todays 3 series and c class are really a size larger, so I'd expect a larger engine with more cylinders
Isn’t the GT63 still V8
Even 2023 is V8 Biturbo isn’t it?
Oh I thought u meant the year mb
Yea
Oh hi sull
Here it is much more peaceful than community
Ye no rapid messaging type of stuff
I mean depends on what you like
I watch a lot of endurance and rally, so my preference goes to small and efficient engines
People growing up in different car cultures have different preferences
Whether it's german/american v8s or an italian v12
Future generations of car lovers will cater to v6 and i4/3 engines
Small car on i4 is cool nobody says we want a v8 honda civic
But an e class on an i4 not so much
More cylinders not only give more power, they also provide it more smoothly
yea there is a reason Mercedes, Rolls Royce, and Bentley use v12's in their flagship luxury cars
Just the way 6 or 12 pistons flow is a lot more naturally balanced
I mean these cars could possibly have inline 6's one day but I wouldn't want a four cylinder in a Maybach or Rolls Royce
hell no
Yea besides more power through displacement is actually more efficient in autobahn speeds
i don't think many buyers care about the top speed of their rolls royce
which are probably electronically limited severely anyway
Yea i mean at say 100 120 mph
Electric and hybrid drivetrains could provide similar or even better smoothness
Though it requires quite a lot of resources for rnd
Smoother power delivery yes but there's only some so much you can do to reduce engine vibrations
The gasoline that drained out of a fuel filter with 120k miles on it. Looks like it did it's job.
that's some gross stuff there. I run fuel system cleaner every 3000 miles to help keep that filter clean along with the rest of the fuel system.
Nice
Yeah I usually run a bottle of techron through every time I do an oil change. This vehicle was just neglected by the PO. Twenty years worth of gunk.
Hard to tell. I've always had newer vehicles with lower mileage so it was more of a preventative thing.

