I have been offered HP Z240 with Intel Xeon E3-1270 v6, 16gig DDR4, and RTX 4060 8GB for 750€

Since I'm not big on current hardware knowledge, I would love some input on if it's decent bang for buck, or if viable/better alternative could be built from scratch for similar price range.

Goal would be to play Baldur's Gate 3 and Cities Skylines 2.
If ending up building from scratch, I have ATX cases available. And if it's still relevant, au-500w PSU

yeah, i'd build from scratch at that point

#

though i hope those ATX cases you have available have good airflow, new ones are under $100

I believe the CPU is worse than the Ryzen 3 3300X, which is pretty terrible

yeah that's not gonna run either game

#

though atleast at current you could build a pc that should be able to run both pretty decently at that price point

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4LNy4M so this is a preliminary quick build list i threw together so you can see what you need to run both those games at what would be a little above recommended spec. you'd be able to save money here and there by optimizing this, and it doesn't account for market differences in the EU, but it should give you an idea of what to look for

#

obv you don't need both a 4070 and a 7800xt, but throwing both in there because both are good and should be more or less equal to eachother in terms of performance in most games

#

and i'm not suggesting you get those specific models of 4070 and 7800xt, any version of those cards should work, so get the cheapest one

#

that is if you're buying new, used i'd 100% get a 3080 of some kind, or a 6800xt if you find a good deal on one

my 5600x runs BG3 very well, i use a scythe fuma 2 and like it, hence the fuma 3 recommendation, and 2tb m.2 is worth it's weight in gold with the size of video games nowadays

older card

the motherboard is the one that is the most personal preference option here, there are plenty of good b550 mobos to choose from, i just picked the first one i saw that has 2 m.2 slots and a decent amount of usb slots

#

the RAM, Storage, and PSU are specifically what i would get for this build when keeping a decent budget in mind

I have a R9-5900X, 32GB 3200MT/s, Asus Strix B550 I am thinking of selling

Or at least the Motherboard and RAM
