Yeah but RDO had so much potential, like imagine GTA level heists but as cowboys. Instead we got fucking naturalism and collecting. The most fun things that were added to the game were the bounty hunting and the moonshining, but that was about it. Even the "story" missions in RDO usually required a full team of four players so there's a good chance you won't even be able to do them unless you're with three friends. It also takes fucking forever to unlock any of the fun shit because you need gold which you can either buy with real money or grind for hours per gold bar.

TLDR: RDO could have been so good but Rockstar prioritized GTAO because it was already making them money.

That doesn't mean you can't do cool shit. I see people make this argument a lot and it doesn't make any sense to me. Think of all the western movies that have crazy action sequences. Imagine a mini-storyline where you have to protect a town from invaders (basically just the story of The Magnificent 7) where you do a series of smaller missions going out and getting specific supplies to prepare, and then the final mission is defending the town against a massive onslaught of enemies with gatling guns and shit, and then you're rewarded with like 50 grand or something. (which is a LOT of money in that game.) Or have another bunch of missions where you rob an armored train, where you go and get all the shit you need in mini-missions and then you do the big heist at the end. The time period is irrelevant if you actually put some thought into it but it just seems like Rockstar had no interest in doing that because GTA online was already a massive piggybank for them.

If the loaded save file is at 19:00, the time will stay frozen at 19:00