long time no see sir
Sir? Bro

Nice kawasaki
why am i getting ghost pinged
where can i fill up :)
Wow, I watched a documentary which showed that Rolls-Royce founder and original owner was a poor man.
A poor man who founded the most luxurious UK car brand besides the supercar brands.
Aah i don't really like rolls all that much
Do you also prefer Bentleys?
Over rolls yea but not really
Rolls and bentley is doing this 'peripheral luxury' thing
Sure it has tilting screens and starlined roofs and whatnot but really they are german mainstream stuff underneath
If you look at the luxury cars from the 30 or 50s the duzies or Bentleys were physically multiple sizes above other cars
Every element of the car whether under the hood or outside where as bespoke as it could be
Now the phantom and continental are really nice cars but look a bit homogenized
They have to be to be safe and sellable. There are still huge differences between and Bentley Mulsanne and like a Toyota Corolla
Cars like maybachs, bentleys, rolls royce are still extremely different experiences than any other regular brand car trying to be a luxury car
They might even be so good that they are in the 90th percentile. But once you get to the $200,000-$500,000 ones from the big three, that is the last 10th percent that is missing
Rolls Royce, other than Bugatti and some other timy hyper car companies, is the only company that does what they truly want and does not conform to any methods that may impede the overall quality.
It is why they cost so much
They are the only true coach builders out there, Duesenburg, cord, aurburn, hispano suiza, they are all long gone
Cadillac used to be up there with all of those companies in its prime as a company but Cadillac is a prime example of appealing to a broader audience by adding plastic everywhere and making pieces of shit for decades
Only up until very recently have they started looking like luxury cars for the first time in 50 years. And even then they are all just reskinned chevys
Rolls royce has some bmw components but very few noticeable in the cabin and if they are from bmw they are from the maxed out 760 v12 model
A $200,000 7 series
Sure there's a difference between corolla and rolls/bentley but from large executive sedans like the s class or panamera not so much. The boat tail was the only rolls that really felt bespoke and exclusive enough to me even tho i dont like the cutlery taking up bootspace
The ghost really feels like a brougham 7 series
What do you guys use to transport yourselves around on a daily basis
A Subaru
Yeah I can’t drive
Im faster than most cars and bikes
damn you got some fast legs
The biggest reason I wouldn't is trunk space, there isn't any. Others include that I go distances where bikes would take forever, after work or some long thing I wouldn't wanna bike 50 minutes back home in pitch black night.
Bikes work great but only short alone city commutes in safe areas when you aren't carrying anything that can't fit in a bag
so it's a very niche mode of transportation here, 95% of people on bikes here just use them to exercise
as someone who usually rides 5-25 minute commutes and comes from a culture where bicycles are the main mode of transportation, I can say that the environment is more important than the actual vehicle. I can go anywhere I want, including different cities, within a 30 minute train ride. The closest supermarket is 2 minutes away, and if that one is closed, I can go to 4 different ones within 5 minutes. Riding bicycles here is faster than driving cars as the infrastructure is developed with pedestrians and especially bicyclists as priority. Bicycle infrastructure is completely separated from car infrastructure and cities are linked through various bicycle ''highways'' with well-maintained asphalt and lighting
if you need to carry stuff, you can always buy a bike with a luggage container
the one I showed can carry a crate in front
carrying luggage on a bike sounds like hell ngl, unless you guys have the flattest land on earth
and it must be an extremely urban or tight knit area to have a supermarket two minutes away biking/walking distance
not really, I live outside the city
it's just that we have a lot of supermarkets everywhere
mostly because people don't use cars
not really, unless it's very heavy or big
in which case a car is better
but most people here only need a laptop for work, or some clothing
If I worked at the closest mall to me, which is where a lot of my friends work, it would be a 10 minute drive that's artificially inflated because of how utter shit the vein roads traffic lights are setup. On a bike it would take about thirty minutes-twenty five minutes if you're pushing it hard.
I feel like i'd be physically able to take a bike to work, but I wouldn't 90% of the time. I don't want to worry about it being stolen, I want the ability to detour and maybe go somewhere else after work, I want the capacity to carry things/store things and not feel like a nomad with a giant bag on my back.
I can't think of a situation where bikes are nothing more than exercise things here.
ik some people use them for uber eats sometimes
like delivery
the issue with bicycles is that most governments, aside from the danish, dutch and swiss, have little to no urban planning that's compatible. Most of the time there's no accommodation, or simply some bicycle gutters. As most metropolitan areas are car-centric, the density of services and stores (like supermarkets or pharmacies) is far less dense than in pedestrian or bicyclist cities and you also have to ''compete'' with cars, which is senseless.
with the US for instance, everything is sparsely spread out and you can only go to places with a car (aside from some areas/cities like san fran or NY), in which case a bicycle is not very useful
I'm in a city so bike lanes are in a lot of places other than forest crossroads where you'd have to be suicidal to ride a bike on.
they are thin and have blind spots
yeah exactly, this completely ruins any potential bikes can have
not even cars, the deer alone would kill you
What possible solution would even work there, because the roads are only thin to protect the trees if they add bike lanes then you have to widen the road.
so it becomes and issue to solve and issue
it requires a complete overhaul of american infrastructure
we did that in the 80s, for instance
the netherlands used to have long and wide roads for cars, even within the medieval cities
that, isn't a thing that can happen though, like this specific road is thin and forest covered they can't widen it to make a bike line
