Thanks for your reply. I've been using Probot for over a year, love the app, had no issues. But tonight it doesnt seem to be pulling through the updates I am making from the embeded message area. I am editing an already existing message. Usually it would update my Discord server very quickly but tonight it hasnt for a few hours now.

It has updated the emoji for the 'self-assigned roles' (again I have editted an already existing 'assignable role' message. It just doesnt seem to be talking to my server.

These are with already existing messahes on my server from Probot, never had an issue before updating/ editting, hence why I wondered if you were having any known issues your side as I've gone through this process dozens of times and no issues.

Interesting... I have located it to: It's basically not finding all of the places where that message is. It's finding it in an old channel, but the channel I have been using it in for over the last year isn't being displayed in the drop down now (choose a message). I have logged out, updated Firefox, even tried Microsoft Edge!!! And still not displaying all messages on my server in the drop down. As I said, had no issue in the past with this and updated it regulary nearly every month (editing an already existing embeded message).

👋🏻 It looks like the bot doesn't have this message saved in its database anymore or no longer has access to this channel.

Check if it has permissions to view your channel and read the message history, maybe you accidentally made changes to the permissions (if it has admin permissions, it has access to all channels and messages, so you can skip this part).

If all the permissions are correct, try editing the channel name, description or position in the list. This will cause the bot to re-sync all channels.

After checking both of these things, try editing the embed message again. If you still can't edit it, it means that the bot for some reason have no longer that message saved in its database or can't find it. And in this case I would like to apologize that there was such a problem, and unfortunately you have to send this message again instead of editing

Thank you Black, none of those helped. My video shows that there does seem to be an issue from your end, as when I go to 'choose a message' the message I want to edit does appear in the drop down for a split second, then disapears and is then showing the old message from May (per my screen shot above). So yes looks like there is some data corruption your side as not sure why it would have stopped working. Its certainly odd, as another message I created in May, that is appearing, edditing and updating fine in the exact same channel, but the message I want to update isn't appearing in the 'choose a message' to edit sent message.

Will this lose all previous reaction counts from the associated 'self-assignable roles' from the old message (that I cant edit now). I though that was it, but... uhhh...

The second case was some dude who left with one account, joined again to check something, and left again.

At that point he was already muted.

As far as I know it only happened 2 times on the server. But I wouldn't be surprised if it happened more times.

I'll try and track those muted, give me a minute.

The bot is in the server since May, 2021, the first mute I know of was June 28, 2023. Second mute August 3, 2023.

If there was any record other than the mute itself, I would tell ya.

1. What is the command to remove a role as I can't find it?
2. It only lets me give users a role higher than the bots but then when it says it gives them one of those roles it doesn't actually give them the role, I want it to be able to give roles to people lower than it, not higher and I want it to actually give the roles instead of saying it has and not giving it

Is there a way to limit how many "levels" a user gets? My hope was to use this bot to have members hit a certain engagement level threshold, and be rewarded with a single role that opens up new channels in the server. The role is being successfully awarded, but even after that, members are still getting new levels accordingly and being pinged each time. :/

hi hi, for text, every 2-5 minutes(?) while sending messages will give you an amount of xp from 10 to 40 each time. Which mean after sending a message and gain xp, you will have a cooldown of about 2 minutes, regardless of how many message you sent, it will only count xp after that cooldown and continue
For voice, about every 2-5 minutes with the xp amount of 10. This is a fixed amount but may be changed while working since I just calculated this pretty long ago. You can just sitting in a voice channel, regardless your voice states, xp will still count after cooldown. But to get reward roles bound to the voice levels, you will need to gain some text xp to trigger bot to update level roles

Leveling System Configuration

1 - Go to the dashboard (https://probot.io/dashboard) and log in.
2 - Next, go to the Leveling System module and click on Add Role Reward
3 - Finally, configure it as desired by adding the required text and voice levels.

Keep in mind: You can add NO-XP-ROLES and NO-XP-CHANNELS to prevent that role and channel from gaining xp. Furthermore, if you have both text and voice set up, the user will need to reach both in order to receive the role reward role.

Self Roles

Having an odd issue.
All self roles made in older servers don't display names, cant modify, shows no roles and no embed attached, but still work. (Can't modify)
(Note:) refreshing screen, exit and re-enter did nothing.

Can't add a new self role group without saving... Not sure what happens if you click save ?

New servers have names and are normal.

Probot has been at the top of the server for 3 years, with full permissions including admin.

All my servers are that way. 👆

I guess it just something messed up with displaying those informations from the database. Try to set it up again (assign embeds and roles to the reaction for each self-roles). Also save button works only for this self-roles that you actually editing

That's was I was thinking. But I was also thinking this can't be just me with the issue. I will try a few things on a server that has less selections, then give results. Sharing is caring.

Okay got the results.

Each Self Role section has no name, so it's hard to say what is what.
Opening the edit..
Nothing is displayed.
But, if you go through the process of selecting embed, then message.
Then roles and emojis automatically populate.
Then save. Automatically saves embed name.

Okay, well put this in a book somewhere.
Maybe it will help someone else.

I did not have to rebuild anything at all.
Just select the embed and message, save.

Console linking to older embeds seems to be an issue. But an easy fix.

Hey 👋 For text, every 2-5 minutes while you sending messages, the bot gives you a random amount of xp from 10 to 40 each time. This means that you gain some xp after sending a message and have a cooldown of about 2 minutes, regardless of how many messages you sent.
For voice, it's similar, but the difference is that the amount of xp is about 10.

hi hi, for text, every 2-5 minutes(?) while sending messages will give you an amount of xp from 10 to 40 each time. For voice, about every 2-5 minutes with the xp amount of 10. This is a fixed amount but may be changed while working since I just calculated this pretty long ago. You can just sitting in a voice channel, regardless your voice states, xp will still count after cooldown. But to get reward roles bound to the voice levels, you will need to gain some text xp to trigger bot to update level roles

Leveling System Configuration

1 - Go to the dashboard (https://probot.io/dashboard) and log in.
2 - Next, go to the Leveling System module and click on Add Role Reward
3 - Finally, configure it as desired by adding the required text and voice levels.

Keep in mind: You can add NO-XP-ROLES and NO-XP-CHANNELS to prevent that role and channel from gaining xp. Furthermore, if you have both text and voice set up, the user will need to reach both in order to receive the role reward role.

Hello, I have a question. Is it possible to use probot in order to retain logs of deleted messages? How about edited messages? I think this would be useful in case someone sends something they shouldn't deletes or edit and then claim they did not, one would have proof of it.
