Hi everyone! I just don’t have anyone to talk about my plans so i decided to post my plans and maybe find some new information about getting into medical school. Mainly I’m from Russia, we moved to US two years ago. English is obviously not my native language but im trying my best to improve in it!
I am a junior year high school student and I just started to plan things, and learn german…i want to take gap year after my senior year for some staff and i will have total +- 1,5-2 years. Minimum requirements to get into german school are C1 language lvl and 1.0-1.1 grades by german grading. I am not exactly getting into 1.1 grade…and i took 1-2 AP classes for my senior year, I will have to study german and improve my grades at the same time :/ and even then it won’t be enough. I heard that Testas helps in improving my GPA by some point (and i heard its must have test for medical field)…and i know two SK where they can add to ur GPA 0.1-0.3 points. So if i add this all up maybe i will be close to get into medical school with different courses and change later on medical field. It’s kinda stressful because the idea of getting into german school was unexpected …i will try my best in learning german and i will need someone who is just like me newbie XD if there is someone who is familiar with “medical school in germany” i would be glad to hear about ur advices or anything else! (And im planning to get citizenship later on there…)

You need 4 AP classes to study at a german University
I heard that is not always the cays. Its why they let u in to SK but if so i just can go in to college and tale 1-2 courses and then go into german school. That what i heard?
Whats SK?
I've never heard if that requirement. According to anabin you either have 4APs or you spend 2 years at a university
Studykolei (have no idea how to spell)
Studienkolleg?
Yes!
Yes, without 4APs you need studienkolleg
I will research a bit more on that! Thank u
And you need to make sure your diploma meets the requirements as well, without the APs
Yeah, because they have 13 or something classes and more harder classes
Okay! I will still have my senior year. But i will be probably somewhere at 1.2-1.3. In that case i can take biology/chem courses in german school and after 1-4 courses can change on medical field
Oh yeah, i did read that! I found other information through company in russia that helps students like me to get into german school. Its where i found this info. They said that i can go into same courses that i can later on change on to medical if i dont meet the requirements
its why its easier to go and study for 1-2 years in here or other universities, get diploma and then go into german school. It this way because they will see that u already did study 1-2 years (most of the time they dont make u go into Studienkolleg and u can just go into their school and start at 2nd or 3rd year
Is that not for people from Russia? Aren't you in the American school system
and sorry but your information isn't really clear, do you mean you want to study something like biology for 1 or 2 years then switch to medicine in Germany?
Its for everyone! I am in American school system but those requirements same for everyone! Ita just will depend on how many students will leave medical course in order to change from bilogy/chem
Its one of the ways, yes!
The requirements are not the same for every country
From America you need 2 years, if you don't have 4AP classes
Russia is 1 year pretty sure
Okay, i will research on that, thank u
Okay, if i take gap year and study for 2-3 AP classes and take them, can i just go into medical school or it wont be scored for my grades?
I don't see why it wouldn't work, but I'm not sure
Okay, thanks
its just too late for me to take AP calculus
Okay i later check each university requirements trough uni-assist and maybe ill text them with this question
I will look up each school specifically about how many AP classes need in order to attend. And can i take another year in high school? Or i cant
It's not school by school. It's a general requirement
And it seems you can't take any APs after high school that will be taken into consideration
Oh okay or i can go with this one buy it will take me longer
Or you could do studienkolleg
Yes😔 sadly
Best route imo
?
if you don't have enough APs, you can do studienkolleg, just make sure your diploma meets the credit requirements
It was my main course where i should go and what i should study. Because if i dont meet school requirements they will send me into SKa and than i will study there for a year
Dang it

Okay thanks!
If you want to do medicine you do m course, are you doing biology in school already?
I will be in senior year
and yes testas can improve your score
then I guess its fine
If you don't have biology they don't let you do m course I believe
I will take TestAs and i heard its improves ur grade a lot
Oh okay
Yep
Then i think i have to finish my senior year and then continue planning? For now just improve my grade and german
Yea, for studienkolleg you'll need B2
😔 what does it mean C1 in medicine? I still dont understand
B1 is the minimum for some, but the chances of you passing the entrance exam with it is low
Oh
You learn German in studienkolleg for 1 year, afterwards once you do the fsp, the fsp certificate counts as a c1 certificate
The fsp is the final exam for studienkolleg
Oh…now i get it
so first i have to take exam to get certificate B2 and TestAs send my documents into school; they will send me into studienkolleg and i have to finish it with good scores , and then send my application into schools i like
is that right?
You don't need testas before studienkolleg
I heard that i need certificate with B2 and if i dont need testas before studienkolleg when its better to take it?

You need a B2 certificate yes, but testas isn't part of the studienkolleg application process
Oh
I'm not sure when people do it, I'll ask for you
Thanks a lot! Can i ask u more questions about all
This process later again?
Yes sure
So does that means that i dont need to go to the Germany ,and I can take my test for B2 here or anywhere else? Or they only in germany , sorry for stupid questions
You can take it anywhere
Hallo
hello?
I've asked, it's advised to do it during or after studienkolleg
For after you have to be mindful of application deadlines and whatnot
I want now about ausbildung ?
look through, I think that ausbildung has been discussed several times, or if you don't find what you're looking for, make a new thread
Search ausbildung in the search bar on this forum
What ausbildung?
Mechanik
Can you create a new thread?
Ok
Oh okay! Thank u a lot
You can apply using b1 to some studienkollegs
with B1 your chances of passing the entrance exam are slim, B2 is advised
Yeah.. but for application you can apply using b1.. and apply to 9-10 Studienkollegs and your chances are high
You can of course have a B1 certificate, your german level however should bw B2
Your chances aren't really high
Also c-test really doesnt depend on ur level.. it depends on how much i practice it
And it's not up to 10 studienkollegs are B1.
There is
There is more than 10
I applied to 10 myself
Yes they do, go and practice mut zur Lücke B2-C1, and see if you can solve it with B1 german
And theres more
Which were?
I am doing it
🧍♂️
and what are your general scores overall?
Kiel,coburg,konstanz,hannover,kit,Darmstadt,Leipzig,anhalt,zittau,Nordhausen
My point still stands🤷♀️ , im not arguing with you, get B2 @cobalt cave, C1 if possible as well, some Studienkollegs allow you to skip the anp or fsp
Kassel
You won't get an invite to hanover with b1 lol
But the others work I guess
U will.. u need to show a b2 by august
will you have B2 by then?
Yup
if you have b1 certificate, hanover will not send you an invite
Are u sure.. i mean i didnt apply to hannover anyways
If you have B2, yes, possible, but not certain
But its mentioned in their website
Yes. Its on their website that those with B1 won't get an invite
Only B2 and upwards
genau, but B2 is still better
alpt of people applying have B2/C1
Yep, that works
From
Oh lol
Funny