all roads were halved in size, made artificially twisty and almost all new roads were made to accommodate bicycles
in other words, car and bicycle infrastructure were separated and the latter was given priority
American infrastructure is a city thing, so for ease of topic i'll just assume you are only taking about cities and dense suburban areas. Anything rural isn't worth discussing.
yeah rural is simply a matter of public transport
not at all no shot in hell lmao
it's too much money for basically nothing
they aren't spending $200,000,000 on a big train system to accommodate a few thousand people
very much possible and needed
switzerland has major railways and bus stations for cities that have less than 20K citizens
you can alleviate urban density through proper public transport
Switzerland is like 50 times smaller so doing an overhaul country wide makes sense
cities are being gentrified and suburban areas are either turning into gated communities, or inaccessible ghetto's
US rural is a whole different rural
a highspeed train network can connect remote areas very well
North Carolina for example, my friend lives maybe 45 minutes away from literally anything. supermarket, mcdonalds, pharmacy. anything else, maybe a few hours. Everything is trees, grass, farms. the only thing that isn't are thin roads that stretch around and connect to main roads ways away then those go to highways.
There isn't any use for a big ass train or even a trolley because these people wouldn't even use it. It would be used by like maybe half of the 600 people who live in that 10 mile radius
It works for Europe, and it is cool that it does but other than cities and suburbia America is too vast an unpopulated to even consider that type of investment
We have long train rides like amtrack
most abysmal thing to have ever existed
but no local things to accommodate the 12 people who live in humperskumpinpatch, Tennessee
even satan couldn't think of a punishment worse than amtrek
Making something to replace amtrek would be something I could agree on
I mean fair enough for the sparsely populated areas in american deserts or... plain nothingness
This, my friend, is 85% of the country
lmao
in terms of land mass, sure, but most people in relatively dense areas
In an ideal world I would like to see this, replacing the shit we have now with high speed rail, or even those tubes that elon wanted to make lol. We have those connect like interstates
so like New York to Los Angles for example
those still have no proper bicycle or public transport networks
or Florida to Texas
these could be used in enough capacity to actually give a damn about building and can replace plane and car usage
yeah our train station was used to develop an elon tube, only now have they began to use it for... trains
You don't use a bicycle for transportation in an area where your nearest anything is an hour away by car if you speed double over the limit
The only solution to get people off of cars and planes as their main transport would be to make long trip bullet trains
and that would be cool but it would cost a lot so they would have to make them routes people would actually use them for, start with city to city like Chicago to Philly
or New York to Florida
random stuff like that
then as it becomes more popular make more local ones
like Long Island to Brooklyn
which is maybe 30-120miles
exactly. Bicycles are already inefficient because there's no infrastructure, but because the US is car-centric, the distance between necessary shops is extreme. In such cases you need proper public transport
dep[ending on where you are
expanding current roads is extremely expensive
and unsustainable as bigger roads lead to more cars, and more cars to the need for bigger roads
huge issue the US has had since the 50s
Yea you could put all the bike infrastructure in the world in Flemington New Jersey but it won't change the nearest Shoprite being 1 hour and 20 minutes away by a car going 80mph xD
Yea They have the resources, but they jsut have to get off their asses and allocate them to these more efficient things
I'd say that, rn, bicycles would be perfect for extremely dense cities like NYC or san fran. Other cities that have significantly more stroads need better public transport
I love driving, I do not take more pleasure in anything but to drive. But for the people just needing a thing to get to work most would probably choose a bullet train over a car if it is just to get from a to b
NYC was easy to make public transport work in because we can take full advantage of the foundation and bedrock, we have everything, subways, tunnels, buses, $50 parking, shit that makes it useless to own a car in Manhattan.
this would be greatly beneficial to NY
So practically no one who live primarily in Manhattan has a car, and if they are rich enough to afford a nicer car they usually just have it chartered by a driver
this used to be a two-way asphalt street for cars
this looks like something you'd see in Manhattan
in the 90s they shut it down for a week and made a 2 way bicycle road where cars are ''te gast'', meaning that they can only go 30 km/h and need to give right of way to all bicyclists
the middle is a bicycle parking spot with a guard and cameras
the metro in NYC is quite abysmal as all the routes are straight, meaning that they're far away from where people actually live
but yeah NYC has a lot of potential
adopting bicycle and public transport-dedicated infrastructure significantly reduces traffic congestion, accidents and travelling times
also means that less of your money has to go to asphalt
yeah cars shouldn't be banished
they just have no place in dense urban areas
coming from a car guy even
That I can agree with, if I had any say in fixing the US I wouldn't touch truly rural areas because it would be too much money for no reason, people wouldn't even use them even if they were free.
I would instead just focus on working out any issues the really dense areas have, then work on suburban areas, like places where you can scream at the top of your lungs and a neighbor will still faintly hear it.
That's around when i'd stop
yeah that seems reasonable
no need to have a train system for 12 people in a 400km radius
none of which have travelled beyond those 400km in their 70 year lifespan
more than half of the country
damn us do be small
Here motorcycles are very common, a bridge between cycle and car
A bike or a scooter can easily handle 20 30km trips while still being compact and giving 100mpg
Can someone please help me get oppressor
Le funny Goodyear blimp
Nice karin dilettante u got there bro

