So i just ran into the weirdest issue i ever had with GTA online

So basically i logged in played a bit and was on my to cayo perico to gather intel when all of a sudden the audio stopped working i thought my external audio card broke or smth so i closed the game mid flight and well see there audio was back..... ok

Went back to log in.....
rockstar launcher told me email could not be found or password is incorrect im like ummmmm....

Went to the website same thing i began to worry as looking through the internet people were talking about potentially being hacked or what not i tried and tried and said ok you know what i will just reset my password and now its working again thank god

I just wanted to know what might be the cause for that to happen did the rockstar server just glitch out or something bec i checked the email and password like 500 times to be sure i entered it correctly yet it kept on telling me that

hmmm so i just found a comment in the steam discussions where someone made a thread about running into this problem in 2017 and one of the comments was edited this year stating that controlled folder access setting in windows set to ON commonly also causes this error or glitch to happen

he also states to just allow gta 5 r* launcher and socialclubhelper if you want it to stay on

For some reason gta 5 has this issue where even if I'm not going too fast, chunks load terribly, the textures don't even load for a bit and it's just unbearable

And I know itz not my cpu I've seen it tested on my exact cpu

And things just take a while to load in

It's terrible, I've tried putting the game at lowest possible settings too

No shadows 0.5 resolution scaling

hardware wise you're setup on 'normal' settings. software wise sometimes you may have skipped something. I'd recommend further troubleshooting on yt and reddit and maybe you'll find your solution. If not, come back with what you have found.

Seems tricky, be sure to check your panel if ur using nvidia so far as hardware wise. This may just be a problem with code or sum software glitching your storymode or whatever

Try checking how much percentage vram and allat

I just had a weapon sell mission not complete when i got to the end objective. Tried detaching and reattaching trailer, driving away and coming back, as well as killing cops in the area. Nothing worked. switched sessions to salvage some of the stock. Was a relatively small sale, but still annoying, especially cause it was a full lobby and would have secured the bonus. For anyone still wondering and for future issues like mine, I figured it out. My problem was that my “jobs” section was closed, and I couldn’t join or start a job. The button was grey and I couldn’t press it. The reason for it is pretty simple. When first joining the game, I chose to go through the tutorial, and it doesn’t let you get the free bundle, or the jobs thing. So to fix it, you need to continue with he tutorial, and go to the shooting mission, after which it will open for you. And to get the free bundle stuff you just need to reach lvl 5.

the reason cross-play doesn't exist is because ps5 and Xbox Series have exclusive content and the way they updated the engine wouldn't allow the game to work smoothly like that and migrating to PC with all the mess that it is in which they realized back in 2014 it was horrible with the modders but now it's a bit better so maybe in gta6 when the anti cheat is in place from the start they will start going easier on the cross play and migration but I still wouldn't get my hopes high

Atleast the exclusive content on ps5 and Xbox Series is coming to PC

I'm still surprised that the last gen consoles are still getting updates they're running at a max 22fps currently 💀

Well, even the non-enhanced versions should be cross-play. I understand lower or higher versions of GTA, but I'm not the programmer. They aren't the only company out there making you buy a separate copy of their game for every platform, then not allowing you to use/migrate your accounts, or there is technical issues doing so.

It's not about want to, but time yes. In the past 7 years I guess I've played like 16d. There's no way I'm going to easily start a new account and get back there with my life rn. So, what's the point.

It's like Minecraft. I have had to buy it like 5 times. One time, the CD I had missed an update and they banned me from loading it. Others, just need for multiple accounts. Can't even get logged into my profile on some machines. Plus, all of the worlds I've created and countless hours, not synced without Realms. Can't download, transfer, or migrate worlds between accounts/consoles/platforms, and it's just disheartening. Even their Bedrock Server won't bind to IP for external use, but Java will. All so they can keep you on subs to keep you cherished worlds. It's just wild. Nobody has any real support besides spend more money.

At least, Rockstar could be upfront about the incapability on MacOS, but nope. They're dicking me around for weeks now.

If the PIN or password of your windows user can be cracked in 10 minutes and your security questions are stored in plaintext and you can bypass TPM 2.0 and secure boot there's literally nothing left

My GTA 5 fps have dropped today idk why, I have updated drivers, windows and checked for virus. I also started it from rockstar game launcher rather then steam, Launched it on admin mode, disabled full screen optimisation, contacted rockstar games launcher support, but still problem isnt resolved. The fps were above 60 yersterday, with youtube streaming side by side, tried restarting the pc, changed the values from notepad that support services told me, no corrupt ssd checked it too, no v sync on checked with both on and off, checked reddit youtube for support, but now its not going above from 15. My bottleneck of pc is 2.5%. I also have tried repairing the files but they were all fine. The game is continuosly sttutering, GPU Usage goes upto 100%, tried limiting it with nvidia control panel (max fps 150, background fps 60 on game and game launcher )still doesnot work. It would be much appreciated if someone helps. any advice would be appreciable 🙂 .

I keep getting this weird micro stutter pretty much the entire time i am playing the game. I have v-sync off and the game is capped at 144 fps. The GPU drivers are up to date too. Anyone has had this same issue before? Any possible solutions?

I am onn r7 5700x3d, 32 gb's of RAM, 3070 Ti and the game is on an m.2 SSD, so i am quite doubtful this is a hardware related issue.

I am facing lag spikes while playing GTA V. My fps shutters after every 10-15 mins. Mostly these shutters happen when I use Game map , save my game or during screen change like cut scenes. So first check your email or the site you bought the key from for a activation or confirmation link, then try linking it in the Launcher if not linked with steam yet. Then open the Launcher go to settings and look for the option to link or change linked account, you may need to relink.

Finally verify your gamefiles. Open Steam, go to the Library, right click on GTA V and select Properties, go to Local Files and select Verify Integrity of Game Files and run as administrator.

Let me know if it's not working.

Have you tried launching the game as Administrator? This sometimes solves permission issues other than that and given you are located in Russia you may need a VPN to go around restriction policies

I've had this error 3 times before (Steam), let me help,

1. Rockstar support won't help
2. Try continuously to verify game files until it works (that's what I did), it's a lucky packet really.
3. If you just got this activation issue out of the blue(You didn't touch game files or install mods, just randomly one day you got activation issue) then online fixes/won't help, I've tried all.

I got this in June and it made me so frustrated that I just deleted the game and rage-emailed the support team for being so useless (Ik it's not right), but know I'm thinking of trying it out again for December.

Sorry for the late response, so what you can do is logging in with your Steam username rather than the email you had used for it. This will work if the username and password are existing and matching.

Every time I get in gta online I loose all my rifle bullets

I've bought gta5 on the rockstar launcher but I also bought a steam deck since I travel a lot.
Is there any way to have gta5 on my steam deck without having to pay 30 bucks for gta5 on the steam store ?

Don't bother since the steam deck can't even play online
