i find the "lives" system to be a bit dated and mundane now. i mean even if we fail it just restarts us at a checkpoint anyways. xD just remove lives and let us die as much as we want until we slog thru it eventually. half the time the reason people back out is cuz we die and have to "restart" and wait for a loading screen when it could just let us die infinitely. or at least make it so that if EVERYONE is dead at the same time it fails instead