is it true that BMW is adding a heated seat subscription service in the UK?
What? So they build their cars with a feature that heats the seats, but you can’t use it even though you bought the car? Ridiculous
Thing is, they’re already getting hacked
And... can you really blame people?
And to answer your question, the paywall I believe is only in UK, SA, Germant and NZ atm

Yeah nerf battery for no reason
Just stick to your 4-seater Salty, it gets the job done
Your car would already have the hardware installed
But the ability to even use it is locked behind a subscription
$18/month
Very
Apparently Toyota thought about a monthly subscription to even start the car
Which is even more bullshit
If they’re so greedy, just make it an extra option you need to add, or part of their "premium" package or whatever
Please no, Toyota is love
An unusual drift car
I dont like that radar panel on the grille
On lesser benzes they can hide it cleverly in the badge
Audi has finally let us in on its big secret regarding the 2014 R8. Audi had to tread very carefully with the redesign of the R8, as to not disturb the water too much and scare away the easily spooked sports car lovers. Many auto manufacturers have made the mistake of fully revamping a lineup, only to have traditionalists hate it.

never understood why rich people off-road their lambo's
probably the worst car you could use for that
urus?
This uhh thing

when you accidentally choose lambo and its a dirt race in forza
Nice
Cheetah as well
although I would much rather have an lm002
Aah isn't cheetah the rear engine one
idk but there are a lot of different Lamborghini suvs
Not the brightest idea out of sant agata
that looks mid engine now that you mention it
lm001
lma002
The Sultan has an elongated lm002
because of course he fucking does
Lm002 is known ive seen videos of it
Not the sultans ofc
but I completely expected it and wasn't shocked because it looks like something he would have
the lm002 wasn't really known either until recently, Doug Demuro kinda helped it
all those years back
the lm002 is popular compared to the black and white photos because those never really ever made production
the lm002 was the only one to sell

THIS MF

I love the 2 color tones to it

how much is an s15 anyone know
MM
the price updated this year
14,000 - 18,000
inflating hit hard
in exporting and import it would cost from another 2,000 to 80,000.
Arguable
All though you are right, inflation is hitting the car market hard
exporting a car is hard
Just think about getting an s15 with 300% tax (Turkey life simulator) and don't forget that the economy is shitty.
....
People that drive these crack me up. They think they look so cool
Tell me you have absolutely no taste without telling me you have no taste
they're cool in a weird way but im not entirely sure who they're marketed towards
they are marketed towards wankers and 65+ year old men
and they dont even make that much power either
They are fairly quick I think, 0-60 in ~5 seconds
but they just look so terrible imo
at that point i'd rather buy a Mx5 instead of a fucking slingshot
At least with an MX5 you could actually drive it in the rain
My daily now:
I hope you are the driver
Yea. It's real comfy up there.
i can relate
I had a phase in my childhood where I just all of a sudden fucking loved hearses. I must just liked them because they looked long and fancy.
But I would go on forums of hearse owners and I wanted one so bad
Lmao
It is really long and fancy. It's a Cadillac, lol.

