it is good idea if you know you have stable & fast internet connectivity and could provide such for other players (your friends) while playing.
that's the info i was missing. you CAN do it and some users have UPnP enabled on their routers (insecure, but their router gets autoconfigured), or have public IP straight up their computer (even worse) and provide such connectivity for other players. Since this is provided by VERY small ammount of people compared to non-providing players, no wonder joining and loading takes AGES.
