#Wanna study in Europe (HELP)

so i rlly wanna study in europe, preferably somewhere in central europe. I also kinda want a rlly old school, and one that has english speaking programs, just in case i cant learn the native language of the country in time. And one that is decently prestigous, but not too prestigous, like 40 below acceptance rate type stuff. I chill with just 50 plus. But yea, could anyone give advice pls? Also, i dont rlly have a budget.

No budget? In Germany you'd need a blocked bank account of 11k+ Euro. So that's out already?

When i meant by no budget i meant im willing to pay for pretty much any school

Yeah I don't think you'll find a dual bachelors (esp not with education, would be kinda useless as well) in English. If I just filter for history and English, there's 22 programs available:

But then also eg the Göttingen one is partly English partly german, it seems. So you'll have to check if there's one at all

The ones I sent were just history bachelors (in English)
You can use the website to filter and search for other subjects

Filters I used for you now are
Sprache (language) Englisch
Abschluss (degree) bachelor
Studienform full-time (not part time)
Political science = Politikwissenschaft

Keep in mind we don't really... Value degrees from private unis much. Even a "bad" public uni (unis do not have prestige here either) will be better than a private uni

Probably, the gap from beginner to A2 is way smaller than the gap from A2 to C. Also it simply depends on how much time you have to dedicate to this.

Someone on this server learned C1 from scratch in less than a year; the thing was, she was a teenager and she learned a lot over summer break. She had the free time to study for hours and hours on end. I’m assuming you don’t have that luxury, but I’d still say your goal is a reasonable and worthy one.

No, that's the point, everyone kinda gets accepted

Just.... 50% fail in the first year, bc law IS hard. But this uni gives everyone a chance

I speak German very well. How long it took is more complicated… depends on what you consider “fluent”, “good” or “as good as today”. After 3 years (maybe shorter, I don’t know exactly) I could understand just about any TV/youtube video, even about things like German politics. My speaking capabilities lagged behind because I had no opportunities to talk with German speakers until later. Nevertheless, I quickly improved in this area when I started speaking with German speakers.

so just for the law program, it says that there are no admission requirements, so that means anyone can get into the law program?

A lawyer in Germany dealing with German laws will have to do and learn law in German, yes

Yes and yes you have to do staatsexamen

After every few years u need to do staatsexamen in uni

Law program is 7 years

After 1,3, 5 and 7 I think u have to do big exams (staatsexam)

But does your degree, according to ANABIN, allow direct admission?

I would, if you really have no budget, get to B1 and then do DSH if you have a direct admission

o yea do u know any good podcasts that i could listen to to help me learn? (The best way i learn is by listening, as long as i pay attention my memory skills work way better)