Insurance just charged me my monthly premium for the car i dont have cause it was written off and they know this
would have been good to know i had to cancel it myself instead of the 4 people i talked to at Insurance Company
only the best plastic for the deceased
Put bags on it 🔥
I thought about that, lol. Do kinda wanna make it a Benny's car, sans the obnoxious livery. Plan is to gut the back and make it a cozy spot for going to the drive-in, concerts, conventions, yadda yadda.
any station wagon
...If you've seen any marketing material for the new GR86, you'll know Toyota promotes it as a car you can take to the track. The company even gives each new 86 buyer a free NASA membership and one free track day voucher with their purchase.
what
What? Isn't that what the car is built for?
It's a performance or sports car for a reason
Aah drifting takes a huge toll compared to tracking or powersliding even
All them clutch kicks and bouncing off the rev limiter isn't definitely healthy
Noice
I read that Peugeot will not come back in the US in 2026 after the supposed 2016 announcement. Is that right?
peugeot makes cars for the european market, which are small and efficient hatchbacks
those dominate the market position because of european infrastructure and fuel prices
the US, aside from some cities, has different infrastructure and fuel prices
the only european brands that can compete in the american market are mostly those that make SUVs and sedans, as the american market relies on inefficient vehicles
peugeot is aiming towards the american demographic once there is a change is automotive legislation
🤪
I had no idea Peugot was even in the US to begin with
It was first started back in 60s all the way to early 90s. Like I said, stupid import laws.
Was Peugeot literally ever in the US market to begin with?
You might be thinking of Mexico
even though i wont be tracking mine ill look into my warranty more
What u guys think about Land Rover 2006, worth buying as a first car?
Never
The old Land Rover Defender is good but I would still get a Toyota
What about a BMW 2016 418 gran coupe
do you have the money to fix it
A German car outside of warranty can be a big investment money pit
Doesn't it apply to luxury car brands in general?
@vagrant bison Land Rover and Bmw should be the last on your list along with Maserati.
You don't wanna spend a million bucks on maintenance for your first car
Car has a 100/500 tax rate in my country . So it’s annoying by itself
Anyways what would u suggest
If you aren't enthusiastic about vehicles, I would find the cheapest Volvo, Toyota, or Honda probably from say 1995-2005 is where they'll be a good price. Get one that is structurally sound and has everything running fine, but is dirty and looks like shit. As long as the drivtrain engine and structural integrity of the car is solid all you would have to do is polish the headlights wash and detail the car.
Maybe put new rims even if they are newer oems they don't have to be aftermarket
If you are more along the lines of wanting something cool even if it has comprises, like safety, or practicality, then you could find a wacky car, I would say a Honda s2000 but I bet the price is through the roof for those now
There is also the is300 2001-2005
That is a reliable car that doesn't look too basic
Yet Bmw is like the most popular car here... if you take proper care of your car, you dont need to spend a ton on maintenance. My dad has had multiple BMW's, dont recall him complaining about them costing a fortune to repair or some bs like that
Multiple BMWs, wow...
Even buying 1 BMW would already cost a lot more than an arm and leg...
I guess
This was a lot more of a thing back then. For example back in the 70's and 80's bmw's weren't even really thought of when thinking of a car to buy at least here in America. When an American thought of a car they went to a Corvette or a Cadillac or a Buick etc
Bmw's and Mercedes were more for old exotic rich people
Because it was a bigger deal to have a Mercedes or bmw that long ago
Now Mercedes and Bmw are still luxurious cars but they are popularized, if you have the money you could just walk in a dealer 20 minutes away and by a Mercedes
It isn't a large process and import anymore
Bmw and Mercedes were kept mainly in Europe
Older BMWs ('80s/'90s) weren't plagued by electronic gremlins like newer ones are
Technology is a blessing and a curse
Yea the abundance of tech makes the car look cool when it is new and under a warranty but it's not fun to have to replace $1000 windshield wiper stalks because they "have ai that senses when rain droplets hit the windshield" or some shit like that
How did Mitsubishi go from inventing AYC to manufacturing some of the dullest vehicles in automotive history
They aren't expensive
You don't have to be old or rich
They are a lot to maintain
That's about it
They aren't super expensive, but dropping 100k on a car wouldn't be a wise choice at this stage in life
Those aren't 100k... fr?!
This is like every goo ingredient making a great dish
90s bmw, v12 manual, pop up headlights....
I used to have a mattel toy of this, in a purple..
I still remember loosing it in a curb nearby and searching it years after
reliable?
I got an idea, how about 2000s-2020 Ford Explorer as first or beater car?
Lada niva best first car
For me, I want to try Ford Focus
Ehem, BMW...
eh
try fiesta
those are made in germany and are relatively reliable
especially for fords
What's their engine?
What I know is finding a Focus would not be easy since they're discontinued here
But I'll check Fiesta out
same as focus
Nice! I'm not sure if they exist in Ph market though
Would be a good choice
Oh, Ford Fiesta is also phased out in Ph
Fuck cars
Help me transport bunker
You now have to pay subscription to get heated seats?
WTF
Yeah
$18/month
Absolute bullshit tbh
But I live in a region where heated seats are useless

