Almost nothing Griftah sells does anything. (I think he does have a couple of things that link to secrets… but most of his stuff is junk- that’s the joke)

the tortollan charm works, it gets you to the closest fp to mechagon really fast.

This is not entirely accurate. While most of what he sells is junk, out of 9 expansions only 4 expansions do not use Griftah or something he sells. So it's possible there is a use for the Problem Solving Pendant and something in Oribos.

Hi, maybe the Shaman’s spell called “hex” that turns the enemy into a frog (hex is similar to Hek, and he’s a giant frog) has something to do with it but I have not tried anything yet

he just act as quest giver npc like others, but usually it mean they are giver or ender, but you can speculate a unreleased quest or hidden one is behind, but anyway the error message when you try to read the instruction npc is more an error than a feature, probably related to the vehicle seat and position

You don't seem to understand what you ask, a creature have a template with few information and one of those are "npcflag" who store the npc possible "action/reaction" having the questgiver flag interact with the game UI, knowing there is this flag can indicate a possible quest. there is no "quest flag numbers"

I think it was determined that the writing on it was simply placeholder writing as an image, and has no bearing on what is actually written on the instructions, but if it is ever decided then I suppose it’s worth a look

tried lantern and amulet and all interesting foods i have been able to get a hand on, all toys, pets that i have.

Personally, I had few theories that Ive been testing. It is just my hobby so do not please start saying i am waisting my time 😄 :

1. It was mentioned in a quest, that frogs eat Fireflies, specificly bred in life pools. However, did not find any of these yet, that Keshki was talking about. I tried bringing a lot of diff firefly pets to him, including Sapphire Firefly (flavor text about gems), now farming the super rare Firefly pet to try bringing to him (1000/1500 kills atm). Update: Firefly from Zangmarsh does nothing.;

2. All sorts of reading glasses that could help reading the instructions: did not yet try ones from archives (not sure the cosmetic would ever work);(update:nothing)

3. NPCs related to food and frogs (chefs) . No luck with these, usually just go check what are they saying or selling, last idea was checking Chef Tramsey, as we know we got 2 another frogs named Beef and Welington, but have not yet worked alot on him;

4.Items that might help to take note out of the teeth (e.g. toothpick);

5. The dragonfruit dot on me (the one that monkeys throw from the trees) - tried to bring it to the frog, stack it, apply on myseld while dead - no luck with that.

6. Items that would help me lift myself to reach the note. Or something high enough that could take it (stool, ladder etc.). Havent tested stacking Kyrian acrobat stewards, as it needs more people.

i tried running out to hek and eating a few foods to get the well fed buff.. recieved my standard conjured item.. no effect getting well fed on cook/engi mage next to him or using the conjured treat. just to check that off the list heh.

Had super high hopes for the Conjured Hatchling Treats, they kept putting me in combat in Vald by spawning little bugs that come attack me. Thought those might give him a free snack. I think the issue is that we still need to actually read the instructions. Since the game is checking for an item in your inventory while in the area, it’s possible it’s looking for the item that allows you to read the instructions, not the food you have to feed him. It’s also likely that even if we can obtain the correct food for him, we wouldn’t be able to feed him until reading the instructions, as it probably sets a necessary flag

Whatever allows us to read it is probably part of another secret, though it’s hard to say where it could be found

I tried, and I did not see this spell cast in /etrace while entering the cave.
Next spell id (385337) is Conjure Dessert. I think both spells are related to mage's version of https://www.wowhead.com/item=191232/chefs-splendid-rolling-pin that conjures dessert when gaining well fed buff, but you can't have more than one conjured dessert in your bags

Just tested - I cast 385336 whenever I equip Chef's Splendid Rolling Pin with mage's conjuring effect

I tend to disagree. They added an achievement for the conspicuous tablets, made a tauren's cage non-interactable (less secret-y looking), and added a chest behind a portal in the same cave with the tauren.
Since there were no changes to Hek to make him less eye-catching, it might be an indication that Hek is related to a secret.

But it's just the animation that happens from the npc following your movements, but it does add a some immersion cause it does look like he's trying to catch you, or because you're punching him in the stomach you're gonna make him puke. But he will do the tongue animation more often if you are standing under him punching him in the stomach..

