Hello there, I know the title might not be very clear. I am sorry, I just don't know what title to put on this.
I am an A level student. I took A level CS, Maths, and Biology.
my grades were not really all that great, I got a C in CS, a B in Maths, and currently awaiting final results for Biology, i am thinking I might get an A or an A*
I am studying german at the moment.
the issue here now is that I want to apply to study medicine in germany. I Know that germany is extremely competitive, and that my grades are not impressive to anyone who sees them in an admissions office. This led me to think that I might apply for a foundation year or a studienkolleg, but the way a studienkolleg works is super confusing to me, is it the same as a foundation year? is it more similar to a levels? does it work in an entirely different way. I haven't spoken to any locals or asked anyone about it yet, i have just been snooping around reddit and looking through websites and asking chatgpt (which has not provided much help). I cannot afford to go to a private university so am applying specifically to public unis only.
my questions are:
does the studienkolleg work the same as a foundation year in any other university?
can i apply to a studienkolleg to aid in my application to a german university?
does a studienkolleg raise my probability of being accepted to a medical school in germany?
if all that i said is total baloney, how does it all actually work. like i already submitted my a levels,
what do i need to do to be able to study in a medical uni in germany?
I am not very knowledgeable on how to apply to a university, i haven't done it before and I have been putting off the idea of even researching possible unis, their requirements and everything in between the lines because I was told that all I need to do is finish my A levels and I will be accepted, now that I know I was wrong, I need to know what I need to do before I finish receive my final results, so that I can act quickly.
