Hello everyone!
I would be extremely grateful if someone clarified my doubts.

My current profile:

  • In S5 of BTech in Computer Science Engineering with 8.71 CGPA (aggegate of previous 4 semesters), in APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University or KTU which is H+ accredited in Anabin database
  • German I have started learning recently (A1)
  • I'm having work experience as a freelance web developer in MERN stack (currently worked with 5 clients, one in Norway, Europe and others in India). I do it part-time. Later, I'm planning to niche-down or specialise in particular field.

Doubts:

  1. What can I do to increase my chances of German uni admission and job?
  2. What should be my emphasis or main focus at this point?
  3. Which fields in Computer Science are in high demand right now? I've heard Java + Spring Boot developers are in heavy demand. Is it true?

I can't comment much on the education part, just be mindful that not only the university needs H+ on anabin, your degree itself also needs to have a "Gleichwert" or "Entspricht" Äquivalenzklasse to be recognized.

SWE market is very hard at the moment. Most openings are for Senior positions and they expect you to speak German. You already mentioned Freelance experience, but can't say that's comparable.

IT areas are better, especially cyber-sec and networking if you got decent certs (CCNA+ / Sec+), but again, most job openings expect German proficiency and are not entry-level.

I don't have any info about scientific computation fields. I recall there was some need in Bioinformatics a few years ago, but no idea if that's still the case.

What should be my emphasis or main focus at this point?
If you want to move to Germany? Learn German.

I searched in "Hochschulabschlüsse" section and my degree of 4 years of Bachelors in Technology was present there (check attched screenshots). Does it mean its recognised?

Is there any specific things I can do to improve my changes of getting admission other than learning German? Regarding tech, I feel like the recession is in every country and it was because of the mass hiring in 2019-2021 and will recover in a few years.

Thanks for your reply

It says it's equivalent "sofern als Präsenzstudium durchgeführt", so as long as it wasn't long-distance studies. If that applies to you, then you should be fine.

Can't really say, sorry. Hopefully someone who has studied here can give you better info.

I agree too.