I agree, it is bullshit because why do we need to pay extra money to use an equipment we already own? These paywall abuses are getting out of hand.
What if the customers just hack into the seats to use heated seats for free whenever they want to?
what if i hacked into your tesla and blew it up
I don't know, I don't have a Tesla though
Why would a Tesla have a self-destruction button anyway
This is a serious issue actually with self driving any car could be a weapon in the future
Probably not as big of a problem as you think
in case a poor person sits inside

Hii
bimmer watch diz. I time staped last min in the link

she living my dream

have to cop with the simulator insteadof doing it irl

Travelling 2 decades in an indian train i never really liked trains
They're cool but cars>>

could i rather own a porsche or drive a locomotive for 1km.....u know what me is doin

that pic is a US loco
the good thing u know about US locos.......they are still 100% invested in diesel locos for their freight..

and imo there diesel locos are way better designed and ovr better ride experience than the british and indian diesels.........india got the bad design from british
and never really changed it in their diesels
inda has now abondoned diesel locos
all electric lines

british had this concept of long hood which then passed on to indian railways
this is the loco engineer point of view
later som US locos also took the long good element
long hood looks secy but nightmare to pilot..... this is all u see....basically trust in the horn and move
me trying to explain bimmer how i like twains

@final robin
@gray linden may I recommend coming to Australia and driving a mining train
They pay you $400-500k a year because no one wants to do it lel
Diesel-electric afaik

Way out in the Pilbara region in the north of Western Australia, BHP operate a network of iron ore mines, processing facilities, and port facilities. A rail network with over 1000 kilometres (600 miles) of track connects these facilities around the town of Newman with the ports at Port Hedland.
These train are not quite the longest in the world...
naice thats a us loco btw 😄
We use that style too
@gray linden
The Evolution Series is a line of diesel locomotives built by GE Transportation Systems (now owned by Wabtec), initially designed to meet the U.S. EPA's Tier 2 locomotive emissions standards that took effect in 2005. The first pre-production units were built in 2003. Evolution Series locomotives are equipped with either AC or DC traction motors,...

@gray linden both the longest passenger and cargo trains are Australian
The Ghan is the longest passenger, and BHP once did a record breaking 7.3km 682 car train that hauled 82,000 tons metric of ore, powred by 8 locomotives for a combined weight just under 100,000 tons metric (99,734 tons metric)
The Ghan is an experiential tourism oriented passenger train service that operates between the northern and southern coasts of Australia, through the cities of Adelaide, Alice Springs and Darwin on the Adelaide–Darwin rail corridor. Operated by Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions, its scheduled travelling time, including extended stops for passenger...
pls dig
its a nightmare to pilot a 2km twain let alone 7kms
literally takes 15 mins to fully relase the brakes in the brake pipes throughout 2kms
so you always want not to use the train brakes
independent or dynamic brakes for the win
also u never want to come to a stop cause of wheelslips nightmare during start
and you cant go fast cause high risk of derailment plus limited power
could be nice to see how it climbs some grades without stalling and wheelslip kekekekek
Whole run is basically flat

@slim iron scroll a bit down to see the launch

Don't forget audio ofc, best part of live watching them
too good
I can see why you like doing those rally builds so much

When we were moving back to Canada, we knew we'd need a car, but we couldn't afford one after the move. Thankfully, we found an electric bakfiets, and not only did it take the place of a car, it also saved us thousands of dollars in the process.

I'm still gonna half-jokingly make fun of Ford cars
Me driving one just makes those a little bit funnier now
Jokes aside I'm happy not to be driving a shitbox anymore
Side note:
No, there was no engine cover
This is what greets you when you open the hood
Or "bonnet" if you're from the upside down or whatever
I would wheelie that
Or jump it and fracture my other leg
Also I can see that popping a wheelie on a uphill if there isn't any weight infront

This is unironically the most car of the year.
Some guy is selling an old Nissan Pulsar near me
Buy it and ram it into his house
Noo its nice
Pop ups would be kind of hot
i like trains
I’m buying the old Nissan Pulsar now
Nice beater
How much?
No
I wanna throw a v8 in it
I need it

