I’ve been using ProBot for a while and it’s a very useful bot for Discord servers. The moderation and logging features are solid, but there are a few things that could make ProBot even better.
What’s good:
Stable and reliable moderation
Good logging system
Easy-to-use dashboard
Useful auto-moderation features
Suggestions for improvement:
More free features (some core options are locked behind premium)
Better custom welcome messages (more design & variables)
Improve anti-raid and anti-spam accuracy
Faster dashboard loading on mobile
More custom commands options without limits
Add Kurdish language support (Sorani & Kurmanji would be amazing)
Better music system or integration with other music bots
More clear error messages when something fails
Overall, ProBot is a great bot, but these improvements would make it one of the best Discord bots out there.

ProBot was known as a free bot that many of us depended on, but recently it feels like more and more commands are slowly being locked behind payments. This makes users feel pressured, as features we used normally are no longer accessible unless we pay.

Turning core or commonly used commands into paid features step by step is honestly upsetting, especially for long-time users who chose ProBot because it was reliable and free. It feels like the free experience is being taken away gradually.

I’m writing to share honest feedback - not to attack anyone, and not to exaggerate the importance of the bot. At the end of the day, it’s just a bot, and communities always have alternatives. No one will beg for basic features.

ProBot was known as a reliable free bot that many servers depended on. Recently, more commands have been locked behind subscriptions, and features that were once standard are now premium-only. Monetization is understandable, but restricting core commands makes the free experience feel reduced.

Over the past two years, the bot has gone offline multiple times , sometimes several times in one day. There have been repeated outages, maintenance periods, broken commands, XP resets, currency resets, and profile level resets affecting many users. Communities lost progress they worked on for months.

With these issues still happening, limiting XP to Prime users and locking most commands behind subscriptions gives the impression that revenue is being prioritized over stability.

Between 2017 and 2022, the bot was stable and respected without these recurring problems. Now, it feels less dependable and no longer among the top choices for many servers.

Users are not tied to one bot. Discord offers many alternatives. If a bot becomes unstable or overly restricted, communities will simply move elsewhere.

If long-term success is the goal, the focus should be on stronger infrastructure, qualified developers, preventing repeated technical failures, and better oversight of in-bot systems like currency and XP. Transparency and accountability matter.

This is straightforward feedback. Improve the service and rebuild trust , or communities will choose better options.

The leveling system was one of the main reasons to use ProBot, and now there are not enough standout features to justify using it over other free bots.

Our Community team would like to express the regret for choosing & using Probot. When our community owners first found out about Probot, we sincerely loved Probot for its amazing features. It felt complete to use probot that we don't have to add multiple bots at once and flood our community with bots. But now, in a matter of time, that i see, Probot is slowly shifting all its features premium standards which is causing the dissatisfaction in multiple users using the bots in their designated servers. Thus we feel that as a free user, we are losing our prior experience and happiness to the bot functions & operations itself.

We understand that handling a bot can have financial struggles, thus, our decision is now to move bots and we will be moving within 2 to 3 weeks time. While we wish probot all the best, We as a community team using Probot in our server, wish that this was not the method Probot used to handle present struggles.

This method has caused a lot of downgrades and complications in many servers. We as a community have a lot of rewiring and re-working to do in our server such as implementing, understanding and learning new bots. This takes high amount of effort after learning one bot solely. This has not just cause a halt in present operations of multiple servers, but also increased the headache and double work of multiple servers.

Once again, we as admins of our own community server would like to thank Probot for all its services up till today.

I would like to share detailed feedback about ProBot and my experience using it on Discord. Overall, ProBot is one of the most powerful and useful bots available. It provides many important features that help servers stay organized, active, and professional. The moderation system is very strong and helps admins control spam, bad behavior, and unwanted content. This makes the server safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
One of the best features is the leveling system. It motivates members to stay active, chat more, and participate in the community. The ranking system creates competition and makes the server more fun. The welcome and goodbye messages are also excellent because they make new members feel noticed and welcomed when they join.
The dashboard is clean and easy to use. It allows admins to configure settings without confusion. This saves time and makes server management easier. The music system is also good, and it helps users enjoy listening together. Additionally, the auto-moderation feature is very helpful because it automatically prevents spam and protects the server.

Probot was a fine, if a little inconsistant, discord bot. My server used it for moderation and levels, but I think the level changes is a step too far. Locking pretty much the main feature of probot behind a paywall, and not allowing users to extract data, reflects badly on the developers. It shows their overall goal is not to make a useful and consistent discord bot, its monetization. I feel this will only have negative results.

I want to tell you that it's illogical to charge for orders like this. The company's stock is declining, and people are starting to stop using Probot. This doesn't mean you should charge for silly commands like #id or others. You could have charged for AI-powered features, for example, or other things that would improve the user experience. Your recent decisions are frankly a failure, and the Probot management team is incapable of completing this project, which has lasted for years. All reviews indicate this. My advice: shut down Probot and find something else you can do. Managing a bot is too big and difficult for you. Your continued existence is only pathetic to some people who support you with a few dollars that are no longer enough to buy decent hosting.

