How much would it cost to go to a medical university in Germany if I am in the USA? I want to go into pathology and I intend to go to a public university.
I learned a bit of German in 7th grade but I stopped since I picked up Japanese and French. Now I’m in 9th grade and I’m learning German again, so I should have 4 years to learn to a good level. What level would be required for medical courses? For these next years my main focus will be on German, but my mom requires I learn mandarin.
The price doesn’t have to be specific to pathology, since just a cost range would be nice for tuition and living costs.

Your grades for medicine need to be perfect, like, really really good. And you need C1, it's up to you if you can get to that level. Tuition is low at public universities. To recieve your student permit you need 11,904 euros in a blocked account to cover your living expenses, I assume when you start in 4 years it'll be higher than this
I don't think pathology is a full degree, you study medicine and then you do some sort of further education to become a pathologist

Keep in mind that a high school degree from the US is not always enough to qualify you for a german bachelor's by itself. It depends on which courses specifically you have taken and your grades, so I would recommend investing some time in researching a few universities and their entrance qualifications and comparing it to what you will have once you finish high school.

Ah I see, I was wondering a bit about that as well. I plan to volunteer at any local hospitals or a nursing home when I get my drivers license. My school also offers medicine intro classes so maybe that would help too. I’ve seen online that UMCH offers English courses but I think that would make it more competitive, so I’m not quite counting on it yet.
