How do you understand “melde dich” in this context shown in the attachment? I think it means let me know, but if so what about “melde mich”? Thanks.

you're correct, melde dich means let me know/get in touch
it's a reflexive verb "sich melden" meaning to report (oneself), so by saying "melde dich" to someone you mean "report yourself (to me)", that's why you wouldn't use "melde mich"
