You can go back to LS, call Pavel, and cancel the heist, and then repeat the gather intel mission as many times as you want within that 48 min window if you wish to use different primary/secondary targets. Unfortunately, less experienced/knowledgeable/prepared players might not be able to do gather intel fast enough to switch your targets multiple times.

No, you still have to do preps, can't use pv's for mission vehicles unless its a very specific getaway vehicle, or in some cases its a special vehicle

No you have to steal the longfin each time it’s specifically one used by smugglers that are allowed on the island, you can’t just buy one and have it work that way

To put it in game terms it’s because that’s how the preps are set up but for a real logical reason it would be because they check the plates or VIN on the boat coming in to prevent people from just driving a random longfin to the island

Right now it’s acid, coke and meth, if you want to stock up a lot, special cargo also gives a good bit for giving the warehouse guys like 7k per special crate, nightclub is best for passive income as well. It’s #1 I think

If you truly want to make money legitimately though, do all of those, like pay for supplies, wait until they’re full stock and in the meanwhile while they’re filling up do cayo, then clucking bell raid/knowayout missions while cayo is getting ready again (2 hrs 24 if you solo it) for hard mode, like 100k more $. If your business fill up, you could ask your friends to help you for like 1 mil more in about 15ish min.
