Soloed it as a Prot Pally just now, you have to get in the right spot quickly (fly in at full health over where the guy is) and divine shield before you click on the empowered snail. at 365k health I had just enough to collect it and then die right after.

no elemental storm isn't the reason, especially as it wasn't even active

it was just hotfixed in, thats all

now all the lava snails drop it

Kill some lavaslupers and snails, and you get a purple item called empty magma shell and then use that on the slug in the ;ava

theres a slug in the bottom of the lava

youll have to do a hefty channel, so make sure you got healing or someone to heal you

Finding the snail in the lava is one thing, getting the shell to drop is another, I farmed those slugs days ago up and down along with the fire elementals trying to get the item for Enkine and had no luck than either

deff not. had to help someone who tried just accepting rez sickness which locked them even after logging repeatedly. so best advice i have is rez on the rock away from body. if locked as ghost relog. if locked after rez sickness log on another toon then go back to that toon.

no, the shell gets removed after you complete

just jump into the lava with turtle on, if you are immune before touching the lava when you are submerged you will not get damaged afterwards

Confirming a wowhead comment - if you pop aspect of the turtle BEFORE hopping in the lava as a hunter, you are immune to lava damage.
