Sadly we don’t know we were all diligent and did most of our runs in reset day but @zealous flume took 207 to get his first lamented before hotfix, and post hotfix they got 2 lamented in 10 dented.

Hi there -
My husband is stuck in the live-to-dead gauntlet part.
He can get the ward/stones to drop, so he has the AD trinket on and his buff is visible.
He will use the ward, which gives him the 2-min debuff.

Here's info:

1. He uses the holy water on the DW, but regardless of what he does, the 5-min debuff (sleight of hand) never appears.
2. He kills no bosses or mini bosses.
3. He does not go to dead side prior to using the ward.
4. He has tried numerous alts, ones with and without AD rep. He does not have AD rep on the character he got the Scholomance achievement on.
5. I had originally zoned in with him to help make sure he hit the 5-min timer with time left, but I had completed the full Naxx unlock. Not sure if this caused a bug.
6. We have read every post on the Wowhead secrets pages, on the debuff pages, looked on Reddit (need to check again this morning), checked the official forums.
7. He has sent 3 tickets, with them saying "We can't help you unlock an achievement" (doiii), "Have you checked Wowhead?", and today: "It's a secret that's described on Wowhead so we can't help you."
8. I went to LHC on his character when he stepped out for a minute, and verified that he was able to turn in scourgestones.
9. We completed the Scholo unlock together when I had already completed it.
10. I have now submitted a ticket telling them he zoned in with me, and has a recently-deleted character so are either of those things causing a bug - but I am expecting them to tell me he has to ask, not me. I provided the ticket number to them along with my ticket.

Any ideas? Should he maybe check if someone who hasn't completed the chain can get it to work in a group? We are getting NO help from Blizz on this issue.

So this worked:
I went in with him, with him as party leader.
I did not have a ward drop, but he did, and used it outside where Timmy is(ish)
I couldn't see the DW, but he could.
He tossed a water and it did not work, so I threw one where I know the DW is.
I got the 5-min buff, he did not.
We ran anyway and went and killed Rivendare
He could see the action button, I could not (no surprise)
He got the dialogue saying go talk to the Archmage, and was able to go talk to her.
Alas, he did not have any rep on the character he did it with so has swapped to one who has it. Will report if he can see her rep-based quest options on the character with rep. If not he'll just do the Fiona chain.

Edit:
He can see her for the turn-in on the character he has who is Honored.

Hope this helps anyone who has been stuck at not getting Slight of Hand!

if he really has no rep on any char then just tell him to do the caravan questline (starts near the road at the very west in EPL), the qline only takes a few mins and at the very end you will get all the rep for it which will give you revered from neutral

If they were to add in an item like ashbringer, because of what it is, I don't think it will just drop from something like the quantum stuff. Much like the naxx stuff Peoples opinions behind it are very strong so If it was going to be added back I would think it would be done so via really hard secrets puzzle or similar to the naxx situation. This is all my opinion however. If you want to go digging around and see if you can find anything. @steel fjord made a post about the picture and dialog change to one of the npcs outside of scholomance. You can search SFD secret channel for that. There is a lore connection there to the sword. I also noticed yesterday while playing around in Dire maul there is the orge suit pattern that can be learned again. This pattern was taken out of the game in Cata from what I can see, but I have no idea when it was added back. There are also story/lore hints in there as well in regards to the Ashbringer. They literally could just be lore tidbits but if your looking for a place to dig around and look thats a start I guess

There's only 3 engineering recipes that were added in 10.1.5, Skullstone Bludgeon and the Refurbished Purifier most likely come from the Argent Dawn scrolls while the Servo Arm comes from Naxx scrolls

a good rule of thumb is to look for the original source of the appearance: if it came from WPL/EPL/dungeon quests it'll come from an Argent Dawn scroll, if it came from Naxxramas/Omarion it'll be a Slime Covered scroll

That is the biggest problem with the system that they have created and that many of those who support this system do not realize, by limiting the obtaining of this T3 in this way, it causes it to only be aimed at a very specific audience and that is not the majority, both you and I guessed how this system would work, and if the gold expense was only on lamented pieces and on creating materials such as undeath metal and it was at a price of less than 1m gold then it would have had more audience, but that is not the case and for now Blizzard refuses to rectify

It should take significant investment and dedication as well as a bit of a gold sink to get all of this together so that ideally people feel like they have more control over chasing the appearances that they want from some legacy content. But someone who already got it all from the Black Market Auction House isn't looking at this and saying 'well that sucks and I feel like my investment has been devalued by this change'.```

However, it ends up being BMAH 2.0 due to the RNG and when trying to create these materials you end up getting everything the same or more than in BMAH for the same amount of time, the idea that I initially presented was not a bad one since it "returned" the gold to those who bought it in BMAH and granted more general access to everyone, however the largest amount of gold goes to an NPC, not even to the players, when they see that they need 2.8m they retract trying to obtain it, reducing potential sales on these materials.

Their argument always falls flat when they talk up the prestige of one thing but disregard it for another, prime example being the TCG mounts given away for free but talking down the spectral tiger because its so much more special than the other mounts on that list

They removed the black/plagued proto drakes for the original glory achieves because they didn't want players to get them easily later and yet for every glory achieve since they've left the rewards attached

500 honor grind with little to no rewards attached to it + a huge amount of removed content 🤔 always found it comical they redesigned it to make it "better" and yet never did anything with it, almost 5 years later..😄

Never brought myself to do the grind as there is no reason to, I've got 343 honor levels to grind with maybe 4 rewards across that, get a grip blizz 😂

i think it's okay to have some unobtainable stuff, it just doesn't feel good when it feels arbitrary as to what is unobtainable and what is put on the BMAH

more than anything, I don't like it when old content straight up gets deleted from the game, replaced with a remake raid/dungeon

this stuff and the ZG secret they added have been pretty well received, so I imagine they've discovered they can kill 2 birds with 1 stone by putting a secret finding spin on reintroducing cut content.

oh yeah, it's clearly not old naxx. but there arent that many changes between old/new aside from the drops and a few npcs.

people wanted the OG looks for their retail toons, the people who just miss the content as it was have Classic to go to

But since they brought back the entirety of old scholo, they could def do the same in later cases
