Don't need to go that high for a game server unless you're hosting, idk, Star Citizen
What are you planning to host?
multi games not just one if i was to run one it be atlas with 9 maps but id like it to do more then just one game
Gotcha
there is alot to pick from i just dont know what will do the job i dont care if its a renew or i have to upgrade it i just dont know crap about server boards i heard more core are better then i just heard from wasted less is better so ya im lost but im still going to get one
It really depends on the games. Are you planning to have the servers running directly on the machine or virtualize them some way? Like hyperv or docker? I haven't looked into running game servers in containers but why not
i can do either i have done it on the hp z840 but my bottle neck with the z840 was atlas i could not get past 6 maps running good and that was virt ran i want better then the z840
i ran conan ark and mine craft at the same time with people on each with no lag for anyone
Maybe check per game you want to host on what they actually need.
Not that games will use that much but I have played games where the game server needed to be pretty beefy.
ok lets pick atlas where it will be able to run maps or more i was looking at TechMikeNY Server 2X E5-2687Wv4 3.00Ghz 24-Core 256GB 12.5TB TrueNAS PowerEdge R730xd on amazon i would have to add more drives but idk if it is good or if it can do it
According to this that’s 12 Atlas servers running in parallel
