I was gifted a functional monitor (claimed) that was missing its power cable, and I am not entirely sure what the key elements are to look for in a replacement; and I'm assuming it doesn't like the wrong thing to be plugged in.

It is an Asus model no VZ279 version no VZ279HE.
Lists the power as 19v (dc) 1.75A

What is the 1.75A part and is it important?

A == Amps.

And it matters insomuch as the replacement power supply has to supply at least that many amps at the given voltage.

#

More amps do not hurt anything.

#

Amazon has several other supplies available that all advertise that they will work with your monitor. It seems like a common monitor input spec.

Picks up official ASUS power brick that is sitting on desk and looks at back Oh no.

Thanks! That explains why so many monitors get listed on the various cables..

As long as the voltage is correct.

Well, you're not gonna put a 1kw brick in your monitor 😅