Only paying 3k total for it
You're actually buying it? 💀
Yeah and it’s in mint condition
I could probably resell it for 6k
I think it’s a pretty cool car it’s something you don’t see anymore mainly because it’s a 30 year old car
Yea
And holy shit
My clapped out 04 silverado is worth 6k.
Oo granny car
Should be in nice condition
Yeah the body and interior were in really good condition
I also got this neat little disc as well
6k for a 30 year old crapbox
Yeah... car market is fucked
Not even the good pulsar
It’s been taken care of properly so it’s still a good steal on my part
Idk man. Used car bubble kinda popped already. If you want to flip it, do it soon.
Nah I’d still say the bubble is really bad
Not really. Sellers just haven't realized it yet
At least for Japanese cars, used Civics are the price of brand new ones
I’m mainly just focusing on enjoying the car for now and seeing what I want to do with it later
It’ll be a fun little t top for now
And here she is
I thought it was a pink
That was an old photo taken in the early morning
There is a guy in my neighborhood with a Grand National sitting in his side yard covered with about a foot of dust
I should really ask him about it
Say hello to the 911 Sally Special, inspired by Sally Carrera, the beloved 2002 Porsche 911 from @Pixar's movie Cars. Only one has been created. It will be auctioned by @rmsothebys on Aug 20 in Monterey, CA to support @girls_inc & @UNRefugeeAgency. Visit: https://t.co/WvagnehPR2

do it shit
So its blue
Wow😐
Sure some rich asshole will buy it for maybe 5 times the price and the auction money will go for a good cause
Dont resell
Keep it as a daily for a few years
You will probably be able to sell it for more latet
*later
Mclaren spotted
Nice
Oh boy,another fucking 911 trim
As if we didn't have enough of those
this looks nice though!
Sex spec
Basically turbo with manual
but is rwd
Even better
eh, 911s tend to oversteer a lot
I mean it's definitely more fun for some drivers, but in the end you're paying more for less
😾 I believe base 911s are cool too
If i had the money id rather buy a well speced carrera s rwd
e39 540i a dream car fr