We never said that ProBot has to be 100% free, but like server leaderboards are basically the only thing users are using ProBot for, and the fact that the administration locked all access to old data is even more concerning, and basically most of the promotion systems across the platform are broken because of this move! Not everyone is able to upgrade to premium, not everyone has the ability to pay, and the owner(s) has(ve) to know that this decision is going into breaking the bot and not finding a solution to keep it running. Why not thinking about other solutions like maybe adding music access via the premium subscription, or watch a video together, or games, or anything but these default and original features have to be and stay free till the end of the project. I know, this comment wont be read by the admins, but this is the bitter reality that they have to face !

Regarding the decision to convert the Levels feature to Premium:

From my perspective, all of this criticism is completely unwarranted. This is a decision made by the parent company based on the support team’s response, and there is nothing wrong with offering certain features as Premium especially if improvements will be made to the public bot, such as faster services and better overall performance.
It is not necessary for everything to remain free. At the very least, the company needs to generate revenue. ProBot is not just a bot that was randomly created; it is a long-standing project that has been developed and refined for over eight years.
I believe this decision is both logical and beneficial.

Also reaching out cause we’ve had the bot for almost 5 years but the leveling was what we use to see activity to reward the most active users with a special role. It’s one thing to add new features that are sub only but it feels icky to move free things to sub. Perhaps servers that had this before the changeover could get legacy status? 😭

Adding a basic feature like "leveling" behind a paywall is literally like forcing people to pay to breathe. This is the stupidest decision you've ever made; even the reaction to the update announcement is negative.

People have plenty of alternatives to this bot to avoid paying for such a stupid thing. The excuse that "it was necessary" is as stupid as the idea itself. There are thousands of other ways to make money, and with this move, you'll probably kill your business rather than sustain it. It's sad to see a good bot go to waste.

I understand this bot's need to make more money to be active. You are in a lot of servers and it makes a lot of sense

HOWEVER:
You can't just delete server data like that and expect it to go well. You are very obviously attempting to strongarm big servers that have relied on this bot to do their levels into paying by threatening to delete their data if they don't upgrade. I would really advise preserving the data for servers that don't want to commit to an upgrade right now but might in the future.

Regarding the decision to charge in order to utilize the leveling system:

I have had the bot for several, several years, and the main usage is for its leveling and logging system. If you were to move forward with pushing a main part of the bot that a majority of your user utilize behind a paywall, I, and many others as I've been able to see, will be switching to a different bot entirely.

In addition, instead of encouraging me to want to subscribe to the bot, it's achieving the opposite affect. Saying you'll delete user data if we don't pay is, while a common tactic with big businesses, immoral.

It's a dirty practice to do this. You know it, we know it - everyone knows it. Do better.

الحمدلله دائما وابدا البوت مع اخر التحديثات اصبح الاشتراك بنسبة 90% اجباري ، اكثر الاشياء المهمه اصبحت لازمها اشتراك وهي اساس السيرفرات صار عشان الواحد يستخدم ذي الاشياء لازم يشترك ، البوت اصحابه قاعدين يخربونه بشويش كلها كم مده وراح تصير الناس تستخدم بوتات اخرى وراح يستغنون عن بروبوت

Thankfully, but honestly with the latest updates the bot has become almost 90% subscription-based. Most of the important features now require a paid plan — and those features are basically the core of the servers. So if someone actually wants to use them, they’re forced to subscribe
The owners are slowly ruining the bot. Give it some time and people will start switching to other bots and eventually move on from ProBot altogether

The latest update is really bad for me. Probot was truly THE bot that allowed me to do so much, limiting the creation of automatic responses to a command. Imagine, it pushes you to switch to other bots, and even leveling up! I've already had to go to other bots for that. I'm really very disappointed, especially since I've been singing the praises of this bot despite the numerous crashes over the years.

Multiple complains against several Arabic admins for giving mutes up to 1 week just for asking a ligit questions including a credits issues and the simple question how can I complain against you or any other admin and sadly non of the questions were ever answered. @marsh geyser @clever cobalt and @faint robin. الادارة العربية لايمثلون العرب بشي. we tried to comunicate with the higher admins but no response.

-ar-supprort - The support agent was unhelpful and dismissive. It felt like they were just trying to brush off my questions instead of actually addressing the issue. Their responses lacked clarity and effort, and there was no real attempt to provide a proper solution. Overall, a frustrating and disappointing experience.

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding an incident in the English support channel. I was seeking technical assistance in English, which is the designated language for that room. However, the staff member consistently deleted my inquiries and attempted to force me to use the Arabic support channel without a valid reason.

Key Violations:

Abuse of Moderation Tools: I was issued a formal warning for "violating rules", even though I was asking a legitimate question in the correct channel (#support-en).

Language Discrimination: Despite communicating clearly in English, the staff member insisted I move to #support-ar, which felt like a targeted restriction rather than helpful guidance.

Lack of Professionalism: When I asked for an explanation regarding the deleted messages, the staff member responded with a final warning instead of clarifying the issue.

Requested Action:
I request the administration to review the logs and the attached screenshots. I am seeking the removal of the unjustified warning from my account and a review of the staff member's conduct to ensure other users are not treated this way.

To clarify, ProBot does not have any feature or permission that allows it to delete channels, or mass-ban members Any actions it performs are strictly limited to the permissions granted to it by the server managers.

In cases like this, it is more likely that another bot, or compromised account. We strongly recommend reviewing your server’s audit logs and checking all bots and staff accounts for any unauthorized access or activity.
