on any subsequent playthroughs it does not tell you to do this

I always sell full bunkers solo, but only from Chumash or Farmhouse and only with the Phantom Wedges, Insurgents with 3 destinations or Marshalls if the destinations are not on the other side of the map. You lose only 3% of stock if you start a new session to decline a delivery vehicle.

the buzzard does not fire that quickly. it has a 4 second cooldown after every 2 shots. Firing 8 missiles takes about 20 seconds.

you may have meant the sparrow as that can fire continuously.