The coupe looks 20x better than the suv sedan thing
crossover x sedan
I see they took the styling ques from the lc500
probably the platform and chassis as well
yeah looks like it's the same chassis
In UK vehicles that don’t meet emission standards have to pay £300/day wtf
I wish jeepneys here in Ph have to pay the same way for having high emissions.
Yeah cause it handmade
Meanwhile US
lung cancer is pretty bad in a lot of cases
AHHHHH
Wouldn't have it any other way
I mean come on let's be real. You never know when you're going to have to tear a house off it's foundation.
I need a Daihatsu Cope gtr body kit in my life
Aww, what a cute baby GT-R
Passenger door on the pulsar is a little loose
femboy hands
£300 a day is too mad
just got a bunch of sound insulation for my car, doors or firewall first?
I know what's wrong with it
aint got no gas in it
Door panels, namely in/around the speaker cavity
Never seen someone add sound deadening to a firewall
seen it before, reduces engine noises maybe, I'll do the doors first tho
Yessir
I do got gas
Engine swap (question mark)
I was thinking about it
Bc if you ask me, a nice ls1 would sound great in that
I don’t think I’d put that big of an engine in it
I was probably going to stay in the 4 cylinder range like putting a B series or a 4AGE it in
K series would be up for consideration I just have to do enough research and figure out engine and engine bay dimensions and all that jazz
See what fits
Half the drivetrain components would have to be replaced as well
Yea
Pretty sure an LS1 would break half the stock components in that car pretty quickly
Because of the torque
Which is one way to encourage one to upgrade, I suppose
Not to mention I’d ruin the handling of the car basically
I’d probably make the car slower if anything with that much weight
Cause the car stock is around 2500lbs
Depends on how much weaker the stock motor is compared to the LS
My stock motor makes 90 hp
Yeah, the LS would definitely make the car faster
Even the weaker LS motors push 200+
I’d preferably keep it a Japanese engine personally
It's FWD
If you want to swap it do a CA18DET
They came with a CA (iirc) so should be an easy swap
I was thinking of that as well
You could probably do an SR pretty easily too
My top choices were either a B series either a B16 or a B18, a 4AGE or a CA18
Mainly because I found a much of engines with transmissions for sub 4K
Honda swap would be pretty neat
And hell putting any engine above like 170hp will turn it into a fucking rocket
cough cough ls1
Its definetelly that
But actually
I think that it needs a wash
That will fix it
Probably the alternator
yes, but no regular car consumes so much gas that it would fall under such criteria
So will a dodge Viper or a Lamborghini Huracan fall under this robbery?
Or is it only for really bad shit like roal coal trucks and dumb shit like that
If people are going to make supercars bland and boring before making the bland and boring gas cars into bland and boring electric cars, then people have horrible priorities.
I'm tired of people getting mad at Bugattis for have a 16 cylinder engine... there are fucking 500 chirons and 500 Veyrons on the entire planet and maybe 100 extra special editions.
These cars are used maybe once a month on average at most.
Compared to tens of millions of vehicles that spew shit into the air onna daily basis whenbthey could be the ones becoming electric
Not Bugattis that don't do anything
tbh I can't find anything about those 300 pounds
it's not just those extremely rare cars being taxed
Oh ok good
but also performance models
AMG for instance
in the US, most normal gas guzzling SUVs have similar mileage as those performance models
in europe it's different
Pagani Ferrari Lamborghini Porsche Bugatti I wanna see these companies make gas stuff for track use even until 2050
porsche will do fine
ferrari is a strong brand
lambo is really late with hybrid tech and pagani and bugatti will probably stop existing
Lamborghini's rely on the soul of their engines.
Don't even utter that horrible universe
porsche has amazing hybrid tech they developed from le mans, and they share a lot of tech with audi as well because vw group
I mean it's true
neither pagani's or bugatti's see track use, as these cars are frankly horrible to drive
but it's the luxury, styling and engine that draws people
I want to be born in 1990, so I could have ten more years. My life ends when these cars do I genuinely don't have another purpose
Paganis aren't luxury they are track cars Bugattis are the fat pig
Paganis are amazing
I mean the US is reluctant to change, so there'll be some car culture there
They weigh less than 3000 pounds bugattis are 4300
a lot of drivers (including hamilton) have complained about the cars' behaviour
they don't drive awful
but they're not fit for tracks
but pagani and bugatti make art, not racing cars
so it's fine
He's whiney and drove his no more than 30 miles, so I'd wanna see more people say the same to get a better conclusion of reality
a turbo s or gt3 rs would smoke most bugatti's, koenigseggs, pagani's etc, simply because it has more racing tech behind it
porsche is an absolute monster in racing and translates that into their cars
They and small and nimble compared to the top speed hypercars
none of the aforementioned brands have racing heritage, aside from pre-war bugatti, so it's difficult for them to develop platforms, chasses, and engines that offer amazing track performance
exactly, those are made with something different in mind
Porsche is a motorsports menace
I love when people are like "whejjenw they all looks the same 911 look same as old one"
your point?
Exactly
I mean it's the entire point
the 911 is porsche
not per se in sales, but in image and spirit
I find it hard to keep up with each and every 911 model
and special edition
like the sally one the other day
tbh the only ones you should care for are the gts and turbo
Because the generation numbers seem to be randomly selected from a lottery machine they have no order whatsoever
personally don't like the gt3s
964 997 992 991 who tf makes this sequence it is so shitty
Just call it something simple gen numbers are supposed to make it easier not harder
It's like the equivalent oh new iphones being called the iphone B then the next one is iphone P and the next one iphone H3
These names have no correlation
So no meaning
it's not even that
you also had the 996
for some reason they jumped from 997 to 991
But wtf do these numbers even mean if they aren't in any feasible order
I think it's similar to dev notes
it's mostly arbitrary
version 2.01.3
porsche does use 997.1 and 2
so there is some logic between facelifts
If I don't look at a sheet of the gen names in order my head starts exploding
omg I looked it up
it makes sense sort of
not anymore
but it originally was for the (intended) year of introduction
If that's the case then the 996 and 997 were made a year apart?
yeah since those generations they no longer gave a fuck
because they were entering the 2000s
Hmm
Porsche kinda quirky tho
Next gen will just be called "Marvin"
Because idk go buy it

the 999
Juice wrld car
