no you cannot usually keep them, it's only for missions, you can either sell them, which pays around 300-400k or you can salvage them which will also pay you almost the same, and it will also give you safe income.

If a car is not claimable, always sell it. If it's claimable, claim the vehicle and keep it for yourself since it's usually worth a lot more than 300-400k.