We don't know if the previous step has something to do with us the player, the item or Hek himself. He spits out an duck egg. Is it a placeholder "skin" for a different item or is it a duck egg we have to be able to catch and find out the mechanics behind it.
the biggest problem is this Hek secret has become something like a phenomenon in physics. We have an observation now and have to find the mathematical equation for it aka where are the clues on how to feed him or get to the feeding instructions.

I was not insinuating that it was related to color blind mode. The reason for the question was that after lucid nightmare and the push back they got from people who were color blind not being able to do the secret, Blizzard said that their secrets in the future would inclusive. Because of this, it was generally thought that colors, sounds etc. would not be the only clue for secrets because then the secret is no Longer inclusive. However if blizzard added options since then, to support people with color blindness or hearing impairments in the game then colors, and sounds would no longer be off the table. Additonally we may even be able to use some of these inclusion feature to rule out colored items or sounds for secrets using these tools.

So I just checked. In all colour blind filter variants he looks yellow with that special shader. (The shader thingy I'm talking about is like the ones they use in Legion Remix Heroic World Tier where certain mobs are empowered)

Some things I noticed while tracking the Hek topic:

• Inside the cave, there is a Tyrhold “tower” with dragons around it.
• In the Tyrhold area, there was nothing that I checked / found.
• Inside the Halls of Infusion, the description of the boss “Gulping Goliath” says:

"Deep within the caverns of the Halls of Infusion lurks the Gulping Goliath. Sire to countless generations of hornswogs, the Goliath and his brood have thrived upon the unprocessed waters of the wellspring.
Driven by an insatiable hunger, he will eagerly devour any creature that strays too closes to his lair."

MAYBE should we check Halls of Infusion for any clues?

I stumbled today on something, no idea if it is relevant, tough. We have the cogwheels around Hek. I fllew trought the closed door of the Hall of Samples. There are orbs on the floor, as the earth one looks exactly the same as the walking earth one near Hek. There are two portals also, leading to two rooms - Halls of the Samples and Halls of the aspects. I know we entered the Halls for quest before, but it collapsed as far as i can remember. Yet there are samples in the rooms- a dragon for each element, caged into an orb and a hologram that is clickable .

Hek's cave has 5 dragon paintings around a pillar, and Agapanthus' chain quest rewards 5 whelps:

You’re making a really strong case for this link… the daycare quests for the whelps are all mini game or fly here to get this. I feel like I used the whelps once to try and get “closer” to Hekk.

Ok... I'm trying to find all the cogwheels and struggling a bit, so if anyone has map ccords, it would help. I've got the title and am trying having the different whelps out at each, but I'm still inclined to believe that we're not at this step yet.

When I had Belastraza out and the Whelptender title on, clicking the Walking Fire cogwheel gave me a 35 second buff. I'll test it without her onve it respawns, but 35 seconds would be enough to click each one in order.

Oof. Found frost up next and got a 45 second buff. Intriguing.

Dying and reviving above him to try and reach the note.

Kiting something to him with no success.

Thoughts that I haven't followed up on yet.
-Baby powder from the dalaran daily
-Vyrkul form
-Getting covered in bugs and presenting myself
-Attempting to find another copy of the feeding instructions elsewhere if they exist
-Gathering a party of people and exploding corpses with various abilities and items
-Obtaining and testing a form of poisoned bait
-spawning a giant turkey if that exists
-collecting a giant worm
-Pulling a stew pot Pandaria style all the way to him
-Collecting items from various gluttons from around the world such as at the manor in bfa or gorefiend in wod.

The assumption is whatever secret is starting with the SoK and bike/anakron clues will eventually lead to Hek. Hek getting fed was datamined early before we did whatever was before it.

If you wanna try to solve starting with Hek you're assuming A) It's a separate thing from the SoK entirely and B) It was meant to be started directly at Hek without anything (including the datamined spell) intending to lead to him.

We know the feeding effect was new not old but it seems like they patched it to not work anymore without the prior steps.

Josh himself said we got to the Hek interaction too early and things wont work until we do the prior steps, you may interpret that however you'd like
